By James Slater: Most fans agree WBC super-middleweight king Carl Froch has one of the best-looking and hard earned resumes in the sport today. Back to back, “The Cobra” has met genuine world class operators, and more often than not he’s done it away from home. Willing to fight the best each and every time out, the 33 year-old has slowly won over even his strongest critics.
Now with a very real chance of winning the soon to be completed “super six” tournament that began almost two years ago, Froch is one win away from a spot in the grand final. The teak-tough Glen Johnson stands in Carl’s way and fans will be tuning in tomorrow night to see which warrior earns a fight with the unbeaten Andre Ward.

How good was Froch on this night? He barely lost a round to a dangerous fighter many said would KO him back when the tourney began. Instead, Froch the boxer showed up and put on a true master class. Has Abraham ever been the same fighter since?
2. TKO 12 Jermaine Taylor. USA, 2009.
A huge test for the new WBC champ in his first defence. Carl got up off the floor having suffered his first career knock down. Also heading to his first pro loss via the score cards, Froch instead rallied to sensationally halt the former middleweight king in the fading seconds of the last round. Spellbinding stuff !
3. Wu12 Jean Pascal. UK, 2008.
Froch’s first world title shot and did he make the most of it! The two unbeaten men went at it hammer and tongs for all 12 rounds, with neither guy willing to give an inch. Boxing on home soil for once, Froch prevailed in a classic. In light of how Pascal went on to win the world light heavyweight crown, this win looks even better for Froch than it initially did.
4. Ws12 Andre Dirrell. UK, 2009.
Froch’s first fight in “super six” and also his most controversial. scraping by via close split decision, Froch was deemed a home town winner by many. But have any fighters looked great against the slippery, awkward talents of “The Matrix?”
5. W rtd 5 Robin Reid. UK, 2007.
On paper a pretty big test for Froch, former champ Reid was instead handed with consummate ease. Reid was soon back in retirement. Froch was world title-bound.
