Froch jas a great resume, forgetting his socalled win over Grooves.
But he has taken so much heavy beating that he can’t be ok.

Kessler and Grooves will continue hurting Frochs brain, Hopkins is an easy opponent at this point.

If Froch wants to stay healthy he forgets about Kessler, Grooves, Stevenson and Kovalev.

The old Froch would do well with an old american name, like Calzaghe did it.

One thing is clear; Froch is finished, we saw that in the Grooves fight.

You look at his face and when they meet again see how tainted it is…When Froch is working him over and mullers him, don’t forget to come on here and tell it like it is….

Posted January 15, 2014 11:04 am

Froch won’t fight Groves again, he knows Groves will nail him next time, Froch will run away and the British public will always remember that about him and his so called legacy will be tainted forever. Groves entered the Arena to 20,000 people booing him, but he left a hero with 20,000 cheering him. Froch was booed out of the ring. Froch lost as massive amount of respect and fans that night. Groves has damaged him mentally far more than Froch will ever admit. Listen to what he is saying now, look at his face when he talks about Groves. Froch is scared of Groves now.

Froch has earned the right to fight who he likes and when he likes…Groves the screamer and others talk about “legacy”…….IF “legacy”is such an almighty big thing to some, why doesn’t Groves cement his own and fight DeGale….which was a much closer call than the Froch fight….No he goes around telling anyone who will listen he was robbed…..

Posted January 15, 2014 2:54 am

I guess it’s interesting… but Groves gets KO’d… Froch needs to defend well early, and he’s not that good a defender — but Groves is even easier to hit than Froch, so if the fight goes to the 9th and 10th he’s getting knocked out.

It’s a genuine grudge fight… They hate each other… That always makes it interesting. Froch thinks Groves is a flammmming friggate, which is always interesting … That was the deal between Griffith and Paret.

Froch-Groves II sounds good to me…

Posted January 14, 2014 7:41 pm

No one, I take it, is saying that Froch is a “coward” in the sense that he’s “scared of” Groves. Rather, they’re saying that Froch seems to be scared of *losing to* Groves. They don’t doubt his toughness as if he’s scared of getting hurt, but they think the fight was stopped prematurely — at a point when Froch was losing badly — and they want him to prove that he is really the better fighter. If he can do that, he can still legitimately claim to be the second best in his division, and will have earnt the right for a rematch against Ward, the consensus P4P no. 2. If he doesn’t, it’ll be a shadow that follows him for years to come.

In my opinion, Froch-Groves II is by far the best British fight that can be made at the moment, and that’s testimony to Froch being an exciting fighter and a warrior. If he fights e.g. Chavez Jr instead, he will be letting the British fans down, since no one is really interested in that fight. Plus, Chavez Jr is not even rated as highly as Groves as a super-middleweight, and while it’d get a lot of Mexican fans to Las Vegas supporting Chavez, it would be nothing like the kind of event Froch-Groves II would be in a massive arena in the UK. Would he even get paid more for such a fight in the States? I doubt it.

This one is fascinating and great to see you all go at it. Everyone saw the fight so differently, Groves gave a great performance and Froch will not forget this fight in a hurry. I changed my mind on the stoppage, initially i thought it was early, then watched it again and again and think it was almost perfect, Groves was slumped over and waiving an arm at a target he wasnt even looking at. Froch is hard as they come and does not have to give the rematch, but very well may do because of the demand, but he will be going after Ward. Who the hells knows what would happen in a rematch, this is fascinating stuff from two games and honest men who should not be spoken about in any other way.

Anyone who uses words like ‘coward’ against Carl Froch knows little about boxing and clearly hasn’t seen his fights. Froch stated his 2 outstanding ambitions in the sport as headlining in Vegas & a rematch with Ward. With Ward’s injuries it’s harsh to blame either for a rematch not yet taking place, it’s likely that Froch will want a Vegas fight, then Ward. Froch vs Groves is big money but it’s not as lucrative as JCC Jnr in Vegas. I would like to see this rematch but Froch’s legacy doesn’t rest on it any more than Calzaghe, Lewis, JCC, Hatton or any other champions who didn’t give rematches that fans called for. Unless you’re prepared to call them all cowards, spare your hissy fits.

Posted January 14, 2014 2:51 pm

Carl Froch

I’m not a coward! I just don’t want to fight against Groves again cause he might beat me, that’s all. If that makes me a coward, then call me a coward.

Froch had 32 fights, all good fights, after one bum fight, which he won on a stoppage by a ref who was convinced Groves was gone and Groves screaming like a girlie boy,he is labelled by so called fight fans as a coward and they have lost respect for him..Barlow calls it premature….So that’s not Carls fault…If the money is right Froch will take the fight….But you are really a deluded fight fan if you think for one moment Froch is afraid of Groves

After everything you’ve accomplished Carl, being called a coward with no calls is a really bad way to finish your career. Seriously, you need to fight Groves again, and let your fists do all the talking this time, because all that “Groves needs to pay me respect” is turning people against you. Be more humble, and you’ll find people will respect you more, and be willing to blow your trumpet on your behalf.

It really made me laugh when Eddie Hearn said Froch v Chavez is a big PPV in America. It’s as obvious as can be that Froch is desperately trying to avoid fighting Groves again.

Posted January 14, 2014 10:30 am

Froch is a warrior…no doubt. He fought in other peoples backyard, fought in the very tough super 6 tournement. And I belive he only has 2 or 3 big fights left in him.And ofcourse he is going to go for the biggest paydays..biggest fights. But saying that the Groves rematch fits that description..big money big fight. That is why Im surpised he isnt jumping at the rematch, and he did beat Groves with a stoppage, and yes it was premature..but it was coming anyway.I dont belive all that nonsence Froch is a coward talk…you dont do all the things Froch did and accomplised what he did by being a coward. But why he seems to be side stepping this fight is strange.Unless ofcourse hes building it up more and more and playing a mind game with Groves who isnt use to the spot light like Froch hoping this could crack Groves.Would like to see the rematch…lets see if it happens!!!

Posted January 14, 2014 10:09 am

Froch has to make the rematch happen. He’s made a career of saying he’ll face anyone. He wants Ward to give him a rematch but won’t give one to Groves? Come on Carl, be the warrior we know you are and take the rematch.

Posted January 14, 2014 7:38 am

This is the fight the fans wants And Froch knows it. Dont wanna see froch in a boring loss again to Ward. I rather see Groves beat Ward around for 3 or 4 rounds.

Froch has already said he won’t fight Groves again. It’s quite clear Froch is scared of Groves and refuses to man up and fight Groves again for that reason. There’s a ton of money to be made in a rematch at Wembley stadium with an 80,000 crowd, but Froch would rather run away than fight Groves again.

Posted January 14, 2014 12:27 am

Of course it WON’T happen, because Froch has NO BALLS!

You don’t walk a fighter down having been put on your ass thinking your chin was granite.

Froch would rather face a fat blown up Chavez than put his bollocks on the line.

Posted January 13, 2014 9:10 pm

Fred’s right. For me, the best part of the lesson Groves was teaching Froch was when the ropes stopped George from falling over backwards on his ass about 3 seconds before the stoppage. Either that or a moment later when Groves stumbled forward into the ref who kept him from falling on his face.

Posted January 13, 2014 7:46 pm

these idiots are probably carl froch and his fat brother wrighting crap with different names cos no one in the world believes that that stoppage was the right thing to do froch was really tired also he was being schooled.

Froch is the 1 who shud b annoyed with the ref stopping the fight prematurely coz it was pretty clear he was just about 2 ko groves at that point anyway

As a fan I only want to see the rematch with Groves. Ward beat him and would again, and I think GGG would knock him out. Chevez would be his easiest fight.

Carl Froch

In the post fight interview, I told Groves I would rematch him, but after watching the fight on the tele I decided not to. Plus Groves was mean to me so I didn’t want to.

Posted January 13, 2014 6:51 pm

Freddie Roach Ate My Hamster

In a rematch Groves would either keep his distance for a points win or Froch would walk him down & give him a beating. In my opinion it’s more likely that Froch would catch up with Groves. Personally I do think the ref stepped in too early but also think that GG was naive as he looked like he stopped defending himself. Froch was landing free head shots and was probably seconds from a non-controversial stoppage. George should’ve taken a knee or tied up, his inexperience showed.

I’d like to see a rematch but not as much as another Froch vs Kessler (my fight of the year was Froch vs Kessler 2) or a rematch with Ward. Froch holds the IBF title & all the cards. He’ll do the same as Calzaghe did and take the fights which make him the most money before retiring. This talk of it harming his legacy if he doesn’t rematch Groves is just shallow talk. People will remember Froch for his comebacks, world title fights, his battles and his long run of hard fights. He won’t be remembered badly by anyone who didn’t already dislike him.

No way does Groves rate another shot — despite the fact that the IBF title is somewhat less than an actual world title. There are plenty of world-class foes for a supposed “world champion” to face. Froch himself should be clamoring for a rematch with the champion Andre Ward and attempt to win the real title, something he’s not yet done.

Unfortunately neither fighter has a prayer against the actual world champion Andre Ward, so this is like playing with Monopoly money anyway.

How about letting some top level contenders get in the mix. Groves had his shot — showed he was “tough” (as if that’s some kind of skill) and when it came time to win or lose he couldn’t get there.

Next opponent please.

This is the only option for Froch… Lets hope he realises this, any other fight people will see this as a major swerve and Froch with his hard man image can not afford this!

No need for a rematch. Froch convincingly TKO Groves and the ref saved Groves from permanent injury. A rematch would finish faster with Groves psyche now blown out of the water.

How would you have felt if Kessler hadn’t given you a rematch?

Give George the rematch, and prove that you’re the better fighter by beating him good and proper this time.
