Prescott vs. McCloskey to be Broadcast Live on ESPN3

US-based boxing fans interested in seeing the important 12-round WBA light welterweight elimination match between Colombian slugger Breidis Prescott (24-2, 19 KOs) and Irishman Paul McCloskey (22-1, 12 KOs) from the Odyssey Arena in Belfast, Northern Ireland, can do so online at ESPN3.com where coverage will start at 3:45 PM Eastern.

The intriguing bout will feature the classic boxer/puncher match-up, as Prescott is an offensive force with power in both hands and McCloskey is a classic boxer with excellent technique.

Both fighters say they will be looking to use the other as a stepping stone back into the ring with WBA “Super” Champion Amir Khan. Prescott dealt Khan his only loss in 2008 via knockout and McCloskey dropped an abbreviated six-round decision to Khan last April.

Marcos Maidana is the WBA “Regular” Light Welterweight Champion.
