It’s a fact that Puerto Rico would be another Island like Haiti ..if it wasn’t for America ..all the lazy puerto ricans that come to the USA go on welfare and that’s a fact .. there’s a movie call what would happen if there was no Mexican’s in America to work ..America would be shut down .. You never hear what would happen if there were no Puerto Ricans in America to work ..Of course not Puerto Ricans are terrify of working ..they figure UNCLE SAM will take care of them …Posted February 11, 2014 2:35 pm
@ PE thank you. It’s true facts. Haters just gonna hate. I would never say we are the best or anything like that but you can’t deny the contributions of this Tiny group of people to boxing. The hate is crazy. I’m a fan of many mexican fighters but some people just will never give a Rican credit. People talk about Oscar being robbed? wasn’t Strum, even some people say Maybe whitaker & Quartey depending how you look at were robbed? A Rican can never get credit. Danny beats Matthyse & it’s the eye. Collazo KO’s Ortiz and it’s Ortiz heart even though he was favored. Gomez KO’s 17 fighters in tittle defenses & what do they see? He loss to Sanchez.I’m an Oscar fan but to give him the win against Tito would have been wrong. I can’t reward a guy who is litteraly running scared and robs the fans. How come Oscar didn’t fight Tito like he did Quartey? Did anyone see him run there? It’s because Tito decapitates him the way he did undefeated fighters Yori Boy & Ferocious Fernando Vargas. Delahoya knew it. Besides Ledderman had it no less than a draw. So it wasn’t the blowout you think. watch the fight. If it’s close enough to be a draw then give it to the aggressive fighter who’s trying to make a fight. Not the one running.Posted February 11, 2014 1:19 pm
The greatest Puerto Rican fighter of all time ,,,,, the great Wilfred Benitez no question about it ,,i give credit when credit is due ,, unlike other jokers on this web page ,who only want to give credit to their heritage ..Yes Benitez was the best fighter from P.R. he fought the best ,, He fought ,, Kid Pambele ,,Carlos Palomino ,,Sugar Ray ,,Tommy Hearns ,,Roberto Duran to name just a few ..The great Radar ,,Posted February 11, 2014 4:51 am
Wilfredo Gomez was very good ,,but not to great ,, he easily got demolish by Salvador Sanchez ,,he also took a bad beating by Lupe Pintor ,,although he did win ..he got destroy by Azumah Nelson ..who by the way Salvador Sanchez beat .. He also lost against Rocky Lockridge only to be given a gift decision in Puerto Rico . He barley beat a average fighter in Jaun La Porte .Posted February 11, 2014 4:38 am
If you are a true boxing fan ..and hold boxing above anything else , then you would know that Oscar De La Hoya did actually beat Tito Trinidad .. Now don’t lie on this one ,if you really know your boxing ,,Trinidad lost that night .Posted February 11, 2014 4:29 am
PR BOXING FACTS FOR THE UNEDUCATED & IGNORANT
Youngest world champion ever Benitez 17 years old
1st hispanic heavy weight champion
greatest junior feather weight in boxing history Gomez 17 tittle defenses all by KO!! By the way several mexicans contributed to that
Boricuas have had a champion in every weight class. Mex has yet to accomplish this.
Basora PR great that was able to have a draw with the great Sugar Ray Robison. A fight many felt he should have won.
Tittle fights with nations 3000 times bigger little PR holds its own. So good that it has a rivalry with mexico. 100 miles x 35 miles.
Hall of famers:
Esteban de jesus, Rosario, Sixto Escobar( 1st known win in a tittle fight with Mexican), Trinidad, Wilfredo Benitez, Jose Torres, Pedro Montanez, Cortez, Wilferdo Gomez and the great Carlos Ortiz who beat 7 hall of famers yes 7 HOF’ers. Great names you can’t deny.
Soon to be in HOF:
Cotto, Calderon, Camacho, Wilfredo Vazquez & Kid Cocoa
Know PR cheats
Known Mexican cheats
Just the facts people. Don’t hate!!!Posted February 11, 2014 1:36 am
except that PR is not a country. it’s a U.S. territory. you or I can travel to it any time. like going to Catalina Island or the Virgin Islands. you’re not entering an independent country. it belongs to U.S. you might need a passport to travel to Baja but your driver’s license will do when traveling to PR. it’s not a country. it’s a dependent island-territory. always has been.Posted February 9, 2014 10:44 pm
Good One MEX . . . (lol).Posted February 9, 2014 10:41 pm
You want to talk about size…well the small gym in Oxnard California had more Champs in that building than the whole country of PR!!!! BahahahahahahahPosted February 9, 2014 1:42 pm
Gomez , Collazo, Trinidad, Cotto, Juan ma , Abner Cotto, Camacho Jr and Sr,Vasquez Jr, Cintron,Rico Ramos, Thomas Dulorme, ect…..all have been derailed by mexicans….FACTPosted February 9, 2014 1:41 pm
wasn’t Fernando vargas from that little gym in oxnard??
didn’t victor ortiz just recently get his ass kicked by a Rican?
Like it or not Ricans and that tiny little island will be a factor in this sport. we lose yes of course we do. It’s some much hate for PR that amazes me. so many haters. the fact is we lose because we take all of the toughest challenges. why is salvador sanchez great? because he beat a great fighter. if gomez was cherry picking he could have stayed in his division but typical rican takes on all challenges. win or lose.
people always remember the ones they won. forget the ones they lost. how convenient.Posted February 9, 2014 1:08 pm
That tiny Gym from Oxnard Cali..has kicked more PR culo than that whole island has kicked Mexican culo…..Garcia Camp…bahhahahahaha that’s a small gym.Posted February 9, 2014 4:52 am
Another Puerto Rican gets beat again ,,,Adrian Hernandez just beat the heck out of Golden Boy Promising young prospect Janiel Rivera ,,we told you so ,,that the Mexicans are to darn tough for the Puerto rican fighters .Posted February 9, 2014 4:49 am
Wilfredo Gomez – beat 25 mexicans lost to 1
I have gotten a lot of as- whippings from my dad ,,but ” NEVER ” like the one SALVADOR SANCHEZ gave me !!!Posted February 8, 2014 10:54 pm
Why is Miguel Cotto trying to take my position away ..usually i’m the one that gets down on my knees for the Mexican fighters .Posted February 8, 2014 10:51 pm
The smelly Island of Puerto Rico ,doesn’t have anything ,now they don’t even have good fighters ..the Puerto Rican fighters now a days quit . Miguel Cotto quit in his fight against the tough Margarito ,,,Ivan Calderone quit twice against Segura ..,,Rocky Martinez didn’t want to get up after a body shot by Mikey Garcia .Posted February 8, 2014 10:48 pm
I know for a fact that i gave it all i had in the fight against Salvador Sanchez .but he was just to tough for me ..But i can’t forgive Miguel Cotto ,ever !! he went down on his knees in front of Margarito .. the whole Island of Puerto Rico was embarrass ..Posted February 8, 2014 10:10 pm
I hate that Salvador Sanchez ..he made my face look like ” Quasimodo “( The HUNCHBACK OF NOTRE_DAME ) and now my wife wants to have a baby by him . Can’t a Puerto Rican ever get a break ..them Mexican fighters are just to tough ..Posted February 8, 2014 10:04 pm
And the tradition continues ,,the Mexicans kicking the butts off the Puerto Ricans . Cuevas beating Espada 3 times ,,, Rosario getting stop by Ramirez and Chavez Sr. ,, Trinida actually lost to De La Hoya ,, Camacho getting beat by Chavez Sr. and De La Hoya .. Lopez getting stop twice by Salido and Garcia .. Calderone quitting against Segura ,,,AND the Grand DADDY of them all ,,,Margarito making Cotto quit and Salvador Sanchez making Gomez look like a monster and the referee stopping the fight before he killed him ….Posted February 8, 2014 9:54 pm
I read that Gomez was snorting rails and banging hoes the whole night before he fought Sanchez, and he slept like 1 hour. If true that doesn’t minimize Sanchez’s win. Because it also means Gomez knew couldn’t win regardless and this way he’d have an excuse for getting his ass tapped.Posted February 8, 2014 6:45 pm
anonymous. bang on son.Posted February 8, 2014 4:40 pm
I can’t believe how some Puerto Ricans are still coming up with excuses about Salvador Sanchez demolishing Wilfredo Gomez ,,If they have fought 5 times the results would have been the same . Gomez although a great knock out artist could not hurt the iron chin Sanchez .and Sanchez had to much movement and cardio for Gomez .Posted February 8, 2014 4:30 pm
gomez and sanchez both legends. who fought everyone unlike most of the prima donnas of today.Posted February 8, 2014 3:35 pm
“it was a very well known fact that Gomez” partied, Period. as if he had just discovered partying immediately prior to his memorable beatdown at the fists of a Mexican kid named Sanchez. GTFOH with that pap. if Gomez wasn’t great enough of a fighter to take his trade seriously, that’s his memorable loss and it’s part of his fighter-profile. stop your sore-losing pissin and moanin. Gomez got his culo beatdown, Period, and that’s how it will always be remembered . . . “Cannn-Tahhh y no Llores”.Posted February 8, 2014 2:52 pm
Gomez is the greatest fighter in Rican history but he’ll always be second to 22-year-old Sal Sanchez, which pretty much sums up the “rivalry”.Posted February 8, 2014 11:53 am
Gomez wasn’t smart enough to avoid Mexican legend Chava Sanchez who Pummelled him for 8 rounds before dropping him along the ropes. he was smart enough to follow SrMinimo’s advice of staying away from Borinquenas and found himself a Venezuelan wife instead. looks like Sanchez knocked some sense into him. like Chavez did to Rosario and Camacho and Margarito did to Cotto and Segura did to Calderon and Arce did to “Chicanito” Vasquez Jr. and Salido did to JuanMono twice in his own backyard and Garcia just did to Martinez, i.e., what “rivalry”?Posted February 8, 2014 11:51 am
lol. classic.Posted February 8, 2014 10:39 am
Danny Blows…… u sound like u still mad ur boy Canelo got his ass whooped………get over it…… Canelo has fought ONLY one real fighter…. mayweather…..and we all seen what happened to him……. Garcia has already fought more real fighters. And he s.just started……. so stfu!!!!!!!!!!!!!Posted February 8, 2014 10:18 am

Guys are talking PR babes? They’re smoking. One PR babe I knew in college had a magic snatch. She’s one who got away. We don’t get many PR chicks on the west coast but the ones I’ve met are mostly hot, very few of the fuglies.Posted February 7, 2014 7:21 pm
Why’d they decide to go with Herrera anyhow? He’s totally random other than he’s Mexican. Nobody’s interested in a PFP top 10 guy against a 20-3 , 7 KOs journeyman.Posted February 7, 2014 6:42 pm
“But I insist, STAY away from Borinqueñas” SRMINIMO, no rings were exchanged or offered. we also haven’t been back in 12 years and have successfully kept the Gulf, Texas, and Arizona between us. how’s that for staying away?Posted February 7, 2014 4:14 pm
te tumbo – No disrespect taken my man. We jive in here but, as you know by experience, we’ve got nothing but love for our friends (even the new ones). But I insist, STAY away from Borinqueñas. They’re bad news. Believe me, I’ve been married to several of them:)Posted February 7, 2014 4:04 pm
pr women are like their men. they all have moustache”s.Posted February 7, 2014 3:28 pm
” . . . you don’t want to mess with PR women anyway. Unlike most of our prospects lately they’re too feisty”. that’s the appeal not challenge. pushback only gives me focus and who can possibly resist the Tumbo charm? not the feisty boriquenas that we met and no disrespect intended. they were Firme gente who were eager and proud to show a couple of Chicanos from Los a good time.Posted February 7, 2014 2:55 pm
SRMINIMO, long-story-short, it came up when a camarada was going through a divorce, so we went and had a Firme time. enjoyed plenty of rum along with pisto and we weren’t messing around with the women we met. we were serious about sampling some big round island-culo aka The Iris Chacon Syndrome. in fact, being from L.A. was like having a booty-pass on the island, but my best memory was being introduced to “bomba” music and we were regular “bomberos” by the time we left. Btw, we saw pretty much the entire island in one day-trip. that’s how we stumbled upon the Alambique bar. just in time to relax and recharge our batteries. the “perfectly tanned, honey colored beauties” isn’t what we experienced but we weren’t complaining. besides, rucas from around the block go better with rum and pistos and nobody travels to PR to sample the champagne . . . peace.Posted February 7, 2014 2:51 pm
Tark- Maybe te tumbo’s got Robert Guerrero syndrome: a taste for champagne, but can only afford beer. Hey tt, you don’t want to mess with PR women anyway. Unlike most of our prospects lately they’re too feisty.Posted February 7, 2014 10:05 am
Tumbo…, “Perfectly tanned, honey colored beauties were not even remotely near one third of the territory’s entire population.” (in Puerto Rico)
Were they one fourth of the entire population??? That’s 50% of the women in PR.. If there were that many I’d take the next plane to PR.
If one of those perfectly tanned honey colored beauties turned you down — why didn’t you go for some of the less perfectly tanned honey colored beauties??? Don’t be so fussy.Posted February 7, 2014 2:13 am
Te Tumbo- you’ve been going to the wrong part of the island my man:)Posted February 7, 2014 1:04 am

Is that why Danny Garcia CHOSE to STAY AWAY from the real COMPETITION at welter. I mean cause Brandon Rios went up to face Manny Pacquioa and Danny Garcia is set to face what?…… a taxi driver. Yea, real champs or should I say chumps there. Until Danny Garcia goes up and faces someone like Pacquioa, stay quiet, you sound retarded at times.Posted February 6, 2014 9:39 pm

Nobody knows Danny Garcia in Puerco Chico. WHO?! oye quien ese Danny? WHO?! Hilarious….They all look at him like a fraud.Posted February 6, 2014 9:08 pm
I hope this is just a well earned easy fight and he gets back to business of big fights. I like Danny Garcia, he’s a professional and show’s up to fight every time. Hope he can unify the belts or moves up in weight. Garcia vs Pacquiao at MSG or Boardwalk Hall Atlantic City, the roof would be blown off the place. If the money is right why not fill up Jerry World and fill up the place, hell the cowboys don’t use it. I think that fight can happen more than Mayweather vs Pacquiao.Posted February 6, 2014 8:56 pm
I’m gonna be the next CottoPosted February 6, 2014 8:23 pm
Agree it’s about time Garcia started getting some copy.
The kid has proved himself time and again over two years and he’s got plenty left in the tank.
What I like about Garcia is he listens to his old man in the corner between rounds and adapts his game.
Sign of a great champ that.Posted February 6, 2014 7:04 pm
Finally something about future stars instead of these 2 crybaby d/!kheads ( Floyd/Manny). I’m a fan of Danny he’s come along the last 2 yrs/18months. Still only 25 and still loads of room 4 improvement….future looks bright 4 him. Should win this easily. What he does next should b a great fight, so many possibilities.Posted February 6, 2014 5:42 pm
“the million, perfectly tanned, honey colored beauties that cover that little island . . .” SRMINIMO, i’ve been to and can confidently report that they’re good hospitable people but the ratio of “perfectly tanned, honey colored beauties” was not even remotely near 1/3 of the territory’s entire population. if that were the case, i would return more often or even Once.Posted February 6, 2014 5:01 pm

I’m happy for Danny that he gets the opportunity to fight in the country where his parents are from, swift is a good guy definitely a fan of his!Posted February 6, 2014 1:04 pm
