LAS VEGAS, NV (December 24, 2008) For the first time in over four years, world class professional boxing will return to the Plaza Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, NV on Friday, January 23rd, it was jointly announced today by TKO BOXING Promotions and Reno’s “Let’s Get It On” Promotions..

“We’re looking to make “FIGHT NIGHT AT THE PLAZA” a bi-monthly event starting in January. The Plaza Hotel and Casino has a great tradition of supporting boxing with numerous future world champions having fought there including Antonio Tarver, Sergio Mora, Sergei Liakhovich, Steven Luevano, Julio Diaz and Guty Espadas Jr.

The Fremont Street Experience is known for its classic Las Vegas experience and we look forward to playing a major part in 2009.”

Presented in association with Rattlesnake Events, tickets for “FIGHT NIGHT AT THE PLAZA” are priced at $99.50, $59.50 and $24.50 and go on sale this Monday morning, December 29th at 10am at the Plaza Hotel and Casino Box Office (800-634-6575) and through their website, www.plazahotelcasino.com

The evening of boxing will take place in the Plaza Hotel and Casino Convention Hall, with doors opening at 6pm, first bell is scheduled at 7pm.

Headlining the inaugural “FIGHT NIGHT AT THE PLAZA” will be world ranked cruiserweight BJ Flores. Currently training in Las Vegas, the Phoenix resident is undefeated at 21-0-1 (13KO’s) and world ranked #2 by the IBF, #5 by the WBO, #8 by the WBA and #15 by the WBC.

The co-feature bout will mark the return of world title challenger Elvin Ayala, 18-3-1 (8KO’s). The New Haven , CT. resident challenged IBF middleweight champion Arthur Abraham on March 29th, losing a very hard fought battle.

In a special feature attraction, undefeated welterweight prospect Bayan Jargal, 9-0-1 (6KO’s), will make his Las Vegas debut in a six round bout.

The undercard features Reno, NV brothers Derek and Tyler Hinkey in four round bouts. Super middleweight Derek sports a record of 6-1-0 (6KO’s) while Tyler brings a record of 4-0-1 (3KO’s) into battle.

Rounding out “FIGHT NIGHT AT THE PLAZA” are prospects, junior lightweight Lonnie Smith, 5-2-2 (4KO’s) of Las Vegas and Fairfield, CA welterweight prospect, Gabriel Del Real, 1-0 (1KO), who will be appearing in separate four round bouts.

“LATIN LEGEND” LUIS YANEZ SET TO ANNOUNCE PRO DEBUT AT MEDIA CONFERENCE TUESDAY, DEC. 30 – AMERICAN AIRLINES CENTER

DALLAS, TEXAS — U.S. Amateur boxing star Luis Yanez, anointed as “The Latin Legend” in his hometown of Duncanville, Texas, is set to announce his professional debut at a Media Conference, this coming Tuesday, Dec. 30th at the American Airlines Center.

Yanez and promoter Barry Mendelson of The Mendelson Entertainment Group, LLC, are set to officially announce details of Yanez’ first pro bout at Media Conference, scheduled to start at 11:30 am in the South Lobby of the American Airlines Center (through entrance below giant outdoor video wall on south side). It will follow the Dallas Mavericks workout and media session at the AAC, as they prepare for the Minnesota Timberwolves game, later that evening.

The 20 year old Yanez is one of the most decorated U.S. amateur boxers in recent history, winning multiple national titles as well as being a Pan Am Games Gold Medalist and 2008 U.S. Olympian.
