Sam Peter Open Workout Quotes

A public workout was held today at Madison Square Garden featuring hard-hitting, recently crowned WBC Interim Heavyweight Champion Samuel “The Nigerian Nightmare” Peter (28-1, 22 KOs) who will be defending his title against Jameel “Big Time” McCline (38-7-3, 23 KOs) Saturday, Oct. 6, on SHOWTIME live at 10 p.m. ET/PT (delayed on the West Coast)..

Samuel Peter:

“McCline does not have a chance against me, but he is a good fighter, a tough opponent.

“I will knock out McCline quick, that’s what I see.

“Real heavyweight champions fight. That is why I am not waiting for Maskaev. I am putting my interim on the line.

“Tick…tick…tick. The clock is ticking on all the heavyweights who don’t want to fight. I’m a real fighter. I could have waited to face Maskaev to protect my title. But I want to fight and that is what champions do.

“I don’t have a problem fighting anyone. Even if the devil comes up and wants to fight, I’m ready.

“If I can fight anyone, it would be Wladamir Klitschko. If he stands up after I knock him down this time, I will retire him.

The event is being promoted by Don King Productions in association with Madison Square Garden and Duva Boxing.
