Zab Judah: still (getting into) crazy after all these years!

Fight fans have grown accustomed to pre-fight brawls, scuffles at weigh-ins and even testy behaviour between two rival fighters after the fight, yet yesterday, light-welterweights Zab Judah and Hevinson Herrera took things one step further. Attempting to weigh-in ahead of today’s scheduled ten-rounder in New York – a fight that would have marked former welterweight king Judah’s first fight since December of 2013 – the New Yorker and the Colombian got into a heated exchange before having a chance to step onto the scales.

According to a piece by Dan Rafael of ESPN.com, the two fighters were stood next to each other filling out their medical forms, when the trouble started.

Froch: “I never rated Groves”

A number of months ago, George Groves promised James DeGale that he would fight him if he managed to defeat Andre Derrell in a fight for the vacant IBF Super-Middleweight title, something DeGale went on to do on May 23rd.

If Groves himself manages to gain the WBC Super-Middleweight belt from Badou Jack when he fights him on Saturday, the showdown between the two brits is bound to take place. However, four time world champion Carl Froch, who famously beat George Groves twice, does not rate either of the fighters.

Nicholas Walters Likely to Return on December 12th says Arum

Unbeaten Jamaican “Axe Man,” Nicholas Walters, will be returning to the ring against a TBA opponent on December 12th, his promoter Bob Arum has revealed via ESPN.com.

The brakes were seemingly put on Walters’ sharp rise up the boxing ladder when he failed to make the 126 lb limit for his last fight, against Miguel Marriaga back in June, dropping his WBA (super) strap on the scales in the process, and now, as many thought he would, Arum has confirmed that a move to 130 lb is the most likely scenario for his fighter.
