A rematch any time soon for these two will lead to some serious Brain Damage. They’re too similiar in size, strength, height, everything.. they Nullify each other and will only have another 12 round SLUG FEST..

Fight Aficionado

Regardless of who y’all think won, IMO the stock of both Provodnikov and Bradley rose after such a great fight. But they both need a long rest. That type of fight puts years on the odometer. Bigups to both guys.

Thurman aint all taht, any fighter with a bit of strength and skill will beat him.

Posted March 19, 2013 11:28 am

“took way too much punishment to escape with nothing”…. This I also think is true…..Bradley may have to go back to college and take on some other new challenge.

Adrian youre right….P4p rankings usually cant sometimes determine what a low ranked fighter is capable of doing to a higher ranked one. This fight is a case in point! I think, Bradley should go down a division, he should be more effective there. To me, he looks like his muscles inhibit crisper movement, movement that he should be able to better put together at a lighter weight. I think Bradley is better than what we saw…. Provodnikovs strength and movement is excellent at this weight, his skills just happen to be limited….he can always learn if he’s not one to settle for less.

Thurman’s the #1 contender for the wbo title too. Now if that means Brad will have to fight him next then he has some pondering to do.

Posted March 19, 2013 8:39 am

Bradley got what I would classify as a phyrric victory – he won the fight but lost the battle. Victors of such nature will never be the same again.

Btw put Thurman against either breadly or ruslan he will smoke them!
Thurman won 120 to 108 In all scorecards inthe last fight against zavec and some guys here were b–ch ing how he failed to tko zavec ,
Whe the champion breadly gets extremely hurt against a ne.36 ranked welterweight they praise him more??
Put him against Thurman and will see what will happen

Gold , o really? What am I saying here gold? I said prov overspent himself in the second round because he saw the opportunity
To finish breadly and he gave it all out and payed for it for the rest of the fight , I didn’t say prov is skilled
And the best I was analyzing the fight and btw is breadly the one who should have showed us
Why is ranked 4 th as a p4p fighter and he failed miserably and this goes to show you how p4p ranking is way off
,prov was ranked nr 36 in the boxrec in the ww devision and breadly champion and a p4p nr.4 ???? Lol
That is sick!!!

Did Bradley had the same PED in his system that Mariusz Wach had with Wlad fight? Wach also didn’t go down no matter what nukes 250lb powerful Wlad threw at him minus a kitchen sink. I mean it was just impossible anyone to be still standing after that kind of punishment. Bradley fights in a lot lighter weight though so not so huge punches as you’d expect from HWs. Wach tested positive so you can say there is a certain kind of a “chin PED” on the markets too – this is mighty dangerous since you could end up with permanent brain damage. It’s better to be KOd than show “bravery” and end up brain damaged in your later life, IMHO.

Great fight, really. Both fighters will never be the same though… Bradley is done, took way too much punishment for anybody to escape with nothing. Ruslan reminded me of the CW Jirov, and will probably follow the same path.

Against CERTAIN opponents Provodnikok strengths will be sufficient for the win, but there will be more complete fighters that will EMBARRASS the petunias out of such one dimensional skill set. Thats why, to see if Broner is possibly the real deal, this is a fighter he should test his “skilz” on after facing feather fisted Mallinagi.

Adrian, Prov didnt cut the ring off with ease in the 1st 2 rounds, it was Bradley who made the mistake of deciding to go toe to toe. Bradley eventually didnt simply back up without throwing any punches as a basic “runner” would do. Bradley continued to throw punches which left himself open to counters; Prov didnt have a clue on how to counter. He chased him hoping to catch him along the ropes or in a corner. Prov being “overspent” means he doesnt know how to pace himself, which is a skill he needs to learn. All professional boxers NEED to have these tools as part of their arsenal, just like a basketball player needs to pace himself as he runs up and down the court and know how to space himself for defensive plays. Prov has strengths but needs to work on his weaknesses.

Bradley was hit 5 times in the same spot and in the same way Marquez hit Pacquiao, with just 1 shot for the KO! To make matters worse Brad says Sleepyuiao doesnt hit as hard as Provodnikov! Bradley may have to change careers….accountants and technicians are in heavy demand….he cant afford to keep getting hit like that…boxing isnt worth it!! The verdict is still out on Pacquiao: no one has any idea if he’s the same fighter, after receiving just ONE of those punches. Its a good thing Prov only had the “waiting” come forward offensive skill set, as he absorbed punches from a retreating accurate punching opponent. If Prov had what a Hagler or a young Mike Tyson had, It wouldv been “lights out” rather early for Tim. Prov will be EXTRA dangerous when he does learn!!

great fight exceed my expectation!

Jo Jo

This fight beats the Boring fight of last weeks Bernard Borekins. I dont care if Bardley and Rus aren’t the best skilled they came to fight and they sure fought there hearts out.

Posted March 19, 2013 1:08 am

Ruslan did a fine job in the ring. Great strength in his punches and can take a tremdous good punch. Hats off to Ruslan !

Posted March 19, 2013 1:06 am

Bradley won because a knockdown was missed. I had Bradley winning even counting that knockdown. He was clearly the better boxer but he fought Ruslan’s fight. I believe Ruslan, although out-punched by over 100 punches during the fight, did the most damage. For people who had Provodnkov winning, I see your point … He was much more effective when he did land — and I was sure he was going to knock Bradley out. Bradley fought a very dumb fight and very nearly got smoked.. He also needs to get a little more crack on his jab and stop swinging for the seats … or he’ll lose a rematch for certain. Bradley is no puncher and shouldn’t try to be.

Guys a lot who are saying that ruslan don’t know how to cut the ring off you are missing one fact ,
The reason ruslan wasn’t throwing punches is that he was overspent
After second round and usually in every round after the second round he was trying to recover and that’s why he always managed to hurt breadly
At the end of almost every round ,it’s not like breadly wanted to trade with him always in the of the round
It is because ruslan attacked then and it wasn’t about not knowing to cut the ring off,
Actualy I think he is really good at cutting the ring off you can clearly see him do that with ease in the first 2 Rounds.

Posted March 18, 2013 11:19 pm

But if Broner used his legs he would not have a problem with Ruslan unless Ruslan learns to cut the ring off. Following around Bradley and not throwing punches is what cost him this fight

Posted March 18, 2013 10:53 pm

I saw Bradley get hit 5x solid, with (maybe more) the same punch… on the same spot that Marquez KO’d Pacquiao! One has to really wonder if Bradley will ever be the same. Bradley may need to change professions…. technicians and accountants are in heavy demand… he, now may have to go that route – or eventually, if he ever gets hit like that again! The verdict is out on Pac, we STILL have no idea if he’s the same fighter….from just that ONE shot!!!

Posted March 18, 2013 10:32 pm

Correction….Broner would have to decide what he’d do on the ropes…..

Posted March 18, 2013 9:57 pm

Congrats to Provodnikov, he made the fight intriguing from beginning to end by the way he stalked Bradly! He deserves credit for intensity and giving Desert Storm his 1st real MAJOR test. His problem was not being able to cut off the ring or go to the body! He deserves credit for his limitless intensity, but lacked sufficient skills with all the passion. Broner should now display, or should I say, truly test his skills with a man like this! Broner would have to decide what he’d choose to do on the ropes once he’s cornered with power like this. A very good test indeed!

The only things missing in this fight was lots of blood and a brutal KO!

Posted March 18, 2013 9:10 pm

stupid loser

All things good to say about the fight and both fighters. Hope they recover well and looking forward to watching their next fights.

Posted March 18, 2013 9:09 pm

@Informer, ruslan it’s amazin how he actualy managed to survive the 3rd because he was
All spent from the second round because he thought he was going to finish breadly and gave everything he had
And as soon as I saw that breadly managed to survive the second round I was sure ruslan will have nothing
Left and go down in the 3rd round but he did survive and that’s why he didn’t even try to punch in the 3rd round.
So ruslan wasn’t hurt he was overspent and that’s why he usually attacked breadly always last 50 second of almost every round!

Posted March 18, 2013 7:28 pm

I could live with the decision, but I can’t stand anymore of Roy Jones’ bias ass no more. Bradley was rocked and wobbled, and Max was saying “Bradley’s hurt” but all Jones could say is “Oh, Bradley just landed a good shot!” “Look at Bradley’s shots!”

Lennox Fan

I want to see Boxstradamus in the ring with one of them. :)

Bradley won this fight by a point in my opinion. Ruslan should of won by KO but he did not keep the pressure on, if he would of he would of stopped Bradley. So Ruslan only has himself to blame. But besides that he showed a lot of heart and this was a goof fight

Posted March 18, 2013 6:22 pm

One thing that I don’t know that people notice is that Bradley did hurt Ruslan a few times in this fight. At the beginning of the 3rd round Bradley caught Ruslan clean and he wasn’t the same for a couple of rounds. Those shots were hurting Ruslan. Credit Ruslan’s chin and heart. Roach was about to stop it late because of the accumulation of punishment. Ruslan was not hurt as bad as Frasier in Manila, but his face looked about the same. It sort of reminded me of the Thrilla in Manila. One guy won the fight, but in with respect to long term health down the road, the other guy won.

Posted March 18, 2013 6:00 pm

The fight was a genuine war; both combatants took a “whup’n,” By the last round, Provodnikov’s face resembled a raw sirloin steak. Bradley for his part, had slurred speech and a memory lapse with Max. Provodnikov literally eats shots to the head. He just blinks and plods forward, stalking his opponent. That Russian is one scary dude!

Posted March 18, 2013 5:58 pm

I think the first KD that was not called was probably because it looked like Ruslan gave Bradley a little shove downward right before he fell. I think is Ruslan would have just stepped back Bradley would have fallen on his own. I had Bradley winning close but would not have been a bad call if a draw or for Ruslan. I think we should be celebrating both of these fighter’s efforts and they should be lobbying along with the fans for a big money rematch.

The gang of Referee Pat Russell and ringside judges should be disciplined for corrupted judgement or banned from the boxing world to save the live of boxing. Shame on you, Tim Bradley accepting the decision. He (Tim) knows that he lost the fight. If he (Tim) watches the video again, he would be more convinced. Sorry Tim, you are the fake champion, not the real one. If I were you, I would confer that belt to Provodnikov (true champion) in public for sake of just in the world we need.

The Low Blow !

ref was shocking !

You know when the fabled saying rocke’m socke’m robots is commentated then your watching an exiting fight, what a beating they both took it was unreal and amazing to watch if lacking some finesse.

These two Great Boxers are also nice guys who always show respect and prove you don’t have to come off as a Prik to get fight fans interested…

Posted March 18, 2013 4:23 pm

This was a great fight thanks to both fighters who came to fight and didn’t put on a Snooze fest like Slopkins or Fraudes fights… These guys fought from beginning to end and never once backed off of the Gas Pedal.. both got hammered and both landed BOMBS!!! Great fight.

Congrats to Provodnikov!!! He helped to put on a GOOD Show!!
