Sycuan Ringside Promotions’ undefeated prospect Shawn “The Sioux Warrior” Hawk upped his record to 15-0-1 with a first-round knockout of Roy “Bo” Skipper in a bout scheduled for eight rounds Saturday night in New Town, N.D. Hawk, originally from Thompson, S.D., and now living in Los Angeles, stopped Skipper, from Laurel, Mass., at 2:57 of the first round for his 13th knockout..

The 23-year-old Hawk, who fought as a 228-pound heavyweight, cut Skipper over the right eye in the first minute and dropped him with a right to the head mid-way through the round. Hawk ended the one-sided bout with three blows to the head–straight right, left hook and left uppercut.

“I decided to move up in weight and try it as a heavyweight,” said Hawk. “It’s definitely possible that I’ll be going back to cruiserweight, but, really, I felt good as a heavyweight; I felt both quick and strong.”

Skipper now has a record of 11-5-2 with seven knockouts.

The semi-main event was on a card at the 4 Bears Resort and Casino.
