i THINK HIS HANDLERS WANT HIM TO REACH 30 WINS AND 30 KOS AND THEN GO FOR A BIG PAYDAY. SOUNDS LIKE A BUSINESS PLAN

Posted January 18, 2013 6:42 pm

Luke

Wilder’d like the fact that he’s 39, but his durability and quality of opp would scare Wilder away

Wilder holds great promise, but needs to stop searching for opposition in morgues, cemeteries, and Palookaville; he needs to fight someone who can fight back. As for his noxious “I’m the greatest” routine, the Bronze Bomber needs to tone it down; he will get gravitas when he stops fighting the gravest and blubbery foes like 350-pound Richard Green Jr., 420-pound Dustin Nichols, 300-pound Alvaro Morales, and serial waxee Owen “What the Heck” Beck.

Wilder will never step up, he will be left in the history books as the “bum blaster”

…. but an ok article all things considered

psy – yeah, it was a strange statement to make. lol

Dash

He matches Edwin Valero’s record of 27 KO’s from as many fights, if he wins this I believe, the record is devalued by the opposition though.

Look for Deontay to stop Greer in 2 rounds give or take 1. Busy fight for him hope he steps it up on his next fight or two.

Posted January 18, 2013 8:39 am

Boxstra

Awesome! This is the fight I was hoping for. Put him in the hospital Bama style Deontay!

Posted January 18, 2013 7:58 am

Gnome

Although I just read that in 44 fights and 24 victories, he never had a KO victory! He did been McCline, Sosnowski and Vidoz though.

Posted January 18, 2013 6:22 am

Gnome

At the fear of being shouted down massively, Greer’s record is better than the 15-8 shows. He has only lost to (very) good, experienced fighters (Toney, Minto) or prospects with 0 losses.

Posted January 18, 2013 6:02 am

Gnome

Agreed. Guys like Zuri Lawrence as well.

Posted January 18, 2013 5:57 am

Wilder has potential ….. he has called out Charr which would be a good match up for him. He needs to step up now

Posted January 18, 2013 4:07 am

huckster

Jerrell Miller looks like an easy prospect. Wilder should give him a call. Miller is undefeated too.

Posted January 18, 2013 3:43 am

rod

So much potential but will learn nothing fighting total bums. STEP IT UP WILDER

Posted January 18, 2013 12:18 am

RNS

This is not a “stay busy fight” this is Wilders idea of a credible opponents. In the year 2012 Wilders opponents were aged… 41, 37, 36, 36, 39, 37 and this weekend he is fighting a 35 year old who on boxrec is ranked 270th in the world. Wilder is a joke.

No surprise here…

So few comments…point is, NO ONE CARES ABOUT D WILDER…the rest of us have too much time on our hands:)
MSG to wilder, fight a real fighter quickly or all 7 of us posters won’t bother to waste our key strokes!!

Would luv to see wilder fight a gatekeeper to contendership like ZACH PAGE. Essentially, PAGE is a cruiser who has fought most his career on the road, at heavyweight, and on short notice. PAGE’S record is like 22 and 42 but his quality of opposition is off the charts. Some people think he beat Seth Mitchel and Manuel Charr. My guess is Wilder and his people would have nothing to do with a guy like PAGE….Step up to the plate you phony Wilder…..show some stones and fight a cruiser with 42 losses like ZACH PAGE….your people don’t have the faith in you to match you up with PAGE!!

TARK

How many amateur fights did Tim Witherspoon have??? Seven (7) total — and he fought Larry Homes in his 16th professional fight.. He did pretty well too.. I don’t recommend anyone move that fast but they’re getting chicken fat on Wilder.

Posted January 17, 2013 9:49 pm

PEEJ

I was thinking the same thing. Aren’t all his fights stay busy fights
