Former Two-time world champion, Robert “The Ghost” Guerrero, is scheduled to appear at the San Jose Sharks game, Thursday February 19, 2009 when the Sharks face the Los Angeles Kings at the HP Pavilion. Guerrero (21-1-1, 16 KOs) will talk about his upcoming fight against Indonesia’s undefeated hero, Daud Yordan (15-0, 10 KOs) scheduled for March 7, 2009 when HBO “Boxing After Dark” hits the HP Pavilion for the first time in history..

Robert “The Ghost” Guerrero battles Daud Yordan for the NABO Jr. Lightweight championship. Also on the card will be hard-hitting James Kirkland (24-0, 21 KOs) vs ESPN’s 2005 “Prospect of the Year” Joel Julio (34-2, 31 KOs) and ESPN’s 2008 “Prospect of the Year” Victor Ortiz (23-1-1, 18 KOs) vs Mike Arnaoutis (21-2-2, 10 KOs).

Boxing Promoter Donating to Crash Victims

Boxing promoter Nick Garone of X-Cel Worldwide has announced he will donate $1 from every ticket sold to his “Return of Buffalo Boxing” event to the families of the 49 passengers killed in the crash of a Continental Flight 3407 near Buffalo.

The New Jersey-based Garone says he has been welcomed with open arms by the people of Buffalo and is happy to be able to give back. “I think it’s the right thing to do in this situation. The people of Buffalo have shown me tremendous kindness since I set up a base of operations here and this is an opportunity to pay some of that back.”

“The Return of Buffalo Boxing”, will feature an NABA-US Light Heavyweight Championship bout between two-time super middleweight world champion Byron “Slama from Bama” Mitchell (26-4-1, 19 KOs) and former NABA-US champ Zach “Jungle Boy” Walters (23-3, 18 KOs).

The co-main event will spotlight Buffalo heavyweight Paul “The Italian Hit Man” Marinaccio.

Scheduled for the undercard are Meacher Major (15-3-1, 13 KOs) of the Bahamas, Pro Debuting Buffalo natives Lionel Thompson and Greg Brady, as well as Guilderland, New York’s undefeated light welterweight Michael Faragon, Rochester, New York’s Harvey Murray and heavyweight Johnny Davis of Niagara Falls, New York.
