Popoca/Tucker On Nov 19

CHICAGO, IL (October 27, 2010) Chicago based Mexican fan favorite Ivan Popoca will face off against Martin Tucker of Toledo, Ohio in one of the feature bouts at WINDY CITY FIGHT NIGHT 13 on Friday, November 19th at the UIC Pavilion, it was announced today by Dominic Pesoli, President of 8 Count Productions.

The Popoca/Tucker junior welterweight battle is scheduled for eight rounds and is one of three outstanding eight round bouts on the card..

With his all-action aggressive style, Popoca has become a fan favorite in Chicago since turning professional three years ago.

Sporting an undefeated record of 14-0-1 with ten knockouts, he is returning to the ring following his finest performance, an outstanding fifth round stoppage of Jose Luis Soto-Karass on May 29th, a bout which was broadcast on Fox Sports Net’s TOP RANK LIVE series from the UIC Pavilion.

With a record of 7-6-0 (3KO’s), tough veteran Tucker has never been stopped, going the distance in numerous hard fought battles against an array of boxing’s finest prospects.

In October of 2009, Tucker headed to New York City where he upset then undefeated local prospect Michael Torres at Madison Square Garden , earning a six round decision.

Other eight round attractions featured at WINDY CITY FIGHT NIGHT 13 include a light heavyweight battle between Chicago’s Polish Prince, Andrzej Fonfara, 14-2-0 (5KO’s) battling Anthony Doughty, 9-1-0 (8KO’s) of Tuscaloosa, Alabama and Donatas Bondarevas, 9-1-1 (3KO’s), facing Indianapolis’ Mustafah Johnson, 8-8-1 (2KO’s) in a junior middleweight tilt.

Doors on the evening of the event will open at 7pm with the first bell at 8pm. The UIC Pavilion is located at 525 S. Racine , just one block south of the Eisenhower Expressway.
