Thank you, operator. I’d like to say good evening, good afternoon, and good morning to those of us on the call joining across time zones across the northern hemisphere here. All of us at SHOWTIME are excited to present a SHOWTIME BOXING INTERNATIONAL (broadcast), a nice unification fight between Carl Frampton and Scott Quigg for super bantamweight championships. This is the third presentation of SHOWTIME BOXING INTERNATIONAL where we will partner with a co-production with a UK broadcaster. In this case on Saturday, Feb. 27, the Sky Sports broadcast and coverage of that fight will be shown live on SHO EXTREME.

We are just days away from a fight that was at least three years in the making: Scott Quigg against Carl Frampton in a super-bantamweight blockbuster that will have its venue, The Manchester Arena, rocking on February 27th.

For months and months now, the two unbeaten stars have been taunting one another, with promises of knockouts and of the beaten man being “exposed.” Quigg, trained by ace trainer Joe Gallagher, is convinced he will emerge victorious, while Frampton, guided by Barry McGuigan and trained by his son, Shane, has no doubt it will be he who has his hand raised.

Carl Frampton and Scott Quigg came head-to-head today in London for the first of the 3 city press tour dates to promote their IBF/WBA 122 lb super bantamweight unification on February 27th, with Frampton continuing to assert that it is he, and not Quigg, who is the genuine world champion.

IBF boss, Frampton, believes Quigg’s team have also taken confidence in the fact that he had a less than auspicious start to his US debut last time out in July, touching down twice early against little known Mexican, Alejandro Gonzalez Jr before going on to win; events he feels brought about the fight.

The wait for UK fans is at last over as it’s been officially announced that super-bantamweight rivals, Carl Frampton and Scott Quigg are set to meet in a huge IBF/WBA unification early next year.

After much to-ing and fro-ing between the two camps over recent weeks and months, a February 27th date for the fight at the Manchester Arena was announced live on Sky Sports News in the UK this afternoon.

2nd tier WBA super-bantamweight champion, Scott Quigg, and IBF 122 lb boss, Carl Frampton are said to be looking at a Manchester venue and February date for their UK mega-fight, with Quigg saying it is ‘closer than it ever has been.’

Over the last weeks and months, the fight has shifted further away, then closer again, with a neutral venue of appropriate size one of the many sticking points between the two camps, although the Bury fighter has told Sky Sports that he is confident the fans will get to see this fight early in 2016.

It may well still prove to be a case of wishful thinking, though Matchroom Boxing boss Eddie Hearn has today stated he is confident in being able to make a deal for his fighter Scott Quigg to face IBF 122lb champion Carl Frampton in early 2016.

2nd tier WBA titlist Quigg, and the Al Haymon advised Belfast fighter – who holds a bone fide world title – have been negotiating through their respective camps over recent weeks, with numerous sticking points holding up the talks, though financial minutiae and a neutral venue for the fight are thought to be chief among them.

The much sought after 122 lb UK unification clash between IBF boss Carl Frampton and WBA (reg) titlist, Scott Quigg is closer than ever before according to both parties, although it’s still far from a done deal yet.

The ongoing, back and forth saga, has seen numerous shifts toward hot and cold, on and off, with Hearn previously offering a flat £1.5 million offer that was rejected by team Frampton when the financial minutiae – including PPV revenue – was scrutinzed, potentially leaving Frampton worse off than Quigg, who is only a 2nd tier belt holder.

With a Scott Quigg/Nonito Donaire fight looking increasingly like it won’t happen – after comments made by the latter’s wife recently – a degree of hope and expectation has once again turned to the sought-after domestic world title clash at super bantamweight between Quigg and Northern Ireland’s IBF boss, Carl Frampton.

Speaking to mirror.co.uk however, the WBA (reg) champion’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, has expressed his distaste at what he calls ‘arrogance’ from the Northern Irishman’s camp, complaining the fight is once again moving further away after his revised financial offer to the ‘Jackal’s’ team was turned down.
