Andy Lee vs. Saul Duran on March 10th

Andy Lee, Irish Kronk middleweight contender, will headline a ‘Pre-St Patrick’s Day Brawl Boxing Event’ this Saturday evening, March 10 at the Suburban Collection Showpiece in Novi, Michigan.

The event is being promoted by Emanuel Steward, Kronk Boxing and will see Lee (27W-1L, 19KOs) defend his NABA Middleweight Championship Title against the durable Mexican Saul Duran (40W-19L, 2D, 33KOs).

The Kronk fighter presently ranked #2 in the WBA and WBO rankings views this bout as a ‘stay busy fight’ as he waits for his opportunity to challenge for a world title later this year.

The event takes place 6 years to the day when the Irishman first made his pro debut at the famous Joe Louis Arena in Detroit on March 10, 2006.

Lee commented “It is important that I stay active to maintain my ring fitness and sharpness. Training has gone well and I am now looking forward to defending my NABA belt.”

The main event will be supported by a crop of young Kronk stars including Tony Harrison, LeAndre White, Jacob Bonas, Ernie Garza and Wade Tolle Jr.

International Boxing Hall of Fame manager and trainer, Emanuel Steward proudly stated “I am very excited about the event; this is the most talented group of youngsters I have had since the days of Tommy Hearns, Hilmer Kenty, Mickey Goodwin, Milton McCrory and Jimmy Paul.”

Live Streaming of the Andy Lee v Saul Duran headlining fight can be purchased at www.kronkfightnight.com.

The Suburban Collection Showplace is located at 46100 Grand River Avenue, between Novi and Beck Roads. The doors open at 7:30 pm; with the event beginning at 8:30 p.m.

FANTASY SPRINGS ANNOUNCES FORMER UNDISPUTED HEAVYWEIGHT WORLD CHAMPION JAMES ‘BUSTER’ DOUGLAS AS VIP AT FRIDAY, MARCH 16 SHOWTIME TELEVISED BOXING EVENT

March 8, 2012 – INDIO, CA – Former Undisputed Heavyweight World Champion James ‘Buster’ Douglas will greet fans at Fantasy Springs Resort Casino as part of the March 16th Showtime televised ShoBox event featuring Omar Figueroa Jr. and Ramon Ayala and Coachella’s own Randy Caballero vs. Jose Luis Araiza.

Douglas is best known for his shocking knock-out of previously undefeated Heavyweight World Champion Mike Tyson on February 11, 1990 in Tokyo, Japan. At the time, Tyson was considered to be the best fighter in the world and one of the most feared heavyweight champions in history as a result of his utter domination of the division. Douglas held the title for eight months, losing on October 25, 1990 to Evander Holyfield.

Since retiring from boxing, Douglas has become a spokesperson of sorts for the prevention and treatment of diabetes, a disease to which he nearly lost his life in 1994. He strives to help others stay positive in their fight with the disease and shares his story of survival and his favorite meals in a cookbook called Buster’s Backyard Bar-B-Q Knockout Diabetes Diet. He says about life, “You’ve just got to live it full of gusto. Be positive; be positive, that’s my philosophy.”

Come meet Douglas at the ShoBox doubleheader, which is presented by Golden Boy Promotions and sponsored by Corona, DeWalt Tools and AT&T. It will be televised live on ShoBox: The New Generation at 11:00 p.m. ET/PT (delayed on the West Coast) on SHOWTIME®.

Tickets, priced at $25, $35 and $45, are available for purchase at the Fantasy Springs Box Office, by calling (800) 827-2946 or online at www.fantasyspringsresort.com. Doors at Fantasy Springs will open at 6:00 p.m. PT on fight night and the first bell rings at 6:30 p.m. PT.
