Chris Eubank Jr. is predicting a victory for George Groves (26-3, 19 KOs) over his Ali Trophy quarter-final opponent Jamie Cox (24-0, 13 KOs) on Saturday at The SSE Arena, Wembley in London.

Eubank Jr. earned his spot in the semi-final of the World Boxing Super Series when he dominated and knocked out Turkish Avni Yildirim in round three in Stuttgart last weekend.

James DeGale has hinted rival George Groves has too many miles on the clock to win World Boxing Super Series.

The IBF super-middleweight champion was ruled out of the multi-million pound tournament by a shoulder injury that needed surgery, but says he wants the winner – and he hopes it’s Groves.

Groves, a narrow points winner over DeGale six years ago, meets Jamie Cox in the quarter finals at the SSE Arena in the quarter finals on Saturday night and victory will lead to a semi final clash against Chris Eubank jr.

The word from the gym is George Groves has turned the clock back ahead of his World Boxing Super Series clash with Jamie Cox at Wembley Arena on Saturday night.

Groves also puts his WBA Super world super-middleweight title on the line in a fight screened on ITV Box Office and to prepare for his first defence, the 29 year old has been sparring unbeaten southpaw Lerrone Richards.

Richards first sparred Groves a couple of years ago – and says much has changed since then.

In his fourth attempt to capture a world title, Saint George Groves claimed the vacant WBA Super-middleweight belt following a bruising encounter with Fedor Chudinov, in the chief support to Kell Brook’s similarly bruising liaison with Errol Spence Jnr. under the arc lights of Bramall Lane and 27,000 fight fans.

George Groves earned it the hard way. And he really did earn it, fighting through a broken jaw from the 3rd round onwards, against the icy strength and come-forward aggression of his Russian opponent, finally stopping him on his feet in the middle of a brutal 6th round.

Tonight in Sheffield, in a great, incredibly fast-paced action fight, George Groves became a world champion at the fourth time of asking, stopping a very tough and game Fedor Chudinov in the 6th round. Groves really did hit Chudinov with absolutely everything in the 6th, giving the referee no choice but to dive in and call a halt.

The official time was 1:14 of the sixth and Groves improved to 26-3(19). Russia’s Chudinov, in being stopped for the first time as a pro, is now 14-2(10).
