Back To Work: Kostya Tszyu

Dear Tszyu Crew, A very happy new year to all of you around the world! After Christmas I took my family to Thailand for a holiday and the only bad thing I can say is that it has ended and it is now time to get back to work. I am working on some new interesting business ventures in Australia and Russia and of course, I have been finding time to exercise every day.

In February I will be making some public appearances where you can meet me in person.

This coming Saturday night February 2 we are holding a round of the Kostya Tszyu Cup boxing at Bonnyrigg Sports Club in Bonnyrigg, NSW from 7:00pm. This will be an Australia vs. Ukraine international amateur boxing event. General admission and corporate table tickets are available by calling 0416 097087.

I am very proud to announce that I have been appointed as a celebrity ambassador for Australia’s National Cuddle Day on Friday 8th February 2008.

National Cuddle Day, with the support of The Smith Family charity, aims to celebrate the simple act of cuddling for the multitude of physical and mental benefits it offers.

Early next Friday morning I will be in Sydney City giving out free hugs. I will let you know next week exactly where I will be and at what time. If you are nearby, please come along and say hello.

Another Kostya Tszyu Cup amateur boxing night will be held on Saturday 9th February at the Croatian Club in Punchbowl, NSW from 7:30pm and I will be in attendance. General admission and corporate table tickets are available by calling 0416 097087.

On Sunday February 17, I will be in Newcastle at the “Kool Cars For Kids” All American Car Show. My good friend Glen Jennings is organising the event and I will be showing my 1968 Chevrolet Corvette Roadster.

The event at the Newcastle Entertainment Centre begins at 9:00am and there is a $2 entry fee. All proceeds raised on the day from the car show will be donated to Ronald McDonald House charity.

The next day I will then be travelling to Russia for another round of the Kostya Tszyu Cup on 23rd February.

I have been keeping an eye on the boxing world and really enjoyed watching Roy Jones Jr’s performance against Felix Trinidad at Madison Square Garden. Seeing 39 year-old Roy in action and also 43 year-old Bernard Hopkins’ recent performances, it seems that being 40 isn’t so old anymore.

The new book biography on me “Something Worth Fighting For” written by Paul Upham continues to sell well and it is pleasing to hear so many positive comments about it from you in person and also in the Forum at www.KostyaTszyu.com.

You can purchase a copy of “Something Worth Fighting For” from our on-line store at www.KostyaTszyu.com/shop today.

I will write to you again next week with more details about National Cuddle Day.

Remember the Tszyu Crew rules forever!

Your champion,

Kostya Tszyu
