18.11.07 – Just off their outstanding LATIN THUNDER/SOLO BOXEO event in front of a packed Cicero Stadium this past Friday night, Chicago’s 8 Count Productions, HOME OF THE BEST IN CHICAGO BOXING, presents DECEMBER FURY, another evening of world class professional boxing set for Friday, December 14TH. The ten round main event features the return to Chicago of world ranked lightweight contender Miguel “EL ANESTESISTA” Huerta of Mexico City. Huerta, 25-8-1 (17KO’s) knocked out Antonio Ramirez on December 22, 2006 in his previous battle at Cicero Stadium. Currently ranked #8 in the world by the WBC, Huerta is coming off a decision win broadcast on SOLO BOXEO over Efren Hinojosa on August 30th in Houston, Texas.
Headlining the undercard is the return of undefeated and world ranked light heavyweight Tavoris Cloud. Cloud, 16-0 with 15 knockouts, is coming off a devastating fifth round knockout of Jose Luis Herrera on August 24th at Chicago’s Congress Theater which can be viewed at YouTube.com. Cloud is currently ranked #11 by the IBF and #14 by the WBO.
Also on the undercard is Chicago fan favorite Francisco “EL NINO AZTECA” Rodriguez who will be featured in an eight round bantamweight bout. Rodriguez, 10-1 with seven knockouts, is coming off a SOLO BOXEO televised 7th round stoppage of Ivan Rodriguez on September 14th at the Congress Theater.
Super middleweight knockout artist Victor “THE UKRANIAN TIGER” Ployakov will battle in a six round bout. With his world class skills and destructive knockouts Polyakov, 6-0 (5KO’s) has quickly become amongst the most exciting young prospects in boxing.
Former Chicago amateur standout Francisco Tafoya returns to the professional boxing ring after a two year layoff. The popular featherweight, sporting a perfect 5-0 record with three knockouts, will be featured in a six round featherweight bout.
Also appearing at DECEMBER FURY in separate bouts are newcomers Eric Estrada, 2-and Greg Dzuibek, 1-3 (1KO) who will battle in four rounders.
The Master of Ceremonies for DECEMBER FURY will be Lupe Contreras, the internationally recognized voice of Latino boxing.
