Chilemba-Bostic on 10/1, Boswell wants Klitschko fight

New York, NY – (9/22/2011) – On Saturday, October 1st, light heavyweight Isaac “Golden Boy” Chilemba (17-1-1, 8KO’s) will make his DiBella Entertainment (DBE) debut when he takes on Jameson Bostic (23-4, 13KO’s) in an eight-round light heavyweight match-up on the undercard of “Noche de Maravilla'” featuring Sergio “Maravilla” Martinez’ World Boxing Council (WBC) Middleweight Diamond belt and Ring Championship defense against undefeated European Champion “Dazzling” Darren Barker. In the co-feature bout of the evening, which will be opening up HBO’s World Championship Boxing® telecast, will be world-ranked middleweights, “Irish” Andy Lee and Brian Vera, as the two are set to go toe-to-toe in their long-awaited rematch.

Tickets for “Noche de ‘Maravilla'” are priced at $300, $200, $100, and $50, and can be purchased online at Ticketmaster.com, by phone at 1-800-745-3000, at any Ticketmaster retail outlet, or in person at the Boardwalk Hall box office.

“It is rare that you see an up-and-coming prospect be in against such tough opposition, but it’s a testament to the fighter that Isaac is, and what he is capable of,” stated Lou DiBella, founder and President of DiBella Entertainment. “We are excited to have Isaac as part of our team, and look forward to showcasing him in what is expected to be a very tough and exciting fight on October 1st.”

The 24-year-old South African-native Chilemba is the current WBC International Light Heavyweight Champion. Chilemba is expected to be in tough against Bostic, but this is nothing new to the prospect. After suffering the lone defeat of his career back in 2007, Chilemba has gone 10-0-1, and the wins have come against anything but easy competition. In Chilemba’s last six fights, his opponents have had an astonishing 94-1-1 record. The only blemish on his record during that time was a split decision draw to fellow undefeated DBE prospect, and current IBO Super Middleweight Champion, Thomas Oosthuizen. In addition to this being Chilemba’s first fight under the DBE banner, it is also his first fight outside of South Africa, so he is looking to impress an American audience.

As previously mentioned, Bostic is no push-over. After starting his career at 2-3, Bostic has gone an impressive 21-1, including four victories over previously undefeated fighters in the last six years.

Dr. Klitschko, Meet Mr. Boswell It is Time to Return the Favor!

AN OPEN LETTER FROM CEDRIC “The Boz” BOSWELL

Dr. Klitschko……Of course you know who I am. However, if you Have a memory lapse, my name is Cedric Boswell. I’m very sure you remember that we were scheduled to fight June 21, 2003 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles as the co-feature to the scheduled main event between Lennox Lewis and Kirk Johnson. However, Kirk was injured and Lennox was given the choice to fight you or me. Lennox chose to box you.

Importantly, you will also remember that , since I had a signed contract to box you, your chance to fight Lennox required my approval. By stepping aside from my contract, I gave you the opportunity to fight for the World title and showcase your talent to a worldwide audience, not as a quitter, but as a true contender. The boxing world had written you off as a quitter when you claimed a dislocated shoulder in your loss to Chris Byrd. I gave you a chance to prove everyone wrong. Even though you you were beginning to quit in your corner during the Lennox match, the cut luckily gave you an easy way out. The mark of a champion is to go out on his shield, not quit in his corner.

I proved myself in the only loss in me entire career, when I fought Jameel McCline . I refused to quit even though my rotator cuff was torn from the bone in the Fourth round.

Dr. Klitschko, the time has come to return the favor you owe me! I feel I gave you your opportunity to fight for the World Heavyweight Championship. It is now time for you to give me my chance.

My credentials and reputation are impeccable. I have only lost one fight and that was over eight years ago. I am the most active heavyweight in the world and none has fought better opposition than me in my last four fights, including a decisive win over the still dangerous Oliver McCall.

I think the reason you have been avoiding me is that you remember how easily I handled your little brother and you in training camp. K2 invites the best heavyweights to spar, and then eliminates those who pose a threat. Even Joey Gamache, Emanuel’s assistant, and Emanuel himself, were amazed that neither of you could handle my speed or ability. Larry Donald was likewise amazed as he watched our sparring sessions.

Finally, Dr. Klitschko, you owe the fans an opportunity to see you compete against a REAL contender, rather than blown-up cruiserweights or fighters you have already devastated. Lets get it on. I am ready willing and very able. RETURN THE FAVOR!
