Mayweather’s plea for house arrest denied

By James Slater: It seems Floyd “money” Mayweather is going to have to tough it out for the remainder of his 87 day jail sentence. As fans may have read, the 35 year old superstar recently had his legal team request that he serves the remainder of his time under house arrest instead of in the Las Vegas jail he currently resides.

Mayweather and his legal team maintain the 23 hours a day he is locked up in his cell (for his own security reasons, the prison unable to grantee Floyd’s safety if he mingles with regular inmates) are “inhumane” and the fighter’s career is at stake due to his lack of training combined with his current intake of a lowly 800 calories per day.

However, according to a piece in City News, Mayweather’s appeal has been turned down.

” while the physical training areas and times may not be consistent with his prior routine, he is indeed provided sufficient space and time for physical activity if he so chooses,” justice of the peace Melissa Saragosa wrote late yesterday whilst looking into the appeal.

Floyd’s doctor insists he is worried the anger and frustration the fighter suffers will not be ridded in its usual way – of Mayweather working his ass off in his own, well equipped gym – and that this could cause him problems.

The powers that be seem unmoved. Mayweather is constantly being provided with water, the report says, and a substantial amount of food, but, get this, Floyd is refusing the water because he “doesn’t enjoy tap water.” It seems “money” drinks bottled water only!

“It’s jail,” prosecutor Lisa Luzaich said on Tuesday. “Where did he think he was going? The Four Seasons?”

Doubtless the majority of fight fans will also struggle to have any sympathy for Mayweather.
