“When I was a young boxer starting out, of course you never imagine all of this coming true. However, in my heart I’ve always wanted this, and I’ve always dreamed of the day in which my discipline would pave the way to where I am.

During the classic head to head photo after the press conference, Huck pushed his Ukrainian opponent who managed to stay calm.
“I wanted to show Usyk that he is my hometown and that he should be prepared for the battle of his life on Saturday,” said Huck.
After the press conference, a furious Usyk hurried out of the building saying: “I will bury him on Saturday.”

Being an amatuer boxer myself I am on different gyms across my hometown of Houston all the time. Those gyms are always packed. Full of fighters and spectators both kids and adults. Male and female. Many of them with aspirations of turning pro and becoming champions.

Headlining the show will be Olympic silver medallist, Heavyweight Joe ‘Juggernaut’ Joyce who will make his professional debut against former WBO Inter-Continental Champion Ian Lewison. Lewison brings a wealth of experience to the ring, with a 12-3 record, winning 8 of these by knockout. His most recent bout against world-ranked Dillian Whyte, provided an enthralling 10-round contest for the British Heavyweight title.
Tickets for the blockbuster Heavyweight World title clash between Anthony Joshua MBE and Kubrat Pulev go on pre-sale to Matchroom Fight Pass members at midday on Monday and general sale on Tuesday ahead of the October 28 event live on Sky Sports Box Office. Joshua is back in action after his epic win over Wladimir Klitschko at Wembley Stadium, and the unbeaten British star now heads to Wales’ national stadium to face IBF mandatory challenger Pulev.
Tickets for the event are priced at £40, £60, £80, £100, £200, £300 and £500 – with VIP tickets priced at £1500.
Billy Joe Saunders is in the best shape of his career under Dominic Ingle for his September 16th World title defence. After some fitness issues in his last fight the Hertfordshire native has turned things around and is ripped and ready for ‘El Mongoose’.
Willie Monroe Jr however is one of the few that isn’t impressed with Saunders’ new found physique. Posting on Instagram, the former World title challenger argued: “[It] really doesn’t matter how good of shape a man can get into in 12 weeks when compared to a man who lives the ‘in-shape’ life.”

Fight fans, those who appreciate the considerable talents of the smaller men in particular, are bracing for a great action fight this Saturday night in Carson, California. Dubbed “Superfly,” Saturday’s card is of course headlined by Srisaket Sor Rungvisai-Roman Gonzalez II.
Back in March, the Thai fighter and the Nicaraguan put on a terrific fight, one that saw “Chocolatito,” who was closing in on greatness – greatness he may still achieve – lose for the first time as a pro. Falling to 46-1 and losing his WBC 115 pound belt, Gonzalez lost what many fans felt was a debatable decision. But now, although he still believes he won the fight in March, Gonzalez is determined to do everything he has to do so as to get revenge.
