Chicken Jr. has done nothing in the Ring to make him stand out as anything special. NOTHING! He has not shown anykind of Great Boxing Ability, Great Power.. all he has shown is that if he’s allowed to bypass a drug test and come in 25+lbs heavier then his much smaller opponents he can wear them down.. LOL.. Martinez is going to mop the floor with this Fraud like Mosley did with MargaCheato minus his Cement loaded Wraps…

Chavez snr did not have loaded gloves against Taylor. The Duva’s were always on the look out for this for all of their fighters before or after the the fights. I read an article in the Ring or KO magazine circular 1992 and no other group of promoters/trainers were more vigilant than these guys. I remember Lou giving Holmes a thorough check on his gloves against Holyfield because he feared that an attached thumb would come into play. Also George Benton was a master at wrapping a fighters hands and he knew the score as he often had overseas amateur boxers especially from uk sparring at their gym and would always check the way they wrapped their hands to see if it was correct to prevent hand injuries. I take it you dont box or have ever fought yourself because a lot of punches from different fighters sound different on landing. You mention odd bone breaking sounds but that can be technique. Ive heard that sort of sound from watching Dennis Andries live many times and also from Lloyd Honeyghan. Middleweight Mark Kaylor had a crack to the sound of his shots too. From 30 years in boxing gyms I think sound is deterimed by mostly technique. In my opinion its when the boxer is turning the glove on impact to the point of the first two knuckes. Steve Robinson wastnt natural at this but he did do it when he stopped Duke McKenzie. Boxing punches differ from martial arts like wing chun because Wing Chun favours the 3 knucles other than the index finger knuckle

It’s Chavez Jr. for me. The most telling factors in this fight is chin, weight=power and youth. Martinez chin is suspect. Jr’s chin is solid. Once he starts catching Sergio with his power shots, Sergio will succumb. Jr’s got decent hand speed too. This’ll be like Margarito-Martinez over again. Jr. will shut fight beggar Martinez up big time. Sergio just landed a lucky shot against Paul Williams. That or Paul William’s a moron.

Everyone keep talking about Chavez jr and sr being dirty. Take a look a Bernard Hopkins now that dude is dirty. I’ve never seen a more dirty fighter than Hopkins in the ring. Hes the worst !

As we’ve seen these cheats will do anything to get an edge over an opponent.. Load their Wraps, Take Steriods, use Dieuretics.. they’ll even Drink their own fkn PISS as we saw Marquez do.. I guess they believe it keeps those illegal substances in their system longer… nothing should surprise anyone when it comes to cheating and this low life bastards… We’ll see if Chicken Jr. takes a piss and Blood test finally… and if he allows himself to be weighed pre-fight… hopefully they check his wraps with a fine tooth comb…

Chavez Sr. was the original Tijuana Glove Loader.. just go watch the Chavez Sr. vs Meldrick Taylor fight.. it’s a mirror image of the Cotto vs MargaCheato 1 fight.. same odd unexplicable damage done by slow as mollasses shots? against a fighter that was landing all night long.. same odd bone breaking sounds heard as described by Richard steele in the Documentary that reviewed the fight.. people ringside at the Cotto MargaCheato 1 fight described hearing the same odd bone breaking shots… Chavez Sr and Meldrick taylor would get into exchanges, Meldrick like Cotto would be landing most of the hard shots yet when they seperated it was Meldrick with unexplicable Welts and Bloodied same as Cotto… No doubt in my mind Chavez Sr. was loading his Gloves and keep in minnd that it was Chavez Sr. and his Camp that took MargaCheato under their wing when MargaCheato starting winning more fights with that same unexplicable damaging style.. the one that Vanished when his loaded Wraps were taken away…

Chicken Jr. looks scared in that Photo and he looked like he got punked in the face off.. like a dork trying to act tough when Martinez would challenge him verbally.. Martinez shut him down with just his stare.. Chicken Jr. is going to get a severe beat down.. possibly ending his fake career… or atleast begin exposing him as just a pampered kid of a famous dad…

Cmon Tark thats alittle bit disrespectful to Chavez Snr. That guy ducked no one. Also he was great at lightweight and light welter. The surgeon like hands against Camacho, Mayweather, Rosario put him way up on the scorecards. Camacho was a good boxer at the lower weights and I think Whitaker avoided Chavez at light welter and got him up a weight so that he was less effective. Classic fight against Taylor in both instances regardless of the controversial first fight ending. Also the puches both took in a brutal last 4 rounds were both amazing and shocking. The weight for Chavez was 142 against Whitaker to Whitakers 147. The fight was close I had Whitaker 115-114 but when you consider the Pac/Bradley result it was no where near as bad as Pacs robbery. There’s not many men who fought as regular as Chavez Snr, you’d have to go way back to find champs that did. Chavez Jr should not be mentioned in the same sentence as his dad and that includes around the family table.

Chavez Sr was not a clever boxer and neiher is his son. Sr was strictly a brawler with quick hands. Sweet Pea Whitaker is a southpaw who clearly out-boxed Chavez Sr in almost every round, but got robbed blind, just as Frankie Randall was robbed blind against Sr… This is the story of corrupt scorng that Sergio Martinez must avoid at all costs.. He must put Chavez Jr down and out cold to avoid another Chavez family robbery.. I can’t stress how important it is to have an experienced trainer inspecting Jr.’s hand wraps and watching his hands being wrapped every second — and examining Jr.’s boxing gloves thoroughly inside and out, every seam and surface, and making sure that’s the pair of gloves Jr. puts on, and watching him like a hawk all the way into the ring. The Chavezes don’t let anything get between them and money if they can help it.. JCC was a Don King soul mate.

Roach’s strategy is to watch the tapes of the opponent’s toughest fight to see what bad habits or weaknesses they show and then train his boxer to exploit those to the fullest each and every round. Chavez Jr. also has his father preparing him with all of his world legend boxer experience. Martinez’s original trainer is the older brother of Pablo Sarmiento. The last two fights have been trained by Pablo, and it’s still remarkable that Martinez is still winning. There seems to be more training advantages stacked on Chavez Jr.’s side; however, Martinez can win this fight if he fights as intelligently as he has done before.

I think Chavez is dirty and Arum is giving some hush hush money so Martinez will fight. But Martinez is twice the boxer than Chavez and should box circles around him. Martinez late KO

Chavez thinks that his sparrings are tougher than Martinez….the kid is deluded, Martinez is going to hurt him, seriously, like Pac hurt Margarito/

“Contrast the superstar kid, son of the legend whose had everything on a silver platter and the other had to work his ass off to get it.” So? What matters is what they do in the ring on Sept. 15, not their upbringing. Silver platter or no, Chavez fights. That’s all that counts. Same can be said for Martinez.
