Rios picks Maidana to beat Broner

maidana32434Brandon Rios is picking #2 WBA to defeat WBA welterweight champion Adrien Broner (27-0, 22 KO’s) in their pay-per-view fight on Showtime on December 14th at the MGM Grand, Grand Garden Arena, in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA. Rios thinks that Broner isn’t unhittable like Floyd Mayweather Jr., and he likes the power that Maidana has after sparring 10 rounds with him. Rios says the sparring with Maidana was pretty brutal.

Rios told esnewsreporting.com “I think it’s going to be a tough fight, but I think he [Maidana] can pull it off. Broner showed [against Paulie Malignaggi] that he can be hit. He’s not like Mayweather. When Maidana cracks, he cracks hard.”

Weigh-In Video: Brook’s trainer expects KO victory for Kell over Senchenko

YouTube video
Dominic Ingle, the trainer for unbeaten Kell Brook (30-0, 20 KO’s), is expecting a tough fight for him this Saturday night against former WBA welterweight title holder Vyacheslav Senchenko (34-1, 23 KO’s), but ultimately Ingle sees Brook getting to him past the 9th round to record a knockout in this fight in their IBF eliminator bout at the Motorpoint Arena in Sheffield, UK.

Brook needs a victory in this fight to move forward for another shot against IBF welterweight champion Devon Alexander.

Brook fought a won an IBF eliminator last year in defeating Hector Saldivia. But then unfortunately Brook suffered two injuries that got in the way of his title shot against Alexander. This time Brook intends on making the most of his opportunities by beating the 36-year-old Senchenko, and then finally getting his shot against Alexander.

Burns-Beltran 99 percent done for February

burns4545Contender Raymundo Beltran (28-6-1, 17 KO’s) will be getting a second shot at WBO lightweight champion Ricky Burns (36-2-1, 11 KO’s) in February next year, as negotiations between the two fighters are reportedly close to being done, according to Burns’ manager Alex Morrison.

The fight will take place in Glasgow, Scotland. Beltran wanted a rematch in another venue, but as the challenger he obviously didn’t have the kind of pull needed to dictate where the fight would take place.

Beltran and Burns fought last September in Glasgow, Scotland it’s fairly unanimous among boxing fans that Beltran did more than enough to deserve the victory over Burns.

Quillin: Rosado will have to accept defeat

007 Quillin and Rosado faceoff IMG_0169WBO middleweight champion Peter Quillin (29-0, 21 KO’s) sees himself winning on Saturday night in his title defense against Gabriel Rosado (21-6, 13 KO’s) at the Boardwalk Hall, in Atlantic City, New Jersey, USA. Quillin, 30, sees himself getting a stoppage in over #9 WBO Rosado, and it’s difficult to disagree with that belief because this fight on paper looks to be about as competitive as Quillin’s first title defense against Fernando Guerrero.

That fight was a mismatch the moment it was signed and Quillin took a lot of heat from boxing fans for not taking on a more dangerous opponent. Now we’re getting a repeat of that with Quillin taking on another less than dangerous foe in Rosado, and naturally Quillin realizes that he’s likely to win easily.
