“It’s NOT a pick-em fight… Kovalev runs Stevenson over like road kill.” This.

Kovalev won’t go far as long as he’s white.

Bellew can’t trouble Stevenson… He couldn’t trouble Cleverly.

i think bellew could give stevenson a lil test he taller and a lil bigger if bellew use his jab from the out he can trouble stevenson but in the end the speed of stevenson and angles going tp be the differences i dont think bellew will be able to cope with that speed and stevenson show some flashes of defense when he fought cloud i think his defense is improving he a good counter puncher i dont think stevenson going to knock bellew out with one punch i think adonis going to have to break him down to the body and up give bellew a beating bellew dont move his head much so i see stevenson landing that left all day i think bellew best bet is to pressure stevenson back him up use the jab to set up the right when he get close go to his body but adnois can fight on the backfoot a lil bit to but i see stevenson winning tho

hey everybody got there opinions to me it a pick em fight kovalev is a beast but it stilll questions about him that havent been answer yet he never been tested yet right now he going through everybody with ease but when he fight sombody he aint going to be able to go through so easy then we see what he about he still havent been enough rounds yet if he can fight in the later rounds like he do in the early rounds with that same pace then he going to be hard to beat like i said before when dont know how good his chin is people talk about can stevenson handle kovalev power we dont know if kovalev can handle stevenson power we see how both look on saturday i do agree that sillakh going to give kovalev a good test for sure

Posted November 28, 2013 4:12 am

Sillakh is a better oppenent then Stevenson.
To bad kovalev vs Sillakh doesn’t get more attention, in my eyes it’s the two best in the light Heavy div fighting each other.

Posted November 28, 2013 3:34 am

Kovalev-Stevenson is a little like the Matthysse-Peterson fight… The difference is that Kovalev has a jab, and can defend better than Matthysse.

It’s NOT a pick-em fight… Kovalev runs Stevenson over like road kill.

the same thing can be said about kovalev to he never fought a big puncher himself stevenson will be the biggest puncher he face alot of people might not be that impressed with stevenson but he came a long way if you look at when he first started till now he got way better when he first started he was raw he was just a puncher his conditions wasn good then when he train with manny steward that when he improve he started to set up his power now he is boxing more his technique got better and his conditions but stevenson chin is still suspect tho and we dont know how good of a chin kovalev got cause he never been hit by a hard puncher that why it a pick em fight

von Pugsly

Great matchup! Sillakh is a live dog in this fight. I know he got caught by Grachev but he had a stellar amateur background and could conceivably outbox Kovalev or even test his chin. Problem is that Sillakh has a shaky chin and Kovalev can crack, so I expect Kovalev to prevail by (T)KO, whatever the scorecards read at the time of the stoppage.

Posted November 27, 2013 7:44 pm

Can I point something out? Sillakh is a good fighter but he gets hurt very badly when he’s tagged clean by a heavy puncher. Kovalev, one of the, if not the hardest puncher in te light heavies. This kid will look good for a few seconds or maybe a few rounds. He’s not got the chin to absorb what will be hitting his face. He can be a good, sound boxer with skill; but he will get caught and will not recover. As for Stevenson, he is a good fighter has a good shot, but he’s never been in with anyone that can crack as hard as him or harder. He will win against bellew I think but there are alot of questions. I’m not sold and I doubt VERY HIGHLY he beats Kovalev or even lasts to the final bell for the matter. But, just my opinion, as I said there are lots of questions about Adonis that are unanswered but he has shown good so far for sure.

Posted November 27, 2013 6:55 pm

Kovalev can and will beat checken Ward for sure.

squibly. Are you a real man? Or just a man who likes a real man over girls?

Posted November 27, 2013 3:46 pm

Mayweather is a crissy. A real man is a warrior but floyd fights like a girl. Ward at least comes to fight when the ref forces him to fight. Kovelev is a real man.

Please, I have been posting on this site since 2000. You are definitely trying to be me but people know you are a fake because you have no boxing knowledge

Posted November 27, 2013 2:25 pm

It’s so sad that people insist on using my screen name. Can’t they get their own? I disagree with The Garbageman, Groves beats Ward at 168.

Posted November 27, 2013 2:07 pm

The Garbageman

I agree with PEEJ, not a single person at 168 can beat Ward. Groves looked to be on his way to being KOd. Unfortunately the ref stopped that from happening.

Posted November 27, 2013 1:40 pm

And maybe Froch in a rematch. But that’s it.

Posted November 27, 2013 12:54 pm

Apart from Groves.

Posted November 27, 2013 12:53 pm

Not a single person at 168 can beat Ward.

Posted November 27, 2013 12:49 pm

Ward handles Groves. Not issues.

Posted November 27, 2013 12:48 pm

But if Groves vs Ward did happen I would heavily favour Groves by KO. As would the vast majority of experts.

Posted November 27, 2013 12:46 pm

Ward already handled Froch, so there is no avoiding there. Groves has unfinished business with Froch because it looked that Froch may have been on his way to stopping Groves. If that where to happen no need for a Groves vs Ward fight.

Posted November 27, 2013 12:39 pm

Ward will move up to 175 to avoid Groves or Froch.

Posted November 27, 2013 9:43 am

i think andre ward wanted to move up to 175 but i think virgil hunter wanted him to stay at 168 for a lil bit eventually ward going to have to move up cause it nobody at 168 to test him we know he beat carl froch again unless anthony dirrell look good beating sakio bika then maybe him and ward can fight i always thought the dirrell brothers could challenge ward more then anybody else at 168 idk what happen to andre dirrell

Posted November 27, 2013 3:24 am

Kovalev is a killer but sillkah is no joke the only fight he lost he was winning every minute of the fight

Posted November 27, 2013 2:21 am

If Kovalev and Stevenson win their fights, they might fight each other, or possibley get a fight with Ward. However, Ward wants to fight 147lb. 154lb. and 160 lb. fighters. Ward will not fight outside his hometown without his referee, judges, boxing commission, commentators, etc.

I expect Kovalev and Stevenson to win their fights, but it could be difficult fight for both, we will see. Stevenson has been calling out Ward, said he would fight Ward at 175 or go down to 168, Ward refuses to answer him.

Posted November 27, 2013 1:18 am

I gotta agree with Boxtra. Hopkins is such a master of defence he won’t even get in the ring with Kovalev. Now that IS a defensive masterclass to make sure of not getting KOéd. Hahaha. Kovalev and Stevenson for the ‘W’ and then a ‘Super’ fight to determine the No.1 LHW.

Posted November 26, 2013 11:40 pm

The author makes it sound like Kovalev win is done deal.
Far from it. Ismayl is very, very good.

Posted November 26, 2013 8:59 pm

Go Sillakh!!! I am going to Quebec to see this one.

Posted November 26, 2013 8:57 pm

He hasn’t gone to 175 cause he makes 168 easily. No need to move up before he needs too. I would say in another year he will move up

Posted November 26, 2013 8:46 pm

Good fights…Bellew and Sillakh are abit over matched…but it should be good overall…

Ward won’t go to 175 anyhow. Don’t know why unless he doesn’t like what he sees up there. He’s cleaned out 168.

Posted November 26, 2013 8:35 pm

I agree with Boxtra. Kovalev is the only fighter I can see giving Ward problems down the line but based on his versatility and the level of opposition he has beaten I have to lean towards Ward.

Fight Aficionado

Kovalev and Stevenson both win by KO. Hopefully this is a prelude to them fighting each other. Meantime I”ll presume Bhop’s fighting another dude we never heard of.

Posted November 26, 2013 7:48 pm

But no one is going to beat Kovalev until he faces Ward. And Ward isn’t guaranteed to WIN that one. That’s a 60-40 Fight. But Ward’s ability to smother you, change speeds, range, and tactics is going to frustrate Kovalev and get Ward the WIN. It’s going to take a Ward MASTERPIECE though.

the kovalev and sillakh fight going to be a good one not to many people or nobody giving sillakh a chance rightfully so kovalev been on a terror but the skills and talent of sillakh got to be respected tho even he kinda fell off the wagon when he got stopped in a fight he was winning and his chin is question mark and that not good when u fighting a punching machine like kovalev but sillakh is a good boxer tho he slick and crafty with good footwork who throws good feints i dont think kovalev face a boxer like sillakh the questions is can sillakh handle kovalev power and can he get out the early rounds i think sillakh got to use his jab and feints if he can make kovalev miss he got to make him pay he got to be ready to counter when kovalev start throwing punches he cant cover up and just let him hit you u got to try to counter off that easiser said then done but kovalev is a beast tho but i do think sillakh can test him tho idk about beating him unless sillakh prove he can take a good shot if he could then he even got a better chance of getting a upset but it proably unlikely he can take kovalev power tho for to long but we see

Kovalev won’t TKO Hopkins. Hopkins is one of the few Defensive MASTERS of Boxing.

Posted November 26, 2013 6:58 pm

Mr Gav

Sillakh had a decent amateur career but has a pro has never lived up to his potential, however he shows good skills being hard to hit good counters and could make kovalev work hard for his victory. As for Stevenson I feel he may be over rated he beat a Dawson who suffers a big tko against ward who is not known for his power so you could say Dawson was shot at the time he fought Stevenson. As for cloud the guy had one good win against Clinton woods and lost to someone old enough to be his dad in his last fight and showed little hart to beat Stevenson, so you could say who really has Stevenson beaten compared to bellow? Tony has come here to win he has looked bad in fights but he dose improve. He is not technically gifted but he shows great hart to win fights. I see bellow giving Stevenson a lot of trouble or just a tough fight, Stevenson will win but I’m just saying bellow is decent enough to win. But all in all a very good test for both champions who are sure to win and meet in a mega fight that kovalev will win. My predictions kovalev beats sillakg tko 9 Stevenson UDs bellow. Kovalov tkos Stevenson 9

Kovalev and Stevenson both by stoppage.

i see stevenson stopping bellew around the 7th round or 8th i mean bellew is tough as they come with a good chin and he a good right hand i see stevenson being to fast tho and to athletic for bellew i think bellew going to be eating punches all day from stevenson but tony got alot of heart so i dont see him going out easy he going to give it his all but i think stevenson is the better boxer and better athlete the speed and the power going to be to much for bellew to handle if stevenson look impressive in this fight this been a good year from stevenson beating chad dawson and tavoris cloud and if he beeat bellew in impressive fashion 2013 been a good year from adonis

Posted November 26, 2013 6:31 pm

one feels nothing but pity for stevenson his future is clouded

Posted November 26, 2013 6:29 pm

Kovalev vs Clev reminded me of Hagler vs Minter

Posted November 26, 2013 6:02 pm

Sillakh and Bellew will come to win so I expect a pair of good fights

Kovelev is very entertaining, looking forwsrd to this fight no matter who it is.

Stevens dido.

totaly agree gav, looking forward to the Kovalev bout

Posted November 26, 2013 5:16 pm

Kovalev and stevenson will both win by stoppage. An accumulator must be quite good odds actually.

Posted November 26, 2013 5:15 pm

mr gav

This is an excellent card. Though the champs are big favourites to win they have no easy task ahead of them.
