Focus on Chicken Jr. getting busted using Dieuretics to drop water weight pre-fight.. Focus on Chicken Jr. avoiding Drug tests, Focus on Chicken Jr. coming into middleweight fights as a Light heavyweight.. those are relevent issues for this fight….

Posted September 9, 2012 10:04 pm

Tark, there have never been any issues with Titos wraps.. you must be mistaking him for Chavez Sr. or MargaCheato… the only time in Titos career that Wraps became an issue was in the Hopkins fight tand the issue was about how much gauze and tape had been used.. in NYC they only allow a strict amount.. Hopkins admitted that his team was only playing games with Tito to get him to rewrap minutes before the fight… a mere technicality in NYC totally allowed in 99% of the other states and Countries.. even with that it took the naturally Larger Hopkins 12 tough rounds to wear down a much smaller Tito Trinidad thanks to HOpkins typical dirty physical style…

Posted September 9, 2012 7:38 pm

Hopkins the naturally larger guy, a true Light Heavyweight has always been a dirty fighter. He even admits it, calls it his Philly Style.. in the Tito fight, a much smaller guy Hopkins fought dirty and rough from beginning to end.. Sucker Punching Tito at the end of the Round.. a Classic Hopkins dirty tactic…

Sergio is just an Argentinian wanted to be on the spot. The only pride Argentinians had in the past is Soccer, and after Maradona left, (he was always high on drugs, when he played) they cannot win anymore. I don’t believe Sergio’s mouth is any good for the sport. Boxing fans like myself, always like boxers who have the ability, to fight, and knock people out. If Sergio want to be a big mouth, he needs to take lessons from Mayweather.

Mike Doss

I had to come in this when I read what Tark said “Name a single instance Hopkins was point deductedf or cheating, even though he often fought in enemy terrritory. “Hopkins never cheated” Are you kidding Tark WOW !!!! What are you smoking dude !!!!!!! I want some !!!!!!!!

Posted September 8, 2012 10:55 pm

Trinidad was deducted points for a low blow against Vargas after he was knocked on his ass and in trouble… He always resorted to cheating… Name a single instance Hopkins was point deductedf or cheating, even though he often fought in enemy terrritory.

Posted September 8, 2012 10:34 pm

Hopkins never cheated… There is documented proof that Trinidad was a cheater… Just like there is documented proof that Margarito is a cheater.

Posted September 8, 2012 10:32 pm

Tark why do you defend a cheater in this sport like Bernard Hopkins ?

Posted September 8, 2012 9:54 pm

Tark your wrong ! Hopkins was trying to devert his ugly doing’s on Titos hand wrapping. Perfect set up. Hopkins was on peds in that fight and many say Hopkins had his gloves packed. 28 head butts by Hopkins to Tito head. It was Hopkins who was the dirty one in that match. The focus was unfornatelty was on Tito put on by Hopkins. Just like when Hopkins in the Roy2 fight blame Roy for cheating when Hopkins himself was the cheater

Cant get used to this format, hate it n cant be bothered coming on now

“[Martinez] fights every logical opponent out there who will face him..” and so has Chavez Jr. culminating in his matchup v. Martinez. meanwhile, your “cheating” accusations don’t apply any more to Jr. than every other fighter in the sport. exCept of course (and according to you), St. Pacquiao*(?!?), i.e., Pacquiao* apologists have NO credibility when it comes to the “cheating” topic. Btw Tark Van Winkle (and while i’m at it), you’re about 10 years late on the Cheato Trinidud “revelation” too. yet another boxing-related development you slept on.

Posted September 8, 2012 6:49 pm

martinez said after he goes through chavez he will be going after mayweather, on mayweathers heels to fight. OH YEAH!!!! martinez!!!!

Posted September 8, 2012 6:31 pm

Talking about cheaters…just so Cross knows….. Felix Trinidad sometimes had his hands wrapped when his opponent’s second showed up at the dressing room to monitor his wrapping. They’d say “This is not right. You have to rewrap.” The commission guy would say, “I watched the wrapping and trust me, it was perfectly to specifications. Now you can inspect and examine the wraps all you want but I’m not going to make Mr. Trinidad rewrap.” What Bowie Fisher did that was different was, “Okay, you guys won’t rewrap so I’m calling off the fight. My fighter’s health is worth more than 10 million dollars.” Guess what? Trinidad rewrapped his hands. Under the outside wrapping of gauze there was too much tape on Tito’s hands—and much of it placed illegally on the knuckles. The commissioner agreed that it was illegal and they had to redo it to specifications …. So who’s the cheater now—and how much of that 40-0 record was due to tons of illegal tape on the knuckles???

Posted September 8, 2012 2:55 pm

Chavez Jr is nuts… Everyone who’s not Mexican likes Martinez…and some Mexicans like him too. Because he can box.. He can punch.. He’s fast.. and he fights every logical opponent out there who will face him.. Chavez can only win by devious cheating and with help from the referee and judges.

Posted September 8, 2012 2:36 pm

Chihuaha will be feed with old bull meet on 9/15. LoL, LOLLL

Posted September 8, 2012 2:06 pm

None of them are special now after they got beat up, I will add another to the list after 9/15 as the none special any more

Posted September 8, 2012 1:55 pm

Sergio has reason to be piss off, he had to way for Jr. in order for him to get some recognition and for people to know about him at very old age of 37 when other had retired already. That really sucks.

Posted September 8, 2012 1:44 pm

On 27/7 chavez jr said no one loves martinez…..heres an american from illinois and i love martinez. hows that?

Posted September 8, 2012 1:02 pm

Comon get serious we are talking about boxing, no even his mother know him, by the time he make a name in boxing and Chavez decide to fight him if he keep winning that guy Golvokin ( whatever his name) will be 40 already.

Turd Spotter

Who let the crybaby loser Puerto Ricants back in the house?

Posted September 8, 2012 12:54 pm

Maravilla all the way

Posted September 8, 2012 12:29 pm

Yes, he has a thin resume as a _pro_, but did you not notice his technique, timing, footwork and power? Golovkin is going to be a serious force at middleweight, mark my words.

Posted September 8, 2012 12:25 pm

Golovkin is a beast! And a fight with Martinez (I think Martinez is going to punish the defenseless Jr.) would be a dream fight.

Posted September 8, 2012 12:22 pm

What are you talking about? All of the fighters you mention are fighting at 168 or 175 for 2-3 years. Sergio is really a 154 fighter who only in the last 1-2 years moved up to 160.

Posted September 8, 2012 12:19 pm

Martinez is NOT a super middle weight — his frame is too small. He’s a jr middleweight now fighting at middle weight, so forget about him fight Froch, Ward, etc. Say what you want, but Williams at the times was an “avoided fighter” and Pavlik was THE middle weight champ, only losing to the future hall of famer B-Hop. Perhaps you just don’t like Martinez, but anyone who watches him can see the man is super talented and would be a considerable challenge for any 154-160 pound fighter, from any era.

Posted September 8, 2012 12:17 pm

Big talk about a fighter (Golvokin) who has not fought anybody is approaching 31 years old.

Posted September 8, 2012 12:16 pm

The winner better make the most of this because if Golvokin gets in the ring with them then they wont have a career left.

The Kingslayer

Wait a second here how exactly was Paul Williams not at his peak ?

Posted September 8, 2012 11:31 am

If the Sergio that fought Macklin shows up Jr will destroy him. I don’t rate Sergio as P4P either, He beat a faded ghost who was training like crap due to booze and Paul who was not at his peak. If Sergio wanted to show he is the best why was he not fighting AA, Froch, B-hope, tons of great fighters at 160 who were in peak condition? Instead he is fighting people like Macklin who was kicking Sergio’s butt until he ran out of gas.

Posted September 8, 2012 11:24 am

The Kingslayer

After watching the face off between them I’ve started to root for Chavez, Martinez’s is coming across as a bully to me throughout this whole build up.

Posted September 8, 2012 10:56 am

Get ready jr and pray to the good lord. Jr will be looking at Sr Papa Papa help Papa papa this wasnt a good idea I’m way over my head papa Papa !!!

Posted September 8, 2012 10:55 am

Chavez has NO footwork and can only punch when he has his feet set. Martinez by UD.

Posted September 8, 2012 10:31 am

Chicken Jr. and his people said Sergio is all hype, that he hasn’t beaten anyone. Chicken Jr. said “Nobody wants you (Sergio) not Argentina nor Spain” in their 24/7 obviously while haning out with his KingOns.. but when they did the face to face Chicken Jr. looked scared and dorky… Sergio Punked him face to face… So does anyone wonder why Sergio is so pissed off at this low life…

Posted September 8, 2012 10:28 am

It’s obvious Chicken Jr. has started drinking his own KoolAid.. he’s believing everyone around him that he can actually beat Sergio Martinez?? LOL what a dumb Chihuahua…

Posted September 8, 2012 10:26 am

This is definitely the most talking Martinez has done. It could definitely work against him.

Posted September 8, 2012 10:00 am

Ward said to stop talking about whack@ss froch

Posted September 8, 2012 9:59 am

Martinez vs. Margacheato took place a long, long time ago. Considering that Sergio started fighting when he was 20, the result isn’t all that surprising. Maravilla is a much better fighter now than he was then.

Posted September 8, 2012 9:57 am

Froch has fought better competition than martinez

Posted September 8, 2012 9:55 am

JCC Jr. will fight with a lot of heart, but he just doesn’t have the overall skills and punch accuracy to defeat Martinez.

Posted September 8, 2012 9:48 am

Meant to say he won’t run, but won’t stand there toe-to-toe either.

Posted September 8, 2012 9:44 am

Martinez won’t run, but he won’t run either. He’ll pick his spots and he’ll be standing in front of Chavez with hands down by his waist as early as the 1st round.

Posted September 8, 2012 9:37 am

His best opponents have been Andy Lee, Sebastian Zbik, Marco Antonio Rubio, Peter Manfredo, and John Duddy. All of these are solid pros, but none of them are great or special.

Posted September 8, 2012 9:30 am

Unfortunately, I am picturing a robbery where Martinez dominates, but does not KO Chavez Jr. and they give JCC Jr. a BS, Tim Bradley-esque decision.

Posted September 8, 2012 9:09 am

If there is no robbery,I don t see how Chavez can win…slow, clumsy, with limited technical skills for the very top level in which he (and a lot of money and influence) pretends to belong , Martinez says the truth…

Posted September 8, 2012 8:54 am

Who has Chavez jr. Fought? Please someone answer that question

Posted September 8, 2012 7:44 am

Posted September 8, 2012 6:59 am

I hope sergio peels your ass after hes done doing all of that.

Posted September 8, 2012 5:49 am

if “maravilla” attempts to trade with chavez jr he wont last a round his only chance to win is to run and run he will like a coyote

Posted September 8, 2012 5:36 am

skills pays the bills

jr might be to brave for his own good plenty of bumps in this scrap

Posted September 8, 2012 5:28 am

I see Martinez With A Busted Eyebrow But Winning The Fight By Landing Alot More Punches Then Chavez Jr

Posted September 8, 2012 4:07 am

It pains me to say but Sergio is in for a nasty shock, if Margarito can tko his ass then Chavez can too, bigger and hits harder and if he pins him down Sergio is going to have to get out of there fast or he is in trouble..

Posted September 8, 2012 4:05 am

What the hill do u have against Mexicans you freakin idiot

Posted September 8, 2012 4:04 am

Martinez is just talking to much lately. hmmm

Posted September 8, 2012 3:43 am

I hope Sergio knocks out Jr then goes over to Chavez Sr and knocks that mexican slimeball too
