Never “legitimately stopped?” Did you see his rematch with Lennox Lewis? He quit fighting. That’s a stoppage by any definition.

Put him in with Fury. Or put him in with Wilder, or put him in with Wladster.

He will cry in the ring if you hurt his feelings.

Belive it or not but there are on the paper good fights out-there for the former world heavyweight champion Oliver McCall. The 48 year “The Atomic Bull” McCall still have gas left in his tank and still after fought in impressive 72 PRO fights, he have never been knocked down or seriusly hurt in the ring and McCall have been in the ring with several top fighters in his incredible 28 year long pro career.

2 All-time greats like Lennox Lewis x2 & Larry Holmes along with recognised world champions like James Buster Douglas, Frank Bruno, Tony “TNT” Tucker, Orlin Norris, Bruce Seldon, Oleg Maskaev, Henry Akinwande, Francesco Damiani & Juan Carlos Gomez x2.
And ad top contenders like Fres Oquendo, Jesse Ferguson, Lionel Butler, DaVarryl Williamson, Przemyslaw Saleta, Darroll Wilson, Sinan Samil Sam, Lance Whitaker, Cedric Boswell, Timur Ibragimov, Francesco Pianeta and many more, McCall got lots of ring expearence to his advantage.

McCall could be interestingly matched up against up-rising tallants like Deontay Wilder & David Price or mixed ones with Odlianer Solis, David Tua, Lucas Brown, Fabio Eduardo Moli, Michael Grant, Matt Skelton etc so the fight possibilities are there.

Damn mccall is still fighting? Isnt he like 75? Lol

Posted February 3, 2014 12:59 pm

Just imagine what Oliver could have done in his younger days if he had stayed drug free. What a shame!

vitali wish he could say, “I ko’ed Lewis.” Wilder should try old McCalL. McCall might give Wilder some ring time.

Nice to see the former world heavyweight champion “The Atomic Bull” Oliver McCall (57-13-0-2 NC, KO’s 37) is back on track again and this was a nice victory against this 12 year younger undefeated heavyweight contender Marcin Rekowswki (12-1-0 KO’s 10) and paid revenge for his sons loss last year as well. 36 years you can’t say Rekowski is a “young” contender but he have defeated an past prime Danny Williams last year so yeah he got some on his record list.

Lol at McCall brittards hater

This crack heD knocked out lewis

Posted February 2, 2014 7:10 pm

LOL! McCall avenged his sons loss by beating this guy.

Posted February 2, 2014 6:10 pm

Hell why not put him in with WIlder. The only time he got stopped was by Lennox Lewis and that was because he was crying and pretty much quit fighting.

Posted February 2, 2014 6:05 pm

Mr gav

Never been knocked down? That is pretty impressive and he did go 12 rounds with frank Bruno who hit very hard too. But how about McCall vs wilder?? If wilder KOs him you would have to admit that is impressive considering how old mcall is, but what happens if he can’t KO him? He gets tired and and gets koed? He wins or losses on points? Or McCall has another emotional breakdown? I don’t think this fight would ever happen but i would be very interested to see how it pans out

Bigup to McCall. The old lion smacked down a 12-0 prospect. It’ll be nice if he can get a few more paydays. Hard to believe how long ago all his peers like Lewis have been out of the game.

I guess it’s time to retire for McCall junior. If your old man beats the guy who turned your own face into a bloody pulp, guess that says it all.

Posted February 2, 2014 1:23 pm

“that only happened once, which is 3 less times than the number of times Wlad has gotten knocked out”

TWO less times, actually. (A difficult maths problem, admittedly.)

Wladimir has lost three times, all three by KO, in 61 fights.

Mike Tyson lost six times, five by KO (would have been six, but he got himself DQ’d instead), in 50 fights.

Lennox Lewis lost twice, both by KO, in 41 fights.

What’s your point? I really hope you’re not suggesting that Klitschko has “no chin”.

One Man Army

I don’t know, I think if Mcall did retire he would end up worse , but maybe he is just prolonging the inevitable, going back to drugs. He’s like Johny Tapia was, the only thing that helps keep him at least somewhat straight is fighting. If a guy like that can accomplish as much as he did with a history of drug use, imagine what he could’ve done if the drugs weren’t in the equation.

Pride, that only happened once, which is 3 less times than the number of times Wlad has gotten knocked out.

Dan D

The ref in that McCall Jr fight shouldve been pulled out and retrained on how to do his job.e was out of position and did little to protect a clearly hurt and beaten fighter. Refs like him need to find a different career.

Rekowski beat up his son (Elijah McCall) *really* badly too: horrifying to see at the end, with blood splashing onto the camera from the punches etc. Must have been hard for Oliver to watch. Well done to the old man in getting vengeance. It’s like something from a Rocky movie.

Posted February 2, 2014 11:21 am

You’re right, he doesn’t get knocked down, he just suffers bizarre emotional breakdowns when he’s getting beat up.

Posted February 2, 2014 11:16 am

guess Oliver takes it seriously when ya whup his son ! … CONGRATULATIONS Mr. McCall, you’re a warrior, no doubt – retire in Pride !

Posted February 2, 2014 11:12 am

dmx, I souls say mc Call definitely has the best he chin ever. Never even rocked, a prime Tyson’s chief sparring partner, fought Leis (2nd fight wasn’t even rocked with Lewis teeing off on him.) Bruno etc…. Only Vitali’s chin can compare but he was rocked badly vs Sanders so I would put his chin 2nd.

This is a division devoid of any real fighters. This news is more intriguing than what’s been written about all the new hot heavyweight prospects.

Posted February 2, 2014 10:33 am

McCall can still handle guys of this calibre even at his age now. Yeah, after both the Klitschkos have gone, Eastern Europe might not be so dominant in.the heavyweight div…but they’ll still produce a fair number of good prospects.

Posted February 2, 2014 10:21 am

A 50 year old admitted crack head upset one of the few remaining undefeated Eastern European Heavyweights. Boystov, Szpilkva, Abdusamalov, and now Rekowski have all Lost.

Posted February 2, 2014 10:05 am

Stiverne and Wilder want to fight him next. Ol’ Man McCall is exactly the kind of opponent they love!

Exiled Yank

Good for McCall. I don’t see a title fight in his future, but he’s still at it. I just hope he doesn’t get too seriously hurt at some point. Oh wait, he’s a heavy weight. He should be fine for years to come – seeing as the division has no real up and coming threats.

Posted February 2, 2014 8:45 am

Is using a nickname in a title suppose to create drama n excitement?

Posted February 2, 2014 8:11 am

Possibly the best chin ever in Heavyweight boxing

Posted February 2, 2014 8:06 am

Its time for Mccall to retire and try and get a book contract or movie deal for his lifestory.

Sad Ken

Hasn’t even got the 70th thing right, he’s had 72 fights (2 no contests)

….correct title….

The “Atomic Bull” keeps raging: Oliver McCall upsets Polish prospect Rekowski to notch up 57th pro win in his 72nd fight!

Not as much of a ring to it, I suppose.

Posted February 2, 2014 7:43 am

He must of been some prospect to lose to him,

Posted February 2, 2014 7:39 am

“Don’t mess with my Pop!”

Posted February 2, 2014 7:38 am

“McCall, in improving his astonishing record to 57-13 (37) scored his 70th pro win.” Huh? Unless I’m missing something, surely he scored his 57th win in his 70th fight?

Posted February 2, 2014 7:37 am

Oliver is on borrowed time. I understands he needs the Money but he might get himself seriously hurt. Wawrzyka, If I got his name right doesn’t have the Power to scare Oliver nor hurt him. However it doesn’t change the fact that Oliver needs to hang them up.

Love it. Go oliver!
