Francisco Palacios- Krzysztof Wlodarczyk Rematch Set for September 22

By Laz Izada: The much anticipated rematch between WBC Cruiserweight Champion Krzysztof “Diablo” Wlodarczyk (46-2-1, 33 KO’s) of Poland against Bayamon, Puerto Rico’s Francisco “The Wizard” Palacios (21-1, 13 KO’s) has been set for this September 22, in Wroclaw, Poland.

The first match up between these two cruisers was a controversial split decision that 30 year old Wlodarczyk was awarded with the victory, in his home country of Poland. Fight judges Robin Dolpierre and Adrio Zannoni scored it 116-113 and 118-112 for Wlodarczyk while Joseph Chaane had it 115-113 for Palacios.

Palacios thought he had won the fight last time by scoring with “more solid harder punches”. With his performance that night he also won over many Polish fans which also thought he had won the fight.

After interviewing Palacios last night by phone he assured me that he will be “more explosive and hopefully a knockout will come if Wlodarczyk opens up, comes to fight, instead of holding and smothering “like last time.

He doesn’t mind returning to Poland were he felt he was treated well by “proud faithful boxing fans”.

Last time he felt he had “two opponents” in the ring Wlodarczyk and the judges. He has been training since January and is ready for this fight, the rematch that he has wanted for a long time.

Palacios of 35 years of age is promoted by Don King; his last fight was a Unanimous Decision victory over Joell Godfrey (13-4-1) in November of 2011 in South Florida. Wlodarczyk’s last fight was also in November 2011 a TKO victory over Danny Green (31-4) in Australia.
Palacios said he will give his best performance and is looking forward in “bringing the title back to the United States and his native Puerto Rico”.

Come September 22, it should be an excellent match-up, hopefully, praying it will be televised or streamed live on the internet. Let’s see what happens. Best of Luck for these two warriors as the WBC Cruiserweight belt will be on the line.
