POUGHKEEPSIE, NY (May 15, 2012) — Undefeated Irish super featherweight Patrick “The Punisher” Hyland improved his record to a perfect 26-0, registering his 12th knockout when the action was halted by the referee Benji Estevez in the fourth round as veteran Frankie Archuleta (27-10-1, 14 KOs) was being pounded in tonight’s main event, headlining “Irish Invasion,” at Mid-Hudson Civic Center in Poughkeepsie, New York.
“Irish Invasion” was presented by Final Round Promotions, in association with Team Snooki Boxing and Bob Duffy’s Ring Promotions, and sponsored in part by Title Boxing.
Hyland came out throwing crippling body shots, taking complete control from the opening bell. He dropped Archuleta in the first and third rounds, peppering Artchuleta with stiff jabs, solid combinations and devastating body blows.
“It was a good fight but I could have done a little better,” Hyland said after the fight. “He’s a tough guy who hit me with a couple of good shots. I got him with some good shots in the fourth when it was stopped. I’m a contender, 26-0, and fighting here in the United States. I’m ready for anybody at 126 pounds.”
Arkansas invader Josh Williams (6-4, 4 KOs) upset previously unbeaten Bryant “The Spartan” Pappas (13-1-1, 13 KOs), winning a six-round decision in an entertaining match. Former USA Mid-American middleweight champion Pappas, a sergeant in the Yonkers Police Department, is a cancer survivor who donated his purse to cancer research.
Poughkeepsie super featherweight Chazz McDowell (6-1, 1 KOs) won a six-round majority decision from Cuban-born Yuniel Ramos. Canadian light welterweight Natasha “The Nightmare” Spencer (4-0-1, 2 KOs) tangles with Racquel Bailey (1-2-1) in a six-round female match. New York City light middleweight Valdrin Muriqi (3-1) won a unanimous four-round decision over a game Philip Burnette (2-4, 1 KOs),
Team Snooki Boxing was donating $1.00 from each sold ticket to Rolling Thunder, Chapter III New York to support needy U.S. military veterans.

Pendarvis-Frankel collide May 25
Woodland Hills, California (May 2012) – As the country prepares for Memorial Day weekend, two Americans will attempt to take one step closer to a world title bid as Art of Boxing Promotions in association with Bash Boxing and Pitbull Boxing present a special installment of their “War at Woodland Hills” boxing series on Friday, May 25, 2012 at the Warner Center Marriott. The 12 round main event will feature Cleotis “Mookie” Pendarvis (14-3-2, 5KOs) vs. Robert “Red Hot” Frankel (30-11-1, 6KOs) for the vacant USBA Light Welterweight Title and Frankel’s WBC USNBC Light Welterweight title.
Pendarvis, out of Los Angeles, California, is a longtime fixture on the Southern California boxing scene, both as a rising prospect and chief sparring partner for some of the world’s greatest fighters. Following a four fight win streak and victories over undefeated fighters Hector Sanchez (18-0) and Rogelio De La Torre (6-0), Pendarvis earned the #1 spot in the USBA ratings. In his last bout, Pendarvis headlined War At Woodland Hills 6 with a unanimous decision victory over Luis Alfredo Lugo.
Frankel, from Denver, Colorado, is also no stranger to dethroning undefeated fighters. He is the current WBC USNBC Light Welterweight Champion courtesy of a unanimous decision victory over previously undefeated prospect Raul Carrillo (9-0) on February 17, 2012. Winner of 9 of his last 11 bouts, Frankel has beaten the likes of Bobby Pacquaio and Ricardo Dominguez while facing world class fighters Lamont Peterson, John Molina, and David Diaz, to name a few.

Gunn Talks Toney Fight, Future In Boxing
This morning I sat down with Bobby Gunn for an exclusive interview about his fight with James Toney and what lies ahead in his future within the squared circle.
CC: How you feeling?
Gunn: I’m doing good. My hand is healing up great. I’m starting my training and I feel really good.
CC: Tell me your thoughts about the James Toney fight.
Gunn:
First and foremost, I want to thank James Toney for the fight. A lot of things happened before the fight, but after the fight we became friends; he’s a nice guy and a total class act.
Every prisoner in jail claims that they are innocent, and every fighter has an excuse after a loss. Plain and simple, he did what he was supposed to do, and I didn’t do what I should’ve done. Hats off to him, he is a great champion. It really was an honor to share the ring with a hall of famer like that.
CC: Going into the fight, you had some distractions regarding finding out the fight was not for the IBA Heavyweight title as well as some other issues. What happened with that?
Gunn: It was terrible. The promoter wanted to change the contract two days before the fight. There was some money issues that we had to work out—the purse being totally different from what we agreed upon going into the fight. There was a lot of headache, and a lot of stuff that I never had to deal with in my past, but 100% I learned my lesson and a few things will be different in the future.
CC: How has your hand been healing up, and is it going to affect you going forward?
Gunn: I am a two-handed fighter. A few months back I had a bare knuckle fight where I hurt my hand, and through training camp it started to aggravate me and I was basically a one-handed fighter. So going into the fight it was injured. Again, I don’t want to start making excuses like every fighter does. Plain and simple, it’s over, it is what it is. I lost, he won, and I wish him the best. He is a great champion.
CC: Do you plan on staying at heavyweight going forward?
Gunn: I learned this fight that I am absolutely not a heavyweight, in any way, shape or form. I fought a hard 5 rounds with James Toney, with only one hand through basically four of those rounds. But it is what it is. I am not a heavyweight. I will definitely be dropping down a weight class, and I’d like to fight next month if I could. Right now I feel excellent.
Following the fight, I spoke with James Toney at the hotel. He asked how Bobby’s hand was and commented that Bobby Gunn was one of the hardest punchers he had faced.
As a cruiserweight Bobby Gunn won multiple titles, including the IBA Cruiserweight Title. In coming months he is looking to work his way toward a Light Heavyweight Title.
