There really is no need for any further hype going into this Saturday’s all-Mexican battle between Canelo Alvarez and Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. The fight has sold out The T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas and big pay-per-view numbers are assured. A genuine grudge-match, Canelo Vs. Chavez Jr is, according to promoter Oscar De La Hoya, the biggest fight in Mexican boxing history.

Part of the reason is the very real dislike, even hate the two warriors have for one another. De La Hoya, in speaking with The Las Vegas Review-Journal, says the intensity of the dislike the two fighters have for each other reminds him of the classic, and bitter rivalry two other great Mexican warriors engaged in, in Marco Antonio Barrera and Erik Morales. It is the prospect of as great a fight that has pulled in the fans.

The 45-sec ad, promoting the massive May 6 catchweight mega-fight all of Mexico, along with around half of America, will be watching, both gets the juices flowing for the big fight and takes a punch at President Trump’s infamous wall plans. Both boxers, pumped up, oiled up and looking toned up, quite literally run right through the wall and crash their way into the heart of fabulous Las Vegas, ready to fight and thrill.

There will be much at stake between the two warriors who will clash on May 6. The huge Canelo Alvarez-Julio Cesar Chavez Junior rumble, unofficially tagged, “The Battle of Mexico,” will see the the two stars fighting, above all else, for sheer pride. Quite literally, an entire country will be tuning in over the huge Mexican holiday that is Cinco de Mayo.

In the past, we’ve seen Chavez, the former WBC middleweight ruler, let himself down in fights due to his being either overweight or unfocused; even both. But “The Son of A Legend” has vowed to be at his absolute best for May 6, and so far he has kept his word, getting his body finely tuned, any excess weight almost gone ahead of the 164.5 catch-weight weigh-in.
