Deandre Latimore Wins Big In St. Louis – “Bull Calls Out Perro”

boxingST. LOUIS, MO (July 27, 2010) Junior middleweight contender Deandre “The Bull” Latimore went back to work this past Saturday night in his hometown of St. Louis, tearing into veteran Darien Ford, dropping him three times in the second round before referee Steve Smoger stopped the bout at the 2:46 mark of the third round following a hailstorm of punches.

The win improved the 24 year old Latimore’s record to 21-3-0 with seventeen knockouts and has him looking to much bigger fights in the talent rich junior middleweight division.

“I was so much more focused for this fight. My training for this bout was on a level for a world title fight. I left St. Louis for eight weeks to train in Las Vegas with Ray Franklin and Jacob Chavez. In Las Vegas I was able to strictly focus on training for the fight and not have to worry about the distractions back home” said Latimore..

Said Franklin , “Deandre’s doing a much better job now with his boxing skills and stamina. Being out here in Las Vegas really gave us time to work on different things. He’s always been a hard puncher, but now he’s becoming a better boxer. He’s ready for a world title shot right now and definitely ready for a bigger fight.”

Continued Latimore, “The way I feel right now, there’s no one that can stop me at junior middle. All these guys looking for a fight in the fall can look no further. They call Alfredo Angulo a beast and say he’s the next big deal at 154; I’d love to fight him. We’re both all action aggressive fighters that can’t help but make for a good TV fight.”

“The last guy Angulo fought, Alcine, didn’t even want to be in the ring with him. Before that it was against Julio who’s really a welterweight and two guys, Yorgey and Rosado, who didn’t belong in the same elevator with him let alone the ring. And off these four fights, he’s the next monster at 154?”

“The call him Perro, well let’s see what happens when he faces THE BULL.”

“Same thing with Miguel Cotto, I’m ready to go right now. He’s a great fighter and I know he’s looking for a fight in the fall. I’m ready to hit Madison Square Garden , his home turf and give him the fight of his life. Just like Angulo, we can’t help but make a terrific action fight.”

“HBO and Showtime talk about wanting action fights; well that’s what I bring. Whether it’s Angulo, Cotto or the younger guys like Vanes Martirosyan or Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., I’m ready to go right now.”

Latimore is promoted by Rumble Time Promotions and DiBella Entertainment. Said Steve Smith of Rumble Time, “The Bull is ready now to face Angulo, just call me or Lou and let’s make this fight. Fight fans deserve to see Angulo/Latimore and it’s a bout that HBO should make.”
