Undefeated welterweight titleholder Andre Berto (24-0, 19 KOs) delivers devastating knockout power with exceptional boxing skills and electrifying charisma. The 25-year-old native of Winter Haven, Fla. defeated veteran Steve Forbes in late 2008, following with a significant victory over former welterweight champ Luis Collazo in a grueling battle last January..

Juan Urango (21-1-1, 16 KOs), originally from Colombia and now living in Miami, is an aggressive, powerful puncher with rock-hard fists. This two-time junior welterweight titleholder has only one career defeat, a decision loss at the hands of Ricky Hatton in 2007. Now, the 28-year-old Urango looks to utilize his quick, precise jab as he steps up in weight class to try and blemish Berto’s perfect record in this scheduled 12-round bout.

The opening bout pits top-rated junior middleweight contender Alfredo Angulo (15-0, 12 KOs) of Coachella, Cal. against former welterweight titleholder and Reading, Pa. native Kermit Cintron (30-2-1, 27 KOs) in a scheduled 12-round junior middleweight contest. Making his fourth appearance on HBO’s hit late-night series, the hard-hitting, aggressive Angulo is on the fast track to boxing stardom, but is about to face his most formidable opponent to date. Throughout his nine-year career, the 29-year-old Cintron has demonstrated tremendous power, size and strength, never backing down from a challenge. His wealth of experience in fighting opponents such as Antonio Margarito and Lovemore N’dou makes him a dangerous opponent for the 26-year-old Angulo.

Berto vs Urango, Cintron vs Angulo: Fireworks Guaranteed!

HOLLYWOOD, FL, May 18 – Hype and brash talk have become a part of most boxing promotions in recent years, but for May 30th’s HBO Boxing After Dark doubleheader at the Hard Rock Live in Hollywood, Florida, none of that is necessary when Andre Berto defends his welterweight title against junior welterweight champion Juan Urango, and junior middleweight knockout artists Alfredo Angulo and Kermit Cintron meet in the center of the ring.

Simply put, this is a can’t miss event in terms of high stakes, power punching, and excitement.

“When Lou DiBella and I discussed this event, the first thing we thought of was that this card goes back to the early days of Boxing After Dark and what the series was designed to do,” said Leon Margules, Executive Director of Seminole Warriors Boxing. “We’ve got four hungry fighters, four action fighters, and only two can leave the Hard Rock with a victory. These guys are all going to leave it all in the ring to get the win, but the real winners that night are going to be the fans. I haven’t been this excited about a single event in a long time.”

Margules has good reason to be excited, considering that the Ferocious Four of Berto, Urango, Angulo, and Cintron possess a combined record of 90-3-2 with 74 KOs. That’s an amazing knockout percentage of over 82%, almost ensuring that on May 30th, somebody’s going to be hitting the canvas.

Berto vs Urango, a 12 round bout for the WBC welterweight championship of the world, is presented by DiBella Entertainment and Seminole Warriors Boxing and will be televised live on HBO Boxing After Dark beginning at 9:45 pm ET / 6:45pm PT.
