Luis Ramos Scores First Round KO

ONTARIO, CA (September 27, 2008) Wasting no time on Friday night, 19 year old undefeated lightweight prospect Luis Ramos remained the talk of the Southern California boxing scene, as he devastatingly knocked Puerto Rican banger Celestino Rodriguez in the first round at the Doubletree Hotel in Ontario , California ..

In front of the sold out, standing room only crowd, the southpaw Ramos was aggressive from the opening bell hurting Rodriguez with power shots to the body. Seizing the opportunity, Ramos dropped the veteran with a left cross, right hook combo and the fight was stopped at the 2:30 mark.

“I hurt him badly early on and after he was dropped by the combination I knew the fight was over” said Ramos. ‘It was great to fight here; the fans have been very suppportive to me all over Southern California .”

Said manager Frank Espinoza, “This was another terrific display by Luis and truly showed why he’s such a hot prospect. He’s got very fast, powerful hands and when he’s got an opponent hurt he goes for the finish immediately.”

“In the last few weeks we’ve gotten great feedback from the fans and boxing writers about his last performance on ESPN2 in July and judging by the way the crowd reacted tonight when he walked to the ring and after the knockout it appears his popularity is really growing. Boxing fans want action and that’s what Luis gives them from the opening bell.”

With the win, Ramos of nearby Santa Ana , California improved to 7-0 (5KO’s).

Continued Espinoza, “We’re looking to have Luis back by early November and we’ll announce the details as soon as they’re finalized.”
