Denis Lebedev: Marco Huck is in trouble on Saturday night!

boxingFrank Warren will complete a busy fortnight on Saturday when iron-fisted cruiserweight Denis Lebedev fights for the WBO world title. Warren’s fighters have been in world title action on three consecutive weekends. Scottish hero Ricky Burns successfully made the first defence of his WBO World Super-Featherweight crown in Glasgow on December 4 against Andreas Evensen. Then Nathan Cleverly beat late replacement Nadjib Mohammedi to win the Interim WBO World Light-Heavyweight title in Liverpool last Saturday

Now his unbeaten Russian star Lebedev takes on Marco Huck in Berlin, Germany, on December 18.

The hard-hitting southpaw is undefeated in 21 fights, and has 16 knockouts to his name.

Victims include former WBO World Champion Enzo Maccarinelli, whom he dispatched inside three rounds.

Lebedev has won his last eight fights inside the distance – and is eyeing another early finish against home-town favourite Huck.

“I am in the best shape of my life,” said 31-year-old Lebedev.

“Coming to Germany doesn’t bother me because I have fought all over the world before.

“I came to England to knock out Maccarinelli, and in my last fight I went to Germany and beat Alexander Alexeev in two rounds.

“Huck is in trouble on Saturday night.

“He is a very good fighter, and I respect all that he has achieved.

“But I plan to crush him.

“It has always been my dream to win the world title, and I am just one step away.

“I have been waiting a very long time for this opportunity. I have had to be patient, but now my time has come.”
