Burns eating more for Katsidis fight; Norton and Williams fight on October 21

Ricky Burns is eating for two as he heads into his big showdown with Michael Katsidis on November 5th at Wembley Arena. Burns, the former World Boxing Organization (WBO) World Super-Featherweight Champion, makes his debut at lightweight when he challenges the Australian dynamo for the Interim WBO World title, live on BoxNation (Sky platform Ch. 456).

The Scotsman has doubled up on his meals to fuel him for the grueling training schedules with trainer Billy Nelson and to make the 135lb limit for the fight.

Burns opened up his gym to the media today and he looked devastating as he worked-out with Nelson, showing he is ready for Brit Basher who has already demolished Graham Earl and Kevin Mitchell.

“With my punishing daily training schedule I’m burning off energy fast so I need to keep my calorie intake high for my body to cope with the demands,” Said Burns.

“It’s all good healthy stuff, chicken, fish, rice pasta, vegetables, in fact I’m eating more the Billy which is a bit worrying!”

“Plus I need to keep on track to make the lightweight limit because the weight is dropping off me and I want to be as big and strong as possible against Katsidis,”

“My girlfriend is going mad because I’ve doubled the food bill in our house, but it will be worth when I’m crowed a two-weight world champion,”

“I feel like a monster at lightweight and I’ll be the strongest and fastest I’ve ever been when I step into the ring against him on the night,”

The fight headlines a massive night of boxing LIVE and exclusive on BoxNation (Sky Platform Ch. 456) that includes George Groves’ British and Commonwealth Super-Middleweight defence against Paul Smith.
