“That fight was painful to sit through waiting for the Garcia vs Mattyse fight. I wasn’t impressed with Theophane or the other guy…” – Cosign. We got our brews and went out to the BBQ. Snorebore fight.

Ashley – I have mad respect for your hustle and persistence. Not many would have the stones to go to the US and pay their dues in gyms there. It shows tremendous heart and character.

At the same time you lost to Cano and you lost to Hamilton before then. If you lose your next fight you’ll be what 0-3? I’m not looking forward to more articles from you as a happy and grateful loser so please starch whoever they line you up against next. Peace and good luck.

I have to say the Theophane-Cano fight was an entertaining one, 2nd best after Garcia-Matthyse. Cano took the fight in my view with his aggressiveness. Theophane has good stuff and would give a lot of good fighters trouble. He had Delvin Rodriguez wobbled in the last round of their fight and gave Danny Garcia all he could handle.

6 comments sandwiched between articles with extensive interest. Hmmm. Who’s still trying to propagate the overhyped sleazefest The One? Does it rank with Thrilla in Manilla yet?

That fight was painful to sit through waiting for the Garcia vs Mattyse fight. I wasn’t impressed with Theophane or the other guy at all and was relieved when the final bell rang. This article seems like a cry for attention or recognition as if his fight was of some relevance to the sport or even to the undercard. I wish Theophane the best but tired of reading his statements on ESB. Seems like the guy is a legend in his own mind.

I don’t know man you come off as someone with zero self esteem.
Start believing in your own abilities have some self respect and stop grovelling.

Great inspirational article. Sometimes we tend to overlook the power of gratefulness or forget how we got where we are today. We can certainly reach our goals by working hard at them, but it makes a huge difference when someone else comes along and helps us along the way.

This article brings me back to the late Alexis Arguello. He was a decent person and great fighter with lots of heart and, especially, great punching power. But whether he won or lost in the ring, his character outside the ring was always intact.

You, Theophane, show lots of class and I wish you well. We, the boxing fans, need more fighters like you; however, and more importantly, the sport of boxing needs many fighters with your character and humbleness.

ONCE AGAIN ANOTHER PIECE of impeccable journalism by TREASURE. Other scribes on this site take notice, please.

I’ve followed Treasure’s career with interest for a long time now, but even closer, ever since I got a chance to see him spar with my mate lightweight Alex D. A couple years back at Spencer Fearon’s gym. He’s a consumate pro, with no airs and graces who works hard at trying to improve himself and be the best he can be. This ethos spills out into everything he does and in every piece he writes and I for one commend him on this.

Ashley’s been shafted in title fights before, but his attitude is to quite b**ching and just work harder, which is fresh in this day and age. He’s been in with some of the big dogs like SWIFT, pushing them to tight decisions and deserves another chance to reach for the top.

Well he’s the only one reminiscing about his fight, which nobody else can remember.
