Puerto Rico’s Jose Pedraza achieved plenty in defeating tough and seasoned Mexican warrior Raymundo Beltran last night. Pedraza, now 25-1(12) won the WBO lightweight title with his 12-round unanimous decision victory, he also became a two-weight world champ (having previously held the IBF super-featherweight crown) and, perhaps biggest of all, the 29 year old earned himself a big fight with reigning pound-for-pound king Vasyl Lomachenko.
Jose Pedraza dethroned WBO lightweight champion Raymundo Beltran, and WBO super bantamweight champion Isaac Dogboe crushed Hidenori Otake (31-3-3, 14 KOs) by a 1st round knockout on Top Rank Boxing on ESPN+ on Saturday night at the Gila River Arena in Glendale, Arizona.
Raymundo Beltran and Jose Pedraza, seasoned warriors both, Beltran especially, will fight on Saturday night, with the Mexican tough guy defending his hard earned WBO lightweight title for the first time.
James DeGale and Badou Jack fought their hearts out tonight in a unification fight at 168, but the two of them had to leave the ring after fighting to a 12 round draw at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
