Greg “The Villain” Vendetti and Derek “The Surgeon” Silveira put on an entertaining, nonstop, action-packed fight, in which the momentum swung back and forth for the first half of the bout, until Vendetti took over the last couple of rounds as he got the better of the exchanges and landed the more powerful shots, en route to a hard fought eight-round unanimous decision via two scorecards (78-74) and one scorecard (77-75).

Tagoe outclasses Saucedo to defend IBO Lightweight belt
Ghana’s Emmanuel ‘Game Boy’ Tagoe secured the 28th straight win of his career with a round 10 technical knockout victory over Fernando David Saucedo of Argentina on Saturday night in Accra.
Referee Roger Barnor waived the fight over when he was still counting for Saucedo who had just been knocked down for the umpteenth time in a rather boring fight at the Bukom Boxing Arena in the Ghanaian capital.
Zab Judah returns with win, decisions Noel Mejia Rincon over ten in Canada
Former two-weight world ruler Zab Judah made a successful return to the ring last night, widely decisioning Mexican journeyman Noel Mejia Rincon over ten rounds in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Judah, now aged 40 and boxing for the first time since January of 2017, hurt his man early on, in round-two, but was then largely content to box and outspeed his opponent to the final bell.
Matthysse knocks Kiram out cold in 8th round!
In his third opportunity at a world title, Argentine knockout artist Lucas “La Maquina” Matthysse (39-4, 36 KOs) stopped previously undefeated Thai superstar Tewa Kiram (37-1, 27 KOs) in the eighth round of a scheduled 12-round fight to win the WBA Welterweight World Championship on HBO Boxing After Dark in front of a roaring crowd of 6,143 boxing fans at Los Angeles’ “Fabulous” Forum.

WBA World lightweight champion Jorge Linares (44-3, 27 KOs) had a harder time than expected in defeating #15 WBA Mercito Gesta (31-2-2, 17 KOs) by a 12 round unanimous decision in a stay busy fight at The Forum in Inglewood, California. The scores were 118-110, 117-110 and 118-110.

Results: Usyk beats Briedis in close fight
WBO cruiserweight champion Oleksandr Usyk won a close 12 round majority decision on Saturday night against WBC cruiserweight champion Mairis Briedis in thier semifinals fight in the World Boxing Super Series at the Riga Arena in Riga, Latvia. The scores were 115-113, 115-113 for Usyk, and 114-114.
Briedis seemed to fade after the 2nd round. Usyk came on to dominate until the later rounds. Briedis fought well in rounds 1, 6, 9 and 12.

Polish fan favourite Adam Kownacki improved to 17-0(14) on last night’s Errol Spence-Lamont Peterson card, the 28 year old slugger stopping Ukrainian Iago Kiladze in the sixth-round of an entertaining slugfest. Kownacki, very much a what you see is what you get type of warrior, came forward all night, looking to put on pressure and sling bombs.
