Fonfara faces Jacon on Janaury 28th

CHICAGO, IL (January 21, 2011) With a thundering right hand earlier this week, Chicago’s Andrzej Fonfara sent the speed bag flying across the crowded gym at an open media workout at JABB Boxing Gym and proclaimed himself “ready for war” next Friday night, January 28th at the UIC Pavilion.

The 23 year old Fonfara, known as “The Polish Prince” has fast become one of Chicago’s most popular fighters. Displaying his trademark knockout power, Fonfara has built a massive legion of fans in the vast Chicago Polish community.

With a record of 15-2-0 (6KO’s), Fonfara will battle Sarasota, Florida native Adam Jaco, 9-3-1 (4KO’s), in a scheduled eight round light heavyweight tilt at WINDY CITY FIGHT NIGHT 15 presented by Dominic Pesoli’s 8 Count Productions.

Unbeaten over the last two and a half years, Fonfara thrilled the huge crowd at the UIC Pavilion in his last outing, brutally knocking out Anthony Doughty with a stunning right hand only 23 seconds into the first round on November 19th.

WINDY CITY FIGHT NIGHT 15 is headlined by a ten round lightweight showdown between former WBC world champion David Diaz, 35-3-1 (17KO’s) and “Red Hot” Robert Frankel, 27-9-1 (4KO’s) of Denver, Colorado.

Featured on the sensational undercard will be outstanding Chicago based prospects; undefeated welterweight Jaime Herrera, 5-0-0 (3KO’s), hard hitting welterweight Achour Esho, 9-0-0 (6KO’s), exciting newcomer, junior welterweight Genaro Mendez, 3-0-0 (2KO’s) and former amateur standout, junior welterweight Ramiro Carrillo, 3-0-0 (2KO’s),

Rounding out the card, outstanding undefeated Russian prospects, junior welterweight Aslanbek Kozaev, 13-0-0 (5KO’s) and welterweight Anton Novikov, 18-0-0 (6KO’s), are scheduled in separate six round bouts.
