LOS ANGELES, June 24 – As a result of tonight’s original scheduled TeleFutura “Sólo Boxeo Tecate” co-featured bout pitting Florida’s Joseph Elegele against Dallas’ Noel Rodriguez being canceled when Rodriguez arrived to weigh-in overweight, James Kirkland and Dennis Sharpe’s eight round middleweight bout will now be tonight’s co-featured bout on the broadcast which will emanate from the Dr. Pepper Ballpark in Frisco, Texas. The main event of the evening features Fort Worth’s Brian Vera in a battle against San Antonio’s Eloy Suarez.
This night of world-class professional boxing is presented by Golden Boy Promotions and is sponsored by Cerveza Tecate, AT&T and DeWalt Tools. The TeleFutura broadcast begins at 11:30pm ET / PT (10:30pm CT).
Fans at home can also be part of the action by participating in Cinturón Tecate and voting for the fighter in the main event who displayed the most character in the ring by sending a text message to 55333. Voting will be open through the end of the weekend.

Toney vs. Shamrock Face-off Tomorrow!
The media and public are welcome at a meet and greet and photo-opportunity faceoff to be held tomorrow (Saturday, June 25) at the newly opened IFC Gym in Van Nuys, California, at 8 pm PST, to formally announce the upcoming MMA showdown between multiple-time world boxing champion James “Lights Out” Toney and UFC Hall of Fame inductee Ken “World’s Most Dangerous Man” Shamrock.
This will be the first face-to-face meeting between Toney and Shamrock, who will fight under MMA unified rules agreed upon by both fighters.
Both fighters will be available for interviews, autographs and photos.

2011 USA Boxing National Championships Consolation Bout Results
(COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO.) –Twelve consolation bouts were contested on Friday night at the Colorado Springs Christian School with bronze medalists being crowned in the final session at the current venue. All of the final round bouts will move to the historic City Auditorium with two sessions of boxing taking place on Saturday.
Five championship bouts in the women’s non-Olympic weight classes kick off at 2 p.m. with the 13 Olympic weight class final round contests beginning at 6 p.m. There are less than 200 tickets left for the event and they can be purchased for $20 at www.ticketswest.com
