Press Conference Quotes

“Bad” Chad Dawson – “I’m excited. This has been a long time coming. I’ve been waiting for this moment. I need the support so we can bring more fight to New Haven. There were times in my life that were downhill, but my promoter, Jimmy Burchfield, stayed with me and he put this show together in my hometown. I ran into John Scully, a friend who is a real good trainer who picked up where Brian Clarke left off. I’m in shape all of the time. In training we do things you can’t believe – basketball and lots of sprints – to get in top shape. I lot of people may know my name, but they don’t know my face. Come April 1 they’ll know my face.”

Jason “Big Six” Estrada – “I’m not much for talking. I usually let these (fists) do my talking. I want to thank Chad for having me on his homecoming. It’s an honor fighting on his undercard; the kid can fight.”

Matt “Sharp Shooter” Remillard – “Come April 1 I’m hoping for a big crowd. I’m going to do what I have to do. It’s business, not the amateurs anymore.”

Matt Godfrey – “I’m getting to come here and fight on the undercard of Chad’s homecoming in front of a big crowd. The last (CES) fight, I couldn’t fight because of an injury. I was supposed to fight on the same card as my best friend, Jason Estrada, who made his pro debut. We’re going to do it this time. I’m friends with Matt. I see a lot of great things ahead. Someday we’re going to do a fight in Providence (his hometown) and I’ll be the main event, so this fight is like a job interview for me. I’ve been ready three weeks for this fight.”
