@murderman agreed he hits like a mule, no doubt about that. So yes @ujelly I guess that counts as “talent”. He’s also very fast and cuts the ring off very well at this stage of his career. Now I don’t need stats to tell me about how wonderful how amature career is. I have these things called eyes that allow me see what he lacks. No head movement whatso ever, prominent facial bones which leads to easy cuts, easy swelling ala Gabriel rosado(Jr middle) who landed maybe 6 punches and still managed to make a mark. Comparing Rigo to GGG is completely irrelevant, like night and day. @ squaredliontigerkittenelephant…ggg may very well be the next king at mw, but beating nobodies for vacant straps, as well as literally having them handed to u doesn’t work in my world. Back in the day they used to call them “paper” champs. Guess this guy gets a free pass cause “he hits hard”?

G’day Mate

Hahaha nice one Eleanore. Come to Australia and ask that question. See what answer you get.

Eleanore the Hag

Whats a G’day Mate ?

G’day Mate

KOrnerman – No chance for Barker. People underestimante Geale because he doesn’t have KO power. He has enough to keep the head first plodders (like GGG) honest and then out works and boxes their ears off.

Woop Woop

Correction to the Lion King. GGG was given one of those belts (WBA) and the other is the IBO (joke title). GGG continues to fight Welters and Jnr Middles. Now he fights a guy coming of a long layoff and with an injury. Fraudulent hype train comes to mind.

Murray v GGG would be good fight, It would let us know how good GGG is, if he struggles or loses he’s average but if he blows Marin away in a few rounds then were looking at the real deal. I agree with those who say he should be upping the competition.

@mayweather86 – ” I kno talent when I see it and I need no help from a likely 20 something keyboard jockey to explain it to me.”
Wtf? You’re claiming a guy with an amateur record of 345-5 with Asian and World Championship Gold medals and an Olympic silver medal lacks talent???

Anyone will agree that as a professional, we’re yet to see GGG fully tested and he may well fall short at the top level. Who knows? But the guy is a talent no matter which way you look at it.
People were throwing the same kind’ve criticisms at Rigondeaux recently (i.e. who has he fought??? Amateur experience means nothing in the pro game!)… and it was funny how quickly the clowns vanished immediately after the Donaire whitewash.

Would like to see Murray get a shot at Golovkin (assuming GGG gets passed Macklin)… Murray is a good fighter and has been very unlucky to come up short twice in title shots.
If he can’t get Golovkin-Macklin, then I’d love to see him get a shot at Geale or Quillin… coz if anyone deserves another title shot, it’s Murray. But I fear Murray may wind up being one of those “best middleweight that never won a title” kind of fighters.

@mayweather 86 – u cant front dude hits hard. But i agree murray is a step up

Lol ill be waiting. With a snicker on my face. Defense does not exist, face swells like a balloon everytime he gets smacked with a jab. Collecting alphabet titles from who??? Doesn’t impress me much, or anyone else who doesn’t subscribe to the bum of the month club. Been in, around and a part of boxing for nearly 30 years. I kno talent when I see it and I need no help from a likely 20 something keyboard jockey to explain it to me. Keep hoping and wishing along with the rest of the hbo hype machine. Your entitled to your opinion and ill try my best to respect it, but I think your in for a rude awakening

Squared-Circle (a.k.a. LionKing)

mayweather86: You’re a joke and have NO IDEA what you’re talking about. I’m gonna remember your name and make you eat your foolish words when Triple G becomes MW Champion of the World.

Murderman. Triple g is so overrated its not even funny. Let me kno when he stops fighting Jr. Middleweights and way overblown welters. Dude is a joke.

Marquez, Matthysse, now Murray. These hard luck fighters just don’t give up and in the end they hopefully get what they deserve. These guys are just much better than previously thought because of boggus decisions that didn’t go their way, but those losses which never really were losses actually make them better. Murray is a solid all around fighter if he would concentrate more on power he would be a real threat.

Hopefully Barker beats Geale and we can have Murray vs Barker for the title in UK

Prof Konje

Murray is a top-level fighter. He should be given more opportunities.

If he was fighting anyone other than GGG then he would prob be champ! Bad timing! Bad matchup!

Posted June 6, 2013 10:29 am

I hope he gets one, he’s a tough dude and should be the champ right now. Would like to see him again stateside.. you’ve earned a fan in me Mr. Murray.
