“I have to let people know that Danny is 100 percent Puerto Rican.”
Well, he isn’t.Posted March 13, 2014 9:32 pm
Not putting Garcia down his a hella of a good fighter, his definately in the Top 5 best P4P boxers at the moment ( 1. Money, 2. SOG, 3. Dessert Storm, 4. Swift, 5. Rigo)Posted March 2, 2014 5:45 am
hhl london. are you from africa.Posted March 1, 2014 2:27 pm
HHLondon@ very true. I always knew he’s a one-trick pony and Garcia is an intelligent fighter-and he can punch too.Posted February 28, 2014 9:58 pm
Matthysse was/is a one-trick pony.
Danny beat him because he has a good corner, adjusts and wins.
He’s champ while the poster boys are on queer street!
Khan was ahead against Prescott and Danny until Khan got touched.
Danny dropped Lucas late after taking his best shots and from the 4th, he listened to his corner and Danny found his range and timing and from then on it was game over!
He’s champ while the poster boys are on queer street!Posted February 28, 2014 9:52 pm
Lets get real
I like Matthysse but Danny boy beat him fair and square. Garcia adjusted after a few torrid rounds and punished Lucas – the mark of a champion no less – WTF has Garcia got to do to get some respect?Posted February 28, 2014 7:50 pm
Lets get real
Garcia is a top fighter under rated by the casual boxing fan, however he has passed every test put in front of him. He is one of the rare breed that is a credit to the noble art.Posted February 28, 2014 6:16 pm
You just reinforce what a prick you are when you make comments like that.
Danny fights at 140 whilst Floyd fights between 147/154 so anyone with a brain knows the fight isn’t happening based upon weight.
You think Angel Garcia is stupid enough to throw his son into a division he has never fought at and a fight he more than likely would lose?
When has Garcia or Mayweather ever discussed fighting each other?Posted February 28, 2014 5:39 pm
where is this family from again. LOL.Posted February 28, 2014 4:42 pm
All I have to say is there is a reason Danny Garcia is fighting a C class fighter for his next fight instead of Floyd. Cause him and his father know dam well that Mayweather would give him a complete boxing lesson and completely stop his hype train in its tracks.Posted February 28, 2014 4:37 pm
Xylocaine – they buying time to take over after May retires, May would tear jnr up.Posted February 28, 2014 2:54 pm
I could care less when the trainers or fathers talk trash. I just hate when they bring up none boxing stuff. I could care less about what fighters did outside of the ring as long as they are not murders, rapist or child molesters. Just stick to boxing. If you want to clown a fighter on his comp then do it. If you want to talk about how lousy they have been looking then do it. Leave the none boxing stuff out of itPosted February 28, 2014 12:39 pm
Danny is a good fighter and looks like a humble kid as well. I think his dad is really getting in the way of this kid stardom. I think if he was to keep his big mouth shut and stop being so disrespectful and trying to take his son shine away from him Danny would have a lot more fans. Me myself I like Garcia regardless of what his big mouth dad says.Posted February 28, 2014 3:56 am
Enough with the damn quotes, let’s see a fight.Posted February 28, 2014 12:44 am
I like that DG camp does not beg for fm fight.Posted February 27, 2014 10:59 pm
I think Snr thrash talk is part of the stratergy calculated to give jnr focused at the matter at hand besides jnr seems more humble than pops but undrestimate snr at your own peril, dude is knowledgeable, dedicated & determined to get jnr to being the best boxer.Posted February 27, 2014 10:48 pm
te tumbo- I’m not gonna get in the way if this. Peace!Posted February 27, 2014 10:34 pm
SRMINIMO, believe me, “Messyhoe” is going at it with himself. a lot like his toilet-stool love-life while shouting “frank and beans!?!”. . . he must have the hairiest palms in florida.Posted February 27, 2014 10:07 pm
te tumbo- don’t stop on my account. My favorite part of the day is reading you and PE going at it. And agree about Colombia. I’ve been several times. My wife is from Bogota and every time she takes me there I feel like I’m carrying wood to the forest (llevando leña al bosque, como dicen los Colombianos). It’s culo y teta as far as the eye can see.Posted February 27, 2014 9:59 pm
You know how many fighters lose fights because their trainer is crap and doesn’t know what he’s doing?
Angel has it down from 5am to lights out and Danny’s accomplishments are testament to that.
Danny is a grafter and the reason he is double world champ is because he respects and trusts his seconds in between rounds and in between fights.
Look at the chaos elsewhere in other divisions over the last few years and this will give you a clue as to what this tight little outfit have down.
Another similar firm are the Mayweathers.
No Nonsense World Champs!Posted February 27, 2014 9:22 pm
Colombia . . . mm-Mm-MMM. i’ve been to the island but i’ve never seen such a high ratio of firme culos than when I was in Colombia. it was relentless and so apparently normal, that i seemed to be the only guy who couldn’t help but notice that i was surrounded by full round culos everywhere i looked(?!). it took several days before I could control my head from swiveling left, right, left, and right again and more than a couple of 180° spin moves.Posted February 27, 2014 8:01 pm
SRMINIMO, you’re a cool cat. you get the digs without foaming-at-the-mouth. you almost make want to stop digging into the island . . . but not while “Messyhoe” remains on the loose . . . paz y respeto. translation: pazthyrepeto”papi”.Posted February 27, 2014 7:51 pm
te tumbo- “Btw, once Danny learns Spanish, maybe he can teach the rest of the island to do the same.”
You crack me up my man. I have a good friend from Colombia who told me exactly the same thing.Posted February 27, 2014 6:30 pm
once Mathysse’s sheer aggression failed to overwhelm Garcia, he looked one-dimensional and was simply outclassed. i was and still am high on Mathysse but he could use a training camp with the likes of Robert Garcia who added some sorely-needed fundamentals to Maidana’s primitive ring-style, which has elevated him a solid notch above headfirst plodder.Posted February 27, 2014 6:17 pm
Judah robbed Matthysse, Garcia gave him a whooping and made him look the one-trick-pony he is.Posted February 27, 2014 5:24 pm
Please. Garcia beat Matthysse fair and square. Everybody always has some type of reason why someone lost. Just accept defeat and move on. A foul isn’t a foul unless the ref calls it. And if you are hit low 3 times chances are you are only going to get a point taken a way.Posted February 27, 2014 5:19 pm
“Stop the BS, the Danny vs Lucas fight was a great fight, much better then the Snoozer Sparring session Cinnabum had with Floyd… Danny wasn’t low blowing every 30 seconds you delusional Chihuahua.. it was Lucas that was Rabbit Punching all night long.” – False. Danny hit Matthysse with 3 low blows and was only penalized once. He also head butted Matthysse twice and held 10 times per round. The ref was on bath salts.Posted February 27, 2014 5:16 pm

Garcia beat living daylights out of both of them … GET OVER IT!Posted February 27, 2014 3:23 pm
“Herrera beat Provodinok on points whereas Bradley bareley made it out when he fought Provo and was given lots of breaks by referee”
Herrera, although a formidable opponent, has not progressed and improved in the same manner Provodnikov has since they fought back in 2011. Out of all the fighters Herrera has faced since fighting Provodnikov, only two–Mayfield and Alvarado were of any great importance and Herrera lost to both of them. He also barely squeaked out a win over Mike Dallas Jr. Although tough and always competitive, Herrera has shown that he does not have the skills and ability to beat higher level competition when he needs to.
Provodnikov, on the other hand, soundly beat Alvarado and gave elite level fighter Timothy Bradley a beating, losing that fight by controversial decision. There is no comparison between Provodnikov and Herrera at this point in time.
Additionally, when Herrera fought Ruslan, Ruslan had only 17 fights under his belt while Herrera had 16. They were fairly evenly matched at the time. Today they are not. Ruslan is on another level and he proved that in his fight with Bradley.
Of course Danny will take Mauricio seriously and Herrera will put on a very good show. But he will lose and likely suffer the first KO of his career.Posted February 27, 2014 2:13 pm
“his long-awaited debut to his native homeland”. Wait he was born in Philadelphia U.S.A. You could call PR his fatherland or motherland but not his homeland.Posted February 27, 2014 1:22 pm
What rematch? Matthysse hasn’t even mentioned anything about a fight. We are still waiting to hear what Matthysse wants to do. Other than that there really is no need for a rematch. Garcia clearly showed he was betterPosted February 27, 2014 1:15 pm

I don’t think Garcia will take him lightly. I believe he will train like he is going against the best. I also though Ruslan beat Harrera. I remember seeing the fight on ESPN and seeing how Ruslan looked but I thought he may have pulled it out at the endPosted February 27, 2014 1:03 pm
PUBLIC ENEMY: Herrera beat Provodinok on points whereas Bradley bareley made it out when he fought Provo and was given lots of breaks by referee. Herrera is a live-wire so don’t think Danny should even think about getting careless or too flippant. He just needs to box smart like he did with Matthysse. Yea, PR doesn’t have a lot of economic prosperity — they got ripped off by Spain and U.S. then got rewarded with food stamps and all kinds of aid — 40% unemployment for 3.5 million adds up to a lot of 3rd world misery. The good part is our beautiful culture so full of hospitality — treating people like our own relatives and treating them like royalty when they visit us in our homes. Not giving up on PR picking up their economy some day. Sign me a die-hard idealist.Posted February 27, 2014 12:49 pm
So Anonymous is Op Amp. Makes sense.
Angel Garcia talks the truth but no I dont think he can fight. One hit and his mouth would shut up.Posted February 27, 2014 12:48 pm
I like Garcia. Doesn’t shy away from a challenge. I remember when everybody was saying he was scared of Matthysse especially after TKOing Peterson and saying he had the look of a fighter that didn’t want to take that challenge. Love the fact he proved everybody wrong. I picked Matthysse but never thought Garcia was scared. Hoping he just keeps winning.Posted February 27, 2014 12:08 pm
Not that there is anything normal about a world champion, but Danny Garcia is a cut above a “normal” world champion. This kid sees with more then just his eyes. I hear intuitivness and genuine intelligence from him when interviewed. The Danny Garcia train isnt going to slow down anytime soon. We got smart and warrior rolled into one here.Posted February 27, 2014 11:16 am

Does anyione know if Angel Garcia Sr can fight ? This guy talks and acts like such a tough guy. Whats his history. Or is he one of those that is just full of it ?Posted February 27, 2014 10:22 am
Anonymous- The Mathysse fight was easy. Zab Judah gave him more trouble than Mathysse. He should rather give him a rematch.Posted February 27, 2014 7:42 am
“Lucas got robbed too just like Herrera is gonna get robbed by those eyebrow plucking homos!” – LOL. I don’t think the fight will be close. But that was a funny tirade. And ESB I’ve not posted since this morning how the hell is that too fast? Fix the GD software.Posted February 27, 2014 3:51 am

To BOXING ART,,Danny and his crazy dad just want to rip off the poor people of Puerto Rico ,,You know like i know that 90 % of the Puerto Rican people don’t work ,Danny and his dad know that this is a nothing fight ,because Danny is terrify of fighting a real threat ,Posted February 27, 2014 1:04 am
Danny and his father know the PR boxing fans will bring in lots of money just like they have for Cotto. We are a loyal fanbase. He’s also smart for not discounting Herrera and knows Herrera will bring in his max game to push for a win. I expect Danny to win this one come what may.Posted February 27, 2014 12:44 am
Angel Garcia might be obnoxious, a loudmouth, devoid of class and manners, but he’s no fool. Getting the support of the island will make García a bonafide star and a lot of money. And this is the ideal moment for Danny to step in with Cotto on his last legs, guys like Verdejo and Pedraza a couple of years away from important fights and Puerto Rico hungry for someone to cheer for.Posted February 27, 2014 12:24 am

My boy Danny Garcia is fighting Herrera next. Ok, so he is unknown and a taxi driver and they had to feed the poor bastard before he could even sign the contract. Its better than facing those big boys at welterweight. Stay away from that division at all costs Daddy…uh, I mean Danny!. Go Danny!Posted February 26, 2014 11:31 pm
Who is this Herrera guy? An why is Danny fighting him, l never heard of the guy.Posted February 26, 2014 11:27 pm

Garcia is a smart young champ.
Has a good corner.Posted February 26, 2014 10:53 pm
