Weaver should watch what he says when he says ref Joey Curtis bet on the Dokes fight he was refereeing, it could be considered actionable meaning ref Curtis or his estate, if he is dead, could sue Mike Weaver, tracking down the guy for slander. Mike Weaver should be able to back up his words.

Weaver lost to both Bobick bros. Duane and Rodney. Liked the praise he gives the Klitschko bros.

Thank you for this update on Mike Weaver. His toughness, and his rebounding from so many losses earlier in his career to reach the top of his sport, made him extremely easy to root for. I’m thrilled that he is healthy and happy these days, and I continue to wish him well!!!

Mike Weaver was a good World Champion….shame the way his Title was stolen from him…..rematch too

Mike Weaver was a notoriously slow starter….and he was real hard to cheer for….as he seemed to wait….and wait….and…..did I say wait …
That career crushing end to his Title Match with Big John Tate surprised almost everyone !! It was that notorious slow start that allowed that questionable quick stoppage between Dokes and Weaver…..I never liked ref tony curtis

Weaver had the best body ever

I knew Weaver was going to KO Tate in the 15th… He literally destroyed Tate’s career… Weaver has great respect for the Klitschkos and what they’ve accomplished — unlike Earnie Shavers who constantly says he’d have knocked out Foreman, Frazier, the K Bros, or anyone else you bring up — even though he was KO’d by Quarry, Stander, Marcado, Cobb, Lyle, Holmes, and others, and wouldn’t fight Weaver who would have done the same job on him.

Hagler bruised Floyd, Troy and Lloyd´s bodies and broke Troy´s nose in sparring.
Troy had 20 wins, all via knockout.

Floyd Weaver once told me that Troy buckled Haglers knees in sparring once. I believe all of Troy’s wins were by KO. I could be wrong, but I believe this is so.

quote Mix: If it existed at the time & he could maintain 200lb then Weaver would have been a great cruiserweight champion.
Do you really mean a great cruiserweight champion? maybe, but than without a David Haye, Marco Huck, Steve Cunningham etc.

Troy, Floyd and Lloyd Weaver worked as Marvin Hagler´s sparring partners for the Leonard fight.
I watched Leonard-Hagler and to me, Leonard´s win was fair. 115-114. 6-5-1 in rounds.

I met Mike Weaver about 15 or 16 years ago in a gym in Pasadena, Ca. A helluva nice guy. I also knew his brothers; they were triplets, Troy, Floyd and Lloyd. They were built like Hercules also, and boy could they hit.

Weaver gave Holmes a good fight in 1979.

Weaver had to be one of the best left hookers of all time
