@ sc – i pickef garcia by k.o. cause i just got a gut feeling. He is a lil better technically. If he can avoid those big bombs from lucas he can eek out a decision. As for money he will have his hands full. He thought castillo was tough? This is castillo on stdriods!!! Oh early prediction pac gets k.o. by rios. What do u think friend?

Floyd never faced 42 Mayweathers…

And he never faced Austin Trout either.

Mayweather lost to castillo is a right on. That chump lost a long time ago and the only person worth a record thereafter was coralles. Mayweather then ran from Pacman the rest of his pathetic career

murderman: If you’re a FMJ fan, but can still admit that he lost his first fight with Castillo, then you’re a REAL boxing fan first and foremost. I totally respect that.

So you’re NOT just another FMJ nut-hugging fan-boy like SREDMOND/Public Enemy/Supreme Court, Q, Titopa, Proud African, Boxtradamus/ CORRECTAMUNDO and several others on ESB.

I appreciate your objectivity and honesty. It’s interesting that your picking Garcia to win by KO. I am predicting that Garcia will lose by stoppage. This is because he has a lot of confidence in his own power and at some point will make the mistake of exchanging hooks with Matthysse. That’s when Lucas will catch Garcia and lower the BOOM. Can’t wait until tomorrow night either. Enjoy the fights!

Canelo actually looked nervous in the face-off and right after… I’m not saying it will effect him on Saturday…. but… he just seemed like some doubts were just flying through his head or something. Then he tries to put on a fake smile… and a stressed out expression showed up. Well, I’m ready to see the physiques and weights tomorrow.

Canelo was pissed. He really wants to get to Little Floyd.

Delafishnets clearly lost to Felix Sturm.. Where’s the outrage from you idiots? Oh, right you don’t bring that up but you continue to bring up the Castillo fight vs Mayweather.

PE- “….delusional Mexican can they believe Castillo beat Mayweather.. same idiots who believe Delafishnets beat Trinidad,..” Horrible example. One fight (Jr vs. Castillo)was close the other (DLH/Tito)wasn’t. Both wins were bought but you could argue Jr’s win was legitimate (even if the score cards were padded). The only argument for Tito is that DLH was punished for running in a fight he clearly won. I actually don’t have a problem w/ running(not-engaging) being penalized. But you know that was one of the many fights DK bought.

Well, one things for CERTAIN and beyond debate, we all KNOW that FLOYD MAYWEATHER WOULD ABSOLUTELY NOT BE ANYWHERE CLOSE TO 44-0 IF HE HAD FOUGHT 44 MANNY PACQUIAOS!!!! In fact, Floyd would likely have a losing record, BAHAHAHHAHHAHAHAH!!!!!!!!!!

Posted September 13, 2013 11:01 am

12 boring rounds….Fraud will run to a decision with Canelo chasing him all nite. Sad for fans to fork out that kind of money to see a track meet, pop and tag match for 12 rounds. BOYCOTT PPV!

Posted September 13, 2013 8:59 am

There is a misconception that Canelo is the bigger fighter. He has only looked big because of the men he has been fighting. Floyd will match his size, power, and overmatch him in every other department. Floyd is gonna win and win big.

Squared-Circle Real Talk (a.k.a. The Lion King of Beat Street)

murderman: Well amigo, I’m arguing about ancient history because there are plenty of posters on ESB, like SREDMOND, who love to argue about ancient history when it comes to the Klitschkos losing a few controversial fights 10 or more years ago.

FMJ fans love to claim that he’s the “greatest of his generation” because he’s still undefeated, but I’m one of the more knowledgeable guys who knows that he truly lost to Castillo in their first fight but received a gift-wrapped decision.

I’m also picking FMJ to win this fight by MD or SD, but I predict there will be plenty of controversy because Canelo will land the much harder power shots. I agree that he may even knock FMJ down once or twice. These issues could easily lead to a rematch. Ask yourself this question: would the outcome be the same if the fight were being held in Mexico City?

BTW… you never answered my question about Garcia vs. Matthysse. Who do you pick to win??? And you pick the winner by decision or stoppage?

Posted September 13, 2013 2:57 am

@sc – my friend, why are you arguing about ancient history? Let it go! Its all bout sept 14. I pick floyd by hard fought majority decision. May might even get knocked down. But i like may. Who u got?

Squared-Circle Real Talk (a.k.a. The Lion King of Beat Street)

The REAL FLUKE is that all three judges scored FMJ vs. Castilllo II closer than they scored the first fight. If that doesn’t reveal that the judging was totally F’d up for those two fights than I don’t know what does.

Castillo not only landed more overall punches in the first fight, but landed almost THREE TIMES as many power shots! So don’t try to pull some B.S. by saying they weren’t clean punches.

“Castillo threw 377 POWER punches and landed 173 (46%). FMJ only threw 151 power punches and only landed 66 (44%) of them. That’s 173 to 66 power punches!!!” That says it all!

Enough said. Case closed.

CORRECTION: “But more importantly, Castillo threw 377 POWER punches and landed 173 (46%). FMJ only threw 151 power punches and only landed 66 (44%) of them. That’s 173 to 66 power punches!!!”

Mayweather is vulnerable early as shawn ogrady says, I think Cancelo with good work rate and stamina the first 2 rounds can win the first 2 rounds, Canelo needs to do this. If you win 2 then make it 3 and your half way to the draw. Now mayweather is warmed up so Canelo needs pick his battles after round 3 where he should be ahead, if Canelo loses round 3 he should try win round 4. Fact is Canelo can win early rounds cause he will be fresher and mayweather is more careful and methodical early and can be out worked. So I see canelo 3 rounds Mayweather 1 round after 4 as Canelo best chance to win. THen Canelo will have a mayweather who will open up more to win rounds and Canelo if he chooses his battles carefully can win this fight by landing same or fewer harder shots. This is a case of getting the judges to beleive you have won the round, get the crowd into the fight sway the judges in your favor. This is at least a 3 to 1 fight. where canelo with the right strategy and effort can make this really close fight, where he could win it by a round. Hopefully Canelo cornor will be giving him really good advice. I hope canelo is fast and furious at least the first few rounds gets the early lead.

Canelo said the floyd punches he has to worry about are jab and right lead. At first I thought, what??Floyd has so many punches, from so many angles and setups. But when you think of how great canelo fought at long range against 73inch reach trout, you wonder if floyd’s great looping right(around cotto high guard), check hook (against charging hatton), leaping hook (against little marquez) will apply. Even countering canelo’s jab is not obvious when you realize he just might follow it up with an accurate and vicious right. However when canelo is gassed, his hands go down, his head movement stops, and all these floyd punches, plus his combinations will be effective again.

Posted September 12, 2013 8:27 pm

Floyd snr first said that canelo was flawed because he was flatfooted. Lately he said canelo ran out of steam even though trout wasn’t throwing body punches. So their strategy will be to make canelo work, but mayweather throwing body punches sounds risky.

Just saw the ballyhooed face off everyone is talking about. Both combatants appear to ne in co.dition for this bout. Both professionals, so I expect nothing less. Canelo nervous? I didn’t see.that. Focused? Yes. He has a big task ahead of him and he knows full well the stakes involved. Belueve me he is READY. He said a few simple words and sat back down. No, not nervous. Focused. His calm demeanor and quiet confidence has been admirable throughout. Mayweather? Business as usual. Been there, done that. Nothing new here. My gut says youth will be served Saturday. I have the feeling Canelo will shock a lot of people in a manner they aren’t looking for. Thus doesn’t have to be a knockout. Should he lose, he gains invaluable experience. Come Saturday the best fighter on that evening will win . My gut says Canelo. Mayweather wins? Then he won and deserves credit for his win. There should be no excuses from either side. Canelo by decision or a stoppage. Cheers gentlemen

Jr talks a bunch of nonsense. A lot of uninspiring, vague mantras Jr’s lackeys faithfully repeat, along with nonsensical quips & bragging about the material items he has acquired. But the interesting gem he dropped was about how he(personally Jr made it sound) built up Canelo to be something he is not. Also about how Canelo will be propped in front of Jr to be knocked back out of the spotlight. Half of what is said is BS. Jr had little to do with Canelo’s current level of fame. Canelo was built up in Mexico by a Mexican media machine. This is what happens now with star prospects. Broner is another example. Canelo didn’t really earn this spot as much as it has been given to him. We will see what happens. But I see those slow heavy feet being a problem for Canelo trying to catch up to Jr who will be moving. Imagine Broner(who is a year older than Canelo) in the ring w/ Jr. The only guy who had/has the talent & experience to give Jr a fight is fading himself & it won’t happen anyway. But at least we have the co-event.

Canelo needs to turn into a Vin Diesel clone on steroids, and go balls to the walls, let it all hang out. As Angelo Dundee said, ” This is where we seperate the men from the boys”, talking to george foreman late in a tough fight. Foreman walked through a lot of punches to KO micheal moore who was more skilled. Meldrick taylor vs julio ceasar chavez, taylor let it all hang out, he actually let it hang out to much the 12 round he had it won. ut Chavez never gave up and he made it happen. Does Canelo have this kind of heart, grit, determination, to try the whole fight, to face adversity and give himself the best shot to win. I think Canelo even if he loses, if he fights like a champ and fights the whole way and doesn’t give up we have give him his props. If Canelo does give up, just decide to last the fight because he feels he can’t win, he does himself a disservice, means he still to green, has lots to learn.

I believe that Mayweather will beat Alvarez by UD and that, after this fight, Alvarez should move up to Super Middleweight. Then he will not need to cut so much weight.

Posted September 12, 2013 4:49 pm

I understand their trying to build up this fight but Canelo is too young and not even close to his prime. This is just another mismatch.

And Mayweather is 43-1 (lost to Castillo), but he hasn’t faced 43 Saul Alvarez’s.

Can you imagine JOSE SULEIMAN seeing his two countrymen duking it out to see Quien es mas macho? Canelo, a bull at 154 going up against little Chav, a bull at 160.

I can’t think of a bigger fight as both are major stars back home.

Canelo will either be still unbeaten or richer for his experience with Floyd.

I’d love to see OSCAR – look at me – DE LA HOYA, going head-to-head with FREDDIE ROACH.
