India’s boxing sensation Vijender destroyed Dean Gillen inside one round with a phenomenal power-packed performance at the National Stadium in Dublin in his first ever professional fight in Ireland. Singh followed up his pro debut last month, when he smashed Sonny Whiting at the Manchester Arena, with another destructive display, but in less than half the time, as he pummelled Nottingham’s Gillen with big right hands. Gillian went down in the middle of the round, which was ruled a slip by the referee, but Singh went straight on the attack. He didn’t let Gillen rest as he landed punch after punch with Gillen in the corner until Singh detonated a devastating right that dropped him and left him unable to beat the referee’s ten-count at the end of the round.
Ruslan Provodnikov defeats Jesus Alvarez Rodriguez
Ruslan Provodnikov promised to put on a show and he didn’t disappoint as he overwhelmed unbeaten Jesus Alvarez Rodriguez in four rounds at the glitzy Salle Des Etoiles in Monte Carlo on Saturday night. With HRH Prince Albert looking on, the former WBO junior-welterweight champion wasn’t unduly stretched as he hit his stride early and pounded away until the finish of their scheduled 10-round welterweight clash. The Russian was the aggressor and although his Mexican opponent had some success counter-punching, he didn’t have the strength to hold off Provodnikov.
Cotto: ‘I Have Nothing Left to Prove’
Puerto Rican living legend, and WBC middleweight champion, Miguel Cotto has claimed he is relaxed and happy going into his crunch clash with Canelo Alvarez later this month, and regardless of outcome, feels he has nothing left to prove in his career.
While the 34 year old Cotto has certainly achieved beyond all expectation – being the only Puerto Rican to win world titles in four weight classes, his latest comments will not inspire any hope in fans desperate to see the sought after clash with Kazakh IBF/WBA 160 lb champion, Gennady Golovkin, should he first come past Alvarez in Las Vegas on the 21st.

Bradley: Ready to Show Off Improvements Under Atlas
It would appear that WBO welterweight champion, Tim Bradley’s new trainer Teddy Atlas, has taken the lion’s share of headlines ahead of tonight’s HBO clash with Brandon Rios, though Bradley claims he is more than fine with that and fans will see the fruits of their labour in the ring.
