Elvin Ayala, Andres Taylor and Mickey Bey Jr Back In Action Tonight

BOSTON , MA . (June 26, 2009) Former world title challenger Elvin Ayala returns to action this Saturday night, June 27th, to face Eddie Caminero at The Roxy in Boston , Massachusetts . The 28 year old Ayala, 19-3-1 (8KO’s), is anxious to return to the squared circle and is looking towards another world title shot later this year. The heavy handed Caminero brings a record of 5-1-0, all five of his wins coming by knockout. In March of 2008, Ayala traveled to the homeland of Germany ’s Arthur Abraham to challenge for the IBF Middleweight Title.. Battling the heavy handed Abraham on mostly even terms for the first eleven rounds, Ayala was stunned and stopped by an uppercut with the bout being stopped less than thirty seconds from its finish.

Ayala got back in the win column this past January 23rd with a terrific eight round decision win over crafty veteran Anthony Bartinelli in Las Vegas .

“Elvin very much wants another world title shot. He knows he can do better against Abraham and prior to that fight most everyone had him beating Sergio Mora even though it was called a draw in California ” said Chet Koerner, President of TKO BOXING Promotions.

Ayala wound up with a ten round draw against former world champion and winner of The Contender, Season One, Mora in October of 2007. Although seemingly out boxing Mora for the majority of the ten round fight on his way to a clear cut victory, the fight was declared a draw.

Continued Koerner, “Elvin knows that he has to take care of business against Caminero on Saturday night. After that I’ll sit down and discuss with him our plan towards getting another world title shot. As he’s proven, he’ll go anywhere and fight anyone.”

“There was some talk of him fighting hot prospect Danny Jacobs later this year, Elvin just said to make the fight and get him on a plane to the location. He’s hungry and he wants a chance to show the world that he truly has what it takes to be a world champion.”

The Ayala/Caminero bout is featured at “The Showdown at Early Sunset,” a professional boxing event presented by Cappiello Promotions at The Roxy in Boston , Massachusetts . The nine-bout event will begin at 5 PM, with doors to the event opening at 3:30 PM.
