Pacquiao-Mosley: May 7th is history in the making; Arreola-Aguilera on 5/14; Double trouble at the hall

By Reni M. Valenzuela: “There are a lot of fans that don’t believe that I can do it. Maybe because of the last couple of fights, but things have changed and I feel great; I feel good. I’m just ready to go.”

I believe Sugar Shane Mosley when he said that. And with the kind of push and motivation, challenge, training, conditioning, preparation and sacrifices he has had heading to his forthcoming showdown with the heavy favorite boxing master Pacman, he is most likely to win the bout but well against the opponents who defeated him or serve him a draw in the past from Vernon Forrest to Sergio Mora if he will be given a chance to turn the clock back and do it again.

But against a Manny Pacquiao on May 7, it’s an entirely different story.

This is to bring up a couple of main points: One is Pacquiao will beat a Mosley in his prime. Two is even the best Mosley that Mosley can summon from himself at any given time in his career as a professional boxer, doing everything he needs to do to fight a Manny Pacquiao at the top of his game such as the transforming vicious one we have today and whom Mosley would engage in a war a few days from now, Sugar Shane and his camp would then finally find out and “sweetly” realize in less than twelve rounds on fight night why most people and experts in the sport say that Pacquiao would win and even capably deliver their man the first and only knockout loss in his record.

The Pacman is history in the making. His story isn’t finished yet and Mosley just happens to be a part of that fascinating saga of a great sports legend. And as in a classical movie masterpiece, it would be anti-climactic to say at this point that Pacquiao is already the best and greatest boxer of all time. We are nearing the end, though.

Decades or centuries from now, we all will be considered “lucky” and blessed by the future generations because we have in our generation a man who is rare to come in a lifetime or lifetimes.

ARREOLA SHAPES UP FOR MAY 14 FIGHT AGAINST AGUILERA AND BEYOND

Los Angeles, CA (May 2, 2011) – They say “Pictures Don’t Lie.” And that is especially true about the photos in this release of an obviously slimmed down and solid Chris “The Nightmare” Arreola, who is on target to enter the Home Depot Center boxing ring on Saturday night, May 14 in Carson, CA at his lowest weight in four years.

“Right now I’m training very hard,” said the former #1-ranked world contender about his upcoming 10-round fight with Nagy Aguilera (16-5, 11 KOs) as the co-featured bout underneath the Super Six World Boxing Classic semi-final contest between WBA Super Middleweight Champion Andre Ward and Arthur Abraham. “I’m looking more to showing than talking; at least until after the fight,” said the normally ‘sound bite’ machine who ballooned up to a career high of 263 pounds in 2009.

The “re-dedication of Arreola” started when he and his longtime trainer Henry Ramirez trekked down to the Houston, TX training center run by Ronnie Shields to prepare for an ESPN2 main event on January 28, 2011. For the first time in eight fights, Arreola came in under 250-pounds for that bout.

And now Arreola is back in Riverside hard at work with Ramirez for his upcoming bout.

So what was Arreola’s motivation for re-dedicating himself?

“I hate to lose,” he said.

Tickets for this May 14 action-packed, world championship boxing card are priced at $25, $50, $100 and $200 (VIP floor seats). Double Trouble at The Hall

In her second outing with Jim Evans as matchmaker, Miranda Carter is promising a thrilling afternoon of championship boxing and a competitive undercard at York Hall, Bethnal Green on Sunday 15th May.

Two vacant Southern Area Championship titles are up for grabs, and four men each see themselves as the rightful owner.

Exciting Ryan Toms has seven straight wins behind him and believes the Light-Middleweight belt is his for sure. Scotty Woolford has a more chequered record but is a dogged and tough opponent with over sixty more rounds of ring experience.

Kreshnik Qato is back on his winning ways with an emphatic second round victory in his last bout and is now looking to add the Southern Area Middleweight belt to his trophy cabinet. But after travelling to Denmark for his last fight Gary Boulden senses the title could be his and is determined to make the most of this opportunity.

The undercard promises some equally hard fights. Tony Owen, undefeated after ten fights, is moving up to 8 rounds for the first time, and is taking on hard nut Ibrar Riyaz. If he wins, Tony will be looking to grab his own belts. Chas Symonds, after time out of the ring, is in the best shape of his life, and ready to prove himself.

Two newcomers, John Brennan and Gavin James are looking to establish themselves as prospects. John is looking for his third straight win, and Gavin is looking for his first victory after a surprise defeat on debut.

Tickets for the Sunday afternoon show are available from Left Jab at www.leftjab.co.uk / 07825 795616, or from the boxers.
