UNBEATEN KENNEDY BOXES GONZALEZ IN JUNE 6 CO-FEATURE AT BALLY’S ATLANTIC CITY

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ—Undefeated super bantamweight Teon Kennedy, of North Philadelphia, will box Lucian Gonzalez, of Reading, PA, in the scheduled eight-round co-feature Saturday evening, June 6, at Bally’s Atlantic City. First fight 7.30 p.m.

Topping the seven-bout card is a scheduled 10-round contest for the North American Boxing Association (NABA) welterweight title between champion Mike Jones, of North Philadelphia, and Larry Mosley, of Los Angeles, CA.

Kennedy, 22, is coming off the toughest fight on his pro career, an eight-round victory over lefty Andre Wilson, of St. Joseph, MO, on March 6 at the Legendary Blue Horizon in Philadelphia. In that fight, Kennedy suffered a cut left eye and the first knockdown of his career, but he bounced back to earn a split decision.

A pro since 2007, Kennedy is 12-0, 5 K0s, and ranked No. 12 by the United States Boxing Association (USBA) at 122 pounds.

Kennedy, the 2004 National Golden Gloves champion at 112 pounds, also has defeated Thomas Snow, of Washington, DC, and Ca stulo Gonzalez, of Lowell, MA.

Gonzalez, 25, comes to Atlantic City off a seventh-round TK0 loss to undefeated (14-0) Miguel Garcia, of Oxnard, CA. Gonzalez accepted the fight in Maywood, CA, on four days’ notice.
A pro since 2005, Gonzalez is 9-5-1, 1 K0.

Against common foes, Gonzalez and Kennedy each have beaten Arthur Parker, Castulo Gonzalez and Robert DaLuz.

Gonzalez’ biggest win came Oct. 10, 2008, when he accepted a fight the very same day with Ireland’s Paul Hyland, drove to Philadelphia in the afternoon from Reading, PA, and scored an impressive four-round decision, the first loss for Hyland after 12 pro fights.

Tickets for the June 6 card at Bally’s Atlantic City are priced at $65 and $45. They are on sale at the offices of Peltz Boxing (215-765-0922) and also can be purchased online at www.peltzboxing.com. Tickets also can be purchased through TicketMaster (800-745-3000) or online at www.ticketmaster.com.
