LONDON (25 Oct) – Knockout heavyweight sensation Deontay Wilder has earmarked a world title clash with one of the Klitschko brothers early next year before crossing the Atlantic to take care of brash-talking Tyson Fury.

The ‘Bronze Bomber’, who has sent shockwaves through the heavyweight division after laying out all 29 of his past opponents, returns to the ring this weekend to face Nicolai Firtha on the undercard of Bernard Hopkins’ world title defence against Karo Murat in Atlantic City.

Deontay Wilder looking for KO No. 30 against Firtha this Saturday

003WildervictoryIMG_3358Undefeated #3 WBC heavyweight contender Deontay Wilder (29-0, 29 KO’s) will be looking for knockout #30 this Saturday night at the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, New Jersey. The 6’7” Deontay has started off his career with 29 straight knockouts since capturing a bronze medal in the 2008 Olympics for the United States.

The 6’7” Deontay was still pretty raw when he first turned pro in 2008, but he’s steadily improved to the point where he’s starting to look very polished. Deontay’s recent string of early knockouts over the likes of Siarhei Liakhovich, Audley Harrison and Kelvin Price shows the kind of improvement that Deontay has made in his game.

These same opponents would have likely extended Deontay a little if he had fought them in 2009 when he was still finding his way in the division. But Deontay has really made a ton of progress of late, and this Saturday boxing fans will get a chance to see if he’s ready to start taking on tougher challenges in the division.

After claiming a victory over Alexander Povetkin, Wladimir Klitschko is back on the hunt for the next opponent. But who is there left to fight?

David Haye will always linger as one of the options for Wladimir, but it seems as though there is no more interest in seeing the two fighters face each other again. The boxing community is not in favor of their rematch, proposing that it would be a waste of time for everyone.

Wilder vs. Firtha on Hopkins-Murat card next month

003WildervictoryIMG_3358Unbeaten KO artist Deontay Wilder will face experienced big guy Nicolai Firtha in his next pro outing, on the Bernard Hopkins-Karo Murat under-card at The Barclays Centre New York on October 26th.

Wilder, 29-0(29) is coming off that scary 1st-round destruction of former WBO heavyweight titlist Serhai Liakhovich and it will be interesting to see if he can keep his KO streak going against the 34-year-old who is both big and game.

Firtha, 21-10-1(8) is not a top-rated contender and his record is somewhat patchy, yet he has been in with some big names and acquitted himself well. Since being stopped (arguably prematurely) in the 5th-round by Tyson Fury in what was a sizzling slugfest while it lasted, Firtha has dropped a 12-round decision to Johnathon Banks (who went on to ruin Seth Mitchell via 2nd-round stoppage, before Banks lost the return via forgettable 12-round snoozer) and won a stay-busy six-rounder against Robert Hawkins.

deontay32 - CopyUnbeaten heavyweight contender Deontay Wilder (29-0, 29 KO’s) will be looking to pick up his 30th consecutive knockout against the always tough Nicolai Firtha (21-10-1, 8 KO’s) on October 26th at the Boardwalk Hall, in Atlantic City, New Jersey, USA. The Deontay-Firtha fight will be on the undercard of Bernard Hopkins vs. Kara Furat and Peter Quillin vs. Gabriel Rosado card.

At this point, the Wilder vs. Firtha fight might not be televised. However, boxing fans will no doubt get to see clips of the fight if that happens. It’s likely not going to last more than 1 round at best, so boxing fans won’t miss a lot by not being able to see the entire Deontay vs.Firtha fight, if Showtime chooses not to televise it.

Chris Arreola vs. Deontay Wilder in 2014? It Only Makes Sense

wilder4411Chris Arreola (36-3-0) was meant to be a boxer. He is lacking nothing, but has had a somewhat rough spell.

After his loss to Vitali Klitschko in 2009, Arreola went on to secure a win against Brain Minto, and then once again suffer a loss against Tomasz Adamek in 2010. Since then, Arreola has won 8 and lost one fight. His last loss was to Bermane Stiverne, the man who is now trying to get a chance at beating Vitali Klitschko.

Arreola’s recent win was a one round annihilation of Seth Mitchell, leaving Arreola looking for his next big fight. Chris has been chasing another big title fight for all these years, but has somehow been unable to find one.

Chisora wants Deontay Wilder and Tomasz Adamek

chisora45 British heavyweight star Dereck Chisora has slammed rival heavyweights Tomasz Adamek and Deontay Wilder and told them he’s coming for them next.

Chisora takes on German Edmund Gerber for the Vacant European Heavyweight title on Saturday 21st September at the Copper Box Arena with top contenders Adamek and Wilder also on his hit list as he marches towards a second world title shot.

Talks with Adamek’s promoter had been ongoing for Chisora to face the Polish hero, a former world champion at light-heavyweight and cruiserweight, later this year in London, but terms could not be agreed.

Arreola Destroys A Game Mitchell – Wilder Or Stiverne II Next?

Looking as focused as can be, Arreola wasted no time testing Mitchell’s chin and pretty soon the writing was on the wall. Mitchell ate plenty of leather in a short period of time and he was all over the place, hurt bad and clumsily trying to hold on. Arreola, though, would not be denied.

Deontay Wilder: Arreola’s afraid of me; he’s already running

Chris Arreola vs Seth MitchellUnbeaten heavyweight Deontay Wilder (29-0, 29 KO’s) can already smell fear coming from Chris Arreola (36-3, 31 KO’s) now that he’s in a position where Golden Boy Promotions is trying to match him up against him. Arreola destroyed Seth Mitchell (26-2-1, 19 KO’s) in a 1st round TKO in Indio, California.

Deontay saw the fight he’s licking his chops at getting Arreola in the ring to face him, and he’s hoping Oscar De La Hoya of Golden Boy Promotions will be able to get Arreola to accept the fight.

Oscar sent out a twitter message to Showtime to see what they thought of the idea of Arreola and Deontay mixing it up. There’s no question they’ll go for the idea, especially after the God awful mismatch they televised tonight between Arreola and Mitchell.
