Kevin Johnson Added To Star Boxing’s “Punchin at the Paradise 6” Card

Bronx, NY – Nov 07, 2007 Joe DeGuardia’s Star Boxing announced today that newly ranked (WBA #14) heavyweight contender Kevin “Kingpin” Johnson (16-0-1 6KO’s) of Asbury Park, NJ, will be in the big apple this week for a busy week in and out of the ring.. Johnson is scheduled to shoot a photo spread for a high end glossy magazine and he will step in the ring this Friday night in the Bronx at Star Boxing’s “Punchin at the Paradise 6” card.

Originally slated to be a guest of honor to celebrate his well deserved world ranking. Johnson, ever true to his trash talking, take no prisoners, I’ll fight anyone, anywhere, anytime mantra, asked his promoter Joe DeGuardia to put him on the “Punchin at the Paradise” card this coming Friday, November 9.

We last saw Johnson, when he put on a magnificent show on the biggest night of his career when he headlined Showtime’s ShoBox: The New Generation, August 3, 2007 in Atlanta, GA., this was a monster fight for Kevin against Damian “Bolo” Wills (22-1-1 16KO’s). Johnson put the “Show” in Showtime as the sold out crowd were up on their feet the entire 10 rounds cheering Johnson on to victory.

” Kevin Johnson never fails to amaze me. He has had a tremendous year, he blew onto the world stage with his show stopping last fight, and now making it into the WBA rankings at #14. We are extremely happy to add him to our already exciting fight card, with the addition of Johnson, it takes this tremendous card to a whole other level,” said Joe DeGuardia.

As a featured undercard bout Johnson is set to face Andrew Greeley (13-18-2 7KO’s), of Monroe, LA.

The main event features a sensational ten round Jr. lightweight bout between WBC CABOFE Champion Francisco “El Ahogado” Lorenzo (29-4- 14KO’s) of the Dominican Republic and the WBC’s 6th ranked Guadalupe “Bronco” Rosales (25-1-15KO’s) of Mexico.

The co-main event features hard-hitting knockout sensation, 2004 Olympian Argenis Mendez (8-0 6KO’s) of the Dominican Republic. Argenis, known to take out his opponent with crisp body-head-hook combinations will appear in an eight round bout.
