Should be an interesting fight ; once those two loudmouthed , blowhards face off with their big mouths ! May the BIGGER MOUTH win !

Haye is 50 times better than Cunningham. He saw what Cunningham did, he’s not gonna run from Fury. Fury doesn’t have cannon straight right and left hook like Wlad.

He’s ring savy enough now that he should be able to infuse old Wlad excitement with new Wlad awareness. Like put his foot on the gas a little more.

Your right Lucas. Sad but true.

Posted October 8, 2013 6:51 am

Hamster.., “Lewis had some dull fights, but he clearly has more of a killer instinct than Wlad.”

I disagree with that.. Lewis never fought an Olympic Gold Medal Winner.. Mavrovic was as dull a fight as you ever saw. I beleve Wladimir takes Mavrovic out in 5 rounds.

Wladimir took Jefferson, Austin, Wolfgramm, Bostice, Moli, Nicholson, and Castillo out early.. Lewis was a massive puncher.. Wladimir is a massive puncher … Ali, Holmes, Holyfield, Moorer, Byrd, and some others weren’t massive punchers.. Who gives a crap???

Wladimir is not trying to be somebody else… He’s Wladimir.

Posted October 8, 2013 2:15 am

I do remember pre Steward Wlad. To me he was much more exiting. Today he will do 12 rds with Adamek. He should put to sleep those kind of fighters within 3 rounds.

Posted October 8, 2013 12:23 am

No huggy bear Wlad in them days!

Posted October 7, 2013 10:47 pm

Sorry I meant to say “HE” would come out guns blazing, not me.

Posted October 7, 2013 10:46 pm

@TARK – Lewis had some dull fights, but he clearly has more of a killer instinct than Wlad.

That is why guys like Golota, Grant, Ruddock got wiped out in two round vs Lewis. If Wlad fought the same version of those guys, he`d outbox and soften them up for 5 rounds then KO them in the second half.

Posted October 7, 2013 8:47 pm

Its good to see 2 top guys fighting each other in this era.The only time it seems guys take a step-up its when its for a title shot.

Swedish Boxing Fan.., “Wladimir just don’t have that killer instinct to KO his opponents when he haves the chanse like Lennox Lewis was great at.”

Lewis didn’t step it up versus Holyfield or Mavrovic.. Those fights were boring as Hell—because nobody was doing any fighting.. No knock downs and no big punches landed.

At least Wladimir tried to KO the reluctant Povetkin … knocking him down 4 times before Povetkin went into an even tighter shell.

News flash to Team Fury fans: Baby Hughie will be fighting Istvan Ruzsinszky 11-8(3)-1 this Sunday at Whitwick, UK. The 25-year old 5’11” Hungarian is rated # 366 by Boxrec, and is a definite step down from Darch and McPhilbin, Hughie’s 2 previous opponents. Ruzsinszky looks like a stay busy opponent for the 19-year old Hughie, who’s also scheduled to fight in November and again on the Haye-Fury undercard of Feb. 8th.

Posted October 7, 2013 11:55 am

Fury is feather fisted, and has bad defense, he’s peaked… There’s nothing more to be said.

Posted October 7, 2013 9:38 am

People have got to give up on this Fury got put down by a journeyman!
So did Wlad, people!
Even Barrett managed to put Haye on his arse too; its why we love the HW division, because anyone can put down or KO anyone else!
Other than Vitali Klitschko, than man has a pure granite jaw…

Posted October 7, 2013 9:30 am

Tony Galento,

Completely agree mate. Im no Fury or Haye fan, but im praying that Fury wins, because i also believe he is the only HW at the mo who could at least make a fight with Wlad look decent.
As you say, he is tall enough so that Wlad cannot lean on, rough enough so Wlad cant play about like he just did, has half decent power and chin.
The only problem for him is simple, his defence is piss-poor, Wlad would land those straight one-two’s all night long, and Wlad is far quicker with better technique.
But other than Tyson, i cant see ANYONE giving Wlad any more trouble than he got on Saturday evening

Posted October 7, 2013 9:28 am

TonyG, Amir like Malik Scott? I don’t think so bud. Two TOTALLY different styles. Malik tries to out point people. Amir Mansour is an animal. Tony, let me ask you how Cunningham is such a great test and went the distance with Gavern and Mansour broke Gavern in half in 1 round? Tyson Fury wouldn’t ever fight Mansour, he knows he’ll get his chin dented.

MNboxingFAN – Sean

I want to watch this fight… do I think it’ll get postponed again or canceled outright? Yes. Both of these fighters run their mouths and need to have them shut. Watching two morons pound each other isn’t what boxing is about… but damn it if it isn’t fun sometimes. This should be a fun fight to watch after the talking ends and the bell for round one rings.

Fury’s mouth is cashing checks his body can’t pay….he’s not that good at all. He hasn’t earned the right 2 dis Wlad

Posted October 7, 2013 1:42 am

I think Fury should fight Amir Mansour if you want to talk about someone beating Gavern to support their resume. Amir Mansour would break Fury in half.

Posted October 6, 2013 11:13 pm

It’s Me, Ernie

I don’t think that would be boring, Fury will easily fold against a stronger opponent. It’s not that Wladdie is that good, it’s that Fury is that bad…

Posted October 6, 2013 8:49 pm

Coach, I watched the fight and I don’t think he was throwing heavy with every shot. But even if he was, we are back to square 1, he’s not a heavy hitter or known as a KO puncher. So even had that been the case, as a cruiser he didn’t have many KOs, why would he suddenly be Ike Ibeabuchi?

Posted October 6, 2013 6:21 pm

Tyson Fury will loose to Klichko in very boring, boring fight too…
I believe the fight will be much more boring than Povetkin try.
If Fury will try to escalate, it will not last past round two.

Posted October 6, 2013 4:32 pm

Cunningham was fighting unlike he has ever fought did u not see that everything he threw he loaded up on he was fighting to survive to keep fury away he was winging every right hand like it was his last breath he took hats off to steve and thats why there was more power in those punches than a normal steve cunningham

Posted October 6, 2013 3:54 pm

Assyrian, look at the physiques of fury and Klitschko, you think Wlad wouldn’t have his way with him however he wanted to tie him up just because hes taller? cunningham is feather fisted with a record that proves as much. Not to mention that record is all cruiserweight fights with the last fight being his first i think at heavy. Had that been Klitschko that dropped him, he’d either be out or get up to go back down. But it’s just opinion and I could of course be wrong.

Posted October 6, 2013 2:18 pm

Tomato Can Stan

The Klitschkos would give Fury a very bad hiding…….Fury, who was hurt against a journeyman.

Haye is a trash talker but he is super talented with speed power and good skills overall. He has more right to chirp IMO than Fury. You can’t punch your own face with a hybrid uppercut and get decked by a cruiser and then declare yourself the best heavy in the solar system. That’s only good in a comedic sense.

Posted October 6, 2013 9:36 am

That was for anon. Mouse..

Hey, nobody is asking you to come, by all means staying out where you are will keep us content. And go get your facts and stats right. UK has strict gun laws but that just means more people have been killed by knives and other silverware. Don’t be disillusioned to your own stink.

Posted October 6, 2013 9:32 am

KL, you’re spot on bro. I agree.

Posted October 6, 2013 9:30 am

Assyrian, how though? If Cunningham knocked him flat then what would a left hook followed by a straight right do to Fury? And I highly doubt he would have a chance period because the only way you have a chance against Wlad is having a heavy punch which I don’t feel Fury has. So He has nothing that would get Wlad’s respect or give him reason to stay away. Wlad WOULD close the show on him.

Posted October 6, 2013 9:29 am

Jake and the fatman

I am glad I did not pay to see this fight. Fair play to Povetkin he really gave it his best shot and he is a good fighter but Wlads style of boxing mixed in with Jiu Jitsu made last nights fight really dreadful to watch. the referee was a complete mute in there and if he had done his job properly we would have seen a much better fight or even a disqualification. I respect Wlad as a person and have even enjoyed his fights in the past but that drivel on show in Moscow has made me want to see him get dethroned more than ever. People hate on Fury but you cannot argue the guy is very entertaining from punching himself in the face and some good performances against Johnson and Chisora etc to getting up off the canvas twice to go on and stop those opponents and then the singing to top it off was hilarious. I would much prefer him to be champion than Haye. Its only my opinion but Haye should not get a title shot till he beats 3-4 ranked contenders.

Posted October 6, 2013 9:26 am

Come on guys, it’s pretty obvious Fury wants to get Wlad’s attention to secure a title shot, win lose or draw (though in all probability lose), Fury can still brag that he fought for a world title and retire earning millions.
The young Fury likes to play the fool, but he’s actually got a sound business head on him.

Posted October 6, 2013 9:23 am

I used to like Fury. But now I look at him the same was as Haye. Just a disgusting foul mouth tramp.

Posted October 6, 2013 8:49 am

Fury is on the money

Posted October 6, 2013 8:39 am

Posted October 6, 2013 8:07 am

Oh, and Fury can keep mouthing. Together with his mouth and timing to use it (Haye injury, Klitshko fight etc) he’s a smart busnessman indeed. This actually can be a recipe for him to get a title fight just like Haye got his, although I hope Wlad is smarter this time with another all-talk British fighter.

Posted October 6, 2013 8:06 am

Maybe Wlad had a death-threat from the Russian mafia if he’d KO Povetkin, so he fought him single-handed most of the fight. :)

Squared-Circle Real Talk (a.k.a. The Lion King of Beat Street)

Congratulations to Wladimir Klitschko (61-3-0 KO’s 51) for finaly defeating Alexander Povetkin (26-1-0) after have waited 4 years for the fight and knocking down Povetkin 4 times was great in the process. This was Wladimir’s 14th straight world title defence and 24th title fight in total and still counting as his title reign is so far the 3rd best in heavyweight history with 7 years as champ. Only Larry Holmes with his 7 years and 20 title defences at 2nd place and Nr.1 Joe Louis with record 11 years and 25 world title defences. BUT the fact is that Wladimir Klitschko did not fight his best performance against Alexander Povetkin and even if the scorecards unanimusly clear said 119-104 and 4 knockdowns for the credit of Klitschko, it was still not the fight all expected from the champ. All that clinching and holding just did not deliverd a world class title fight and the referee Luis Pabon was sadly a poore choise of a referee for this fight as he let Wladimir clinch that much without giving him a single warning or point reduction for that. I mean I wanted to see Wladimir doo better here and I will blame the referee a lot here for not putting some rule pressure on Wladimir as he is a very smart champion and would naturally fight in a diffrent way then BUT becouse the referee never did what he should, he could go away with it. In the end I’m very glad that Wladimir Klitschko won and defeated Povetkin but he could several times have knocked Povetkin out. Wladimir just don’t have that killer instinct to KO his opponents when he haves the chanse like Lennox Lewis was great at. I guess with-out Emanuel Stewart he mabey lacks that little extra but hopfully I’m wrong.

Lol @ Henry Cooper!

Posted October 6, 2013 7:12 am

Wlad and Fury are the absolute opposites. Wlad is the articulate gentleman, Fury is the loud-mouthed moron.

Posted October 6, 2013 4:11 am

I like his analysis more than I like to see him in the ring. The great thing with Fury is that there doesn’t seem to be a filter… He thinks it and the next minute it comes right out…

Posted October 6, 2013 4:02 am

If Fury didn’t know what would happen in a Wladimir-Povetkin fight he’s an idiot.

Posted October 6, 2013 3:59 am

One more error I want to point out is your percentage is wrong. MMA, hockey, golf, baseball, football, nascar, soccer. 100% is totally off the mark. Maybe closer to 60%. But hey, what’s more alarming is that your athletes get their arses kicked by them regardless and on a normal basis.

Posted October 6, 2013 1:55 am

And one more thing, they aren’t “Africans”, they are African Americans, just like I am German American. And those African American tennis and golfers sure lay beatings on Brits, don’t they? Hahaha

Posted October 6, 2013 1:38 am

And just for the fun of it… Who’s really jealous now after hearing you harp off? You guys still don’t have air worries though, just drink some more haterade on ice. Id be mad too if a few people left my country and then kicked my country’s arse and became their own better country. More advanced, better athletes, more things to do etc…

Posted October 6, 2013 1:34 am

“either one of those “stiff idiots” ktfo this bum just as haye will.”

Doesn’t matter. Fury is right.

Posted October 6, 2013 1:01 am

Jealous,.. Of what? Please tell us! Getting smacked onto our “arses” by a feather fisted true cruiserweight (Cunningham)? Or,… that he can punch his own self in the face so nicely? Oh, yeah then…. We’re super Jealous Americans! The most jealous! ; ) that goofy bastard is a world beater.

@ Dionysus: Good and funny points my friend! :-)

Posted October 5, 2013 11:55 pm

This guy will never have a chance to be in a “boring fight” with either of the 2 Guys. He’ll soon be an afterthought when David Haye makes him look like easy pay. Then it’s off to his new job washing tea cups and saucers at the local crumpet joint.

Posted October 5, 2013 11:48 pm

i bet fury would love a blow job from povetkin. balding douchebag.

Posted October 5, 2013 11:16 pm

both of these “stiffs” destroy the balding brit, just as haye is going to do soon.

Posted October 5, 2013 11:15 pm

both are boring…and both would easily destroy fury.

Posted October 5, 2013 11:00 pm

I really liked Fury’s heart in the ring but his stupid mouth is no different than Haye, Chisora or any other ignorant ghetto thug.

Here’s to Klitschko slapping him around for 11 1/2 rounds before shutting his mouth for good.

Posted October 5, 2013 10:43 pm

Tark: Speaking of staying busy, 19-year old Hughie Fury is scheduled to fight next Sunday, Oct. 13th at Whitwick, UK, and again on Nov. 8th at Bristol, UK. That will make 12 bouts for young Hughie since last March. He’s also expected to fight on the Haye-Fury undercard on Feb. 8th. They’ll be no sitting around waiting for an opportunity for young Hughie; he works for a living.

Posted October 5, 2013 10:25 pm

fury vs Thompson.

Posted October 5, 2013 10:12 pm

it will take haye a year to get over his cut.

Posted October 5, 2013 10:12 pm

Haye is going the whole year without a fight. It’s not a big deal. It’s what you get with the opportunity on the day it comes.

Posted October 5, 2013 9:52 pm

Fury’s lost momentum with the fans because of the Haye debacle, although it wasn’t his fault. He needs to get back in the ring and fight, instead of flapping his gums. If Fury’s lucky, he’ll have only one bout for the entire year. What a waste of a career.

Posted October 5, 2013 9:49 pm

Fury blows.

Posted October 5, 2013 9:37 pm

JT 154 is right–Klit has trouble with taller fighters–or rather he is at least mildly challenged by them

Posted October 5, 2013 8:55 pm

Tyson was right–they certainly were boring in this fight. One two hold one two hold. I don’t know why Klit didn’t throw an uppercut–do they not teach that punch anymore?

Posted October 5, 2013 8:53 pm

I don’t know if anyone here noticed that as bad a stiff as Wladimir was today, he still had good balance and did not fall over like the uncoordinated fool that Fury always looks to be . Fury wants to fight in MMA too and he will learn in MMA, you better have good balance because you’re gonna get tackled. It’s not like boxing where the ref breaks it up or halts the fight when you are on your arse. I can’t wait until he talks after he wakes up from a Haye maker. what’s he gonna say, “is the fight over yet?” “Duh, what happened?” Fury will always be known as the boxer who hit himself on the chin with his own uppercut.

Posted October 5, 2013 8:42 pm

Fury should fight anybody ranked before he opens his dirty trap. Mutt

Posted October 5, 2013 8:06 pm

For once, Fury is right!

Klitschko is crap

Posted October 5, 2013 8:03 pm

Wlad slaughters tall guys, just KTFO especially an uncoordinated lump like Fury

Posted October 5, 2013 7:36 pm

Fury mangles wlad for the simple reason. Wlad punch and grab tactics

Posted October 5, 2013 7:24 pm

Fury wouldn’t be the first tall guy Wlad ever fought. If I recall correctly he did’t wrestle Thompson, Pianeta or Wach. Fury is taller however he needs work. If Cunningham was able to drop him what will Wlad do

Posted October 5, 2013 6:55 pm

Pathetic moron this Fury is. The dude is miles from Wlad’s ligue, so uncoordinated he can barely walk upright and still this mofo opens his trap? WTF

Posted October 5, 2013 6:49 pm

Listen fury weathers klits storm and by round 4 stops him haye is the harder fight. For fury a.d the better fight for the public

Posted October 5, 2013 6:41 pm

This f** ckintg cnut badmouthing Klitchko hoping to get a payoff for getting KTFO by him. We know.

Posted October 5, 2013 6:19 pm

Klitschko is a wooden stiff bore who now has he ability to put people asleep in their chairs during a bout. i hate to agree with that talentless clown Fury but he might actually give klit a good fight because he is around the same size and wount be able to lean on him when they got inside. Furys inside game is limited but at we woulnt see the usuall jab, jab lean, step back jab jab right hand lean. Boring! The heavyweight division is a big boring joke just like both Klitschkos!

Posted October 5, 2013 6:16 pm

Edo bg

Wladimir definetelly gave povetkin too much respect and it was a boring fight. Hey Brits, better shut up before I send tony Thompson to shut furrys mouth. Only thing brits can beat is their meat and other Brits. Your best guys can’t even beat klitchkos sparing partners. So shut the hell up untill your guys beat somebody outside of uk!

Posted October 5, 2013 6:06 pm

Tyson Fury is crap. Will always be crap. He reminds me of Chavez Jr. with the size advantage and pathetic athletic ability and coordination. He’ll get exposed as soon as he meets a real top 20 opponent.

Posted October 5, 2013 5:46 pm

Fury is the classic class clown. He racks up the jokes, he’s the catylist for a fight and then heads out when the fight starts. Fury would get killed fighting any of the guys either K-Bros, Price and Haye. Povetkin would knock him out. Forget it ,Fury, you’re just a stand up comic.

Can you imagine if Wladimir Klitschko had teamed up with, say Freddie Roach instead of Mr. Fixit Man, Emanuel Steward (RIP) in 2004? Wlad would have been in more exciting fights, but he would have racked up the defeats and probably be retired by now!
